I have to agree with Austins experience below. I found the staff to be extremely rude and condescending to me (once in the store and once on the phone) when trying to locate a label of wine that I had been told by the winemakers should be available in the store, but wasnt. K&L staff cut me off while I was speaking, had zero patience with my follow up questions as to how I could find the wine, and spoke to me as if I was completely incompetent and inconveniencing them with my questions. Not a pleasant experience in the slightest.

The shopkeepers are super lazy. They already close way too early for a liquor store and this store closes hours before official closing time. Plus the atmosphere of the store is quite dead and positioning of items doesnt make sense. Beer needs to be close to the entrance. There is absolutely nothing additional available. Not even some chocolate bars to pair with all the wine. Even though the pricing is great, you will have to operate in their lazy store hours to make any use of it. Just lack of passion and work ethic.

Always nice to have a fully stocked place to gather wine, whiskey and other liquid libations, plus prices and knowledgeable staff that cant be beat. This is my go-to place as I can check inventory online prior to arriving at the store, but that never stops me from perusing the liquid eye candy based on the wonderful layout of their items. This newer location, compared to the old, makes this a great place to shop without bumping into the other patrons that are shopping likewise. Keep up the good work guys!

Been coming here for years -- its my favorite wine shop in the Bay Area for exploring new wines, because the staff are so knowledgeable. They also have a great website, so I usually come in armed with some potential targets, and talk to some staff to get more info about whether Im likely to enjoy something, or if they have other suggestions. The new location is much more spacious and attractive than their previous location, which makes it all the more enjoyable to visit.

Phenomenal prices on wonderful bottles, and an alluring inventory that will satiate any palette. They had some fun Bandol Roses, including Domaine Tempier, and that is lovely. Nice sparkling selection with fair pricing. Their Willamette Burgundy section pleased me, deeply. It is easy to pretentiously ramble on, but their staff would make it simple: How can they help?, what do you enjoy?, have you tried this? and more unpretentious treats.... What a great spot.

K&L is the best wine store in San Francisco. They have an incredible selection of wines from around the world- many that are VERY well priced. Try finding another wine store anywhere with multiple Bordeaux from the 90s that are under $50. Any country that makes decent wine- K&L will have their wines. The staff knows their stuff, and the Saturday tastings are awesome. My favorite wine store for sure :)

Amazing selection of wine and spirits (great whisk(e)y selection) for great prices. This is NOT a discount shop. They sell premium, rare, and exclusive stuff. Youll also be able to find staff that are passionate about their selection. Other: wine AND spirit tastings multiple times a week directly from the wineries or distillers Dont need to go to BevMo anymore.

Ive ordered tons of wine from K&L. They generally have pretty competitive prices and knowledgeable in-store staff. However the team that runs their phone lines can be incredibly rude and unhelpful. A good option if you live locally and pick up all your wine in person but save yourself the hassle and dont order wine online or over the phone.

If you need a decent bottle of wine or champagne but are not sure what to get, come here. The staff is really helpful in suggesting wines at every budget level and doesnt make you feel like an idiot for not knowing much about wines. Plus its right next to the Caltrain station so an easy stop if thats how you are getting into the city.

Excellent wine selection with reasonable prices! One of the known wine stores in the city, where you can find any and all kinds of wines! Their staff is very knowledgable and helpful! They are not pushy. I love just browsing the store once in a while and pick random bottles to try... I have rarely found a bad wine :-)

My personal favorite store for alcohol and wine in San Francisco. They have the most competitive prices and a fantastic selection, plus everyone is really nice and not pretentious about anything. Just be weary that if you are a cocktail aficionado, they might not have all the odds and ends you are looking for.

Best selection of wines from all over the world! Often times K&L will get a 95-point wine imported from another country that they sell for $9.99, or have rare vintages in stock. Additionally, online auctions are available for the connoisseur or those with refined tastes. Great value for a nice wines.

Although Im not a big fan of some of their employees who can be a bit dense, this is by far the best wine shop in San Francisco, with a great selection of both US and international wines that are generally worth trying. Whatever youre looking for, youll most likely find it there.

The number one place to get wine and booze in the city. They have everything, they can get what they dont have, and they know everything about wine and booze and they love to help people. The prices are acceptable considering this is a premium place

Best wine and liquor store in San Francisco. Fantastic in-store shopping experience, but even better is a website loaded with detail and information on their available wines. Excellent selection of top South African wines and well worth trying.

K&L deserves its pristine reputation as *the* place to buy wine. Combine the vast selection of bottles with the encyclopedic knowledge of the staff and you have the absolute go-to place for grape juice. Pricing is extremely reasonable too.

A well-stocked purveyor of wine, beer, and spirits from around the world. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and a website that makes ordering simple. And they will hold your purchases for pickup for 90 days (if you can wait that long! )

Have been a customer for years, great wine buyers, detailed knowledge of most wine regions of the world. Each staff member specializes in one region, so ask for that person if you have a detailed question. You will be impressed.

Knowledgeable about both wine and spirits, a variety and prices that cant be beat. Check out their reserve spirits program to find otherwise unknowable releases from the delicious back storerooms of Scotland and elsewhere.

Great staff. Always a huge inventory with new wines in stock weekly. They will ship orders from their other stores within 48 hours for free. Usually you can pick up an order from stock at Redwood City the next day in SF.

Best wine and spirits in the bay area. Maybe not the prices of bevmo but amazing selection, particularly of nice finds at good prices. Also some vintage stuff for sale. New location has great parking.
