Dont let the modest store front fool you. This place has been reinvented! A welcome revival for Burlingame Ave. The Wine Stop recently added a beer and wine tasting bar in the back room, with weekly/daily tastings. I went to a Chardonnay tasting the other week and was happy to test high-end chardonnays with friendly pours for only $10. Burlingame needed this! Finally, a place for young trendsetters or established Burlingamers to flock to and mingle together while imbibing yummy wines and artisan beers. Not to mention you can purchase and cork or bring your own wine and cork it in the bar for just $10.

I found the Wine Stop by a recommendation from the concierge at the Hotel Sofitel in Redwood Shores probably a decade ago. Ive visited the Wine Stop at least once a year since then, to order a case of wine to be shipped back home to New Hampshire. I love being able to ask for advice along the lines of "pick out 8 reds, 4 whites, in the $15-25 range per bottle, and only vineyards that I cant get outside California". They have been unerring in their recommendations, and weve found quite a few new favorites and hidden gems in the process. Thats why I keep going back.

On the real, if you give this place a bad review, youre tripping. These guys have everything I mainly look for, but if you want easy to find cheap things. Then go to bevmo. Great prices and hard to find bottles. Ill be coming here a lot.
