TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH FLOORING! PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO WAIT MONTHS FOR FLOORING TO BE INSTALLED. We ordered flooring and were told it would be installed within three weeks. We called one week later and found out it was on back order (Home Depot neglected to call us and update us). Flooring finally came in and they still didnt call. We had to call for update. Then we dealt with JW Floorings schedule which was 4 weeks out. So we continued to pay rent and wait our turn. JW flooring started demo on Monday. They were supposed to be finished by today (Dec. 8th) with the flooring and the demo is not even complete. We have been calling since Monday telling JW they were not going to finish by Thursday and they kept assuring us they were on schedule. After seeing that everything was not demoed by end of day yesterday, we called back and demanded to speak with a manager. The manager told us we would be lucky to have it installed by Saturday...which means we have to cancel the moving truck that was supposed to come on Saturday), cancel the cleaning crew and paint crew scheduled for tomorrow (Friday) and find a hotel room to stay in since our landlord wants us out by Saturday. To make matters worse, I have a three month old that I am trying to care for while basically project planning my own project. Furthermore, we have been tracking JWs time and they are showing up between 9-10am and leaving by 4:30pm. They are not even spending 8 hours at our house even though they know we have a deadline and know we are not happy. The manager was supposed to have a crew at our house at 7am this morning and a plan of attack to finish by late Friday night so we can move on Saturday. Still no call from manager with a plan of attack and so I had to call back again..... I am beyond frustrated and will never work with Home Depot or JW Flooring again. We purchased all of our appliances, re-did all of our flooring and were planning on remodeling all of our kitchen with them but I will be looking elsewhere.

This Home Depot is okay if you know exactly what you want and do not have to special order it. The first time I ordered something through this home depot, it just never showed up and I cancelled the order. Its been years, so I tried again. There were mistakes with the order and constant lack of communication. I had to go in person to the windows and doors desk repeatedly to get any update at all. My first few conversations didnt leave me with the confidence that the order would ever get filled. Finally, someone was able to tell me that it was actually with the vendor and a date it was coming in, nearly a month after I ordered it. When it finally did arrive, no one called. Along the way, people said I could expect phone calls - once when they werent sure where the order was, once when someone called an "expediter" was going to call, once when it actually came in. Not a peep. This is the only Home Depot around, theres not an alternative for some of the inventory they carry nearby. So a lot of us suck it up and deal with the very poor service. If you have an option, dont.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE STORE MANAGEMENT & STAFF FOR THE CLEANEST, ORGANIZED AND PROFESSIONAL STAFF I HAVE SEEN AT THIS LOCATION, COMING THERE FOR ALMOST 20 YRS. MY WIFE & I STOPPED BY SAT. 11-14 TO PURCHASE SOME PALMS, MULCH ETC. AND WONDERED IF WE COULD HAVE IT DELIVERED ON MON 11-16 AND WHAT WOULD BE THE CHARGE. $20.00 WOW! THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT. WAS TERRIFIC HELPING TO ARRANGE THIS AND TO END OUR EXPERIENCE IN A POSITIVE NOTE, YOUR DELIVERY PERSON WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO MAKE SURE IT WAS JUST THAT, ESPECIALLY WHEN WE COUNTED ALL THE BAGS WHICH WERE SHRINK WRAPPED PRIOR WE WERE SHORT 1 BAG.. I TOLD I BELIEVE HIS NAME WAS JIM THAT I WOULD STOP BY IN THE NEXT DAY OR SO AND PICK IT UP. GUESS WHAT? THE VERY NEXT DAY I RECEIVED A CALL TO LET ME KNOW IT WOULD BE DELIVERED WITHIN 1/2 HOUR. I WAS A RETAIL STORE MANAGER FOR OVER 15 YRS. AND WHEN STAFF DOES A TERRIFIC JOB, NO ONE LETS THE MANAGEMENT KNOW, ONLY WHEN THEIR UNHAPPY. TODAY I COULDNT JUST BRUSH IT OFF BEING YOU AND YOUR STAFF ARE TERRIFIC. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL

I know that this is the closet Home Depot or Lowes if you live in about 8 towns within a 5 - 10 mile radius, and its BUSY because of it. The problem is that the staff is so used to being busy that you can WAIT and WAIT and WAIT to be helped out. And heaven forbid you want help loading something, they see that and walk away or hide from you. It is close to my house, and I prefer to drive the extra ten minutes each way to another Home Depot or better yet a Lowes if I actually need help with something, because at every other HD or Lowes, they are actually eager to help, the stores are cleaner, not overcrowded, and you can actually get a good parking spot. Just look at a map, it makes sense, they have competition and this one doesnt. Ive been told its the #1 HD in San Diego county, but you would think that would mean it was better run, not everything falling though the cracks.

I have called the Encinitas Home Depot at least five times, requesting a solution to the daily trash buildup on the corner at the NE exit to parking lot. They say its an Encinitas problem, Encinitas say its a Home Depot issue. Who ever owns that problem need to get on the ball and clean up the overflowing trash bags. They say if a trash dumpster was to be put somewhere, every one would empty their car trash and fill it up!!!!!! This is one of the biggest grossing store, why cant they keep it picked up, so the guys can wait for jobs in a sanitary area.

Unfortunately, after years of shopping at this store, I made the mistake of buying an LG washing machine from them. It has been a nightmare of an experience. The machine never works, LG refuses to fix it and Home Depot claims no responsibility for selling a terrible product. They never return calls, never follow up, and obviously feel no responsibility for the quality of products they sell. Never, never buy an appliance here - go anywhere else. There are many other options near by with companies which actually stand behind what they sell.

Weve been Home Depot business and personal shoppers for many years but, this is the first time weve received exceptional service. Steve in the electrical dept. at the Encinitas store is customer service driven, knowledgable and managerial status. His attention to our electrical concerns helped us get our project going in the right direction. If we could rate him 1 - 10 stars, we would rate him 11. He is definitely our go to guy for all our electrical needs. Thank you Steve!

The paint department at this Home Depot is extremely busy. I waited patiently for an associate to finish with his customer. Unfortunately, I was ignored and never acknowledged. After waiting for nearly 20 min. I left. But its okay because it led me to go to Sherwin- Williams, which I now love and they recommended a great drywall contractor in which I wouldnt have met if it werent for your lack of customer support so, thank you!
