It was definitely a 5-star experience. I was so relieved to be able to buy from Tempe Honda, who I intended to buy my car from. I went to Autonation Honda to see what they could do and they were very pushy and aggressive. They would not let me leave their dealership. I told them that I just needed some time to think about it and they kept telling me that I was just going to go back to Tempe Honda and buy from them. That was exactly what I was going to do because I felt more comfortable there. They lowered their price down to $18,500 and thats how they got me to sign. When I went home to get my trade-in (really wasnt expecting to buy from Autonation Honda), they called me and told me that they did not have the black interior that I wanted. Phew! I got to leave with their numbers and got exactly what I wanted from the dealership that I would prefer to do business with. Everything worked out so well for me because the people at Tempe Honda were so great. They werent pushy at all. I was very impressed by Abdul. He was very knowledgeable about the car and was an excellent salesman. I had just had two bad experiences at the two Toyota dealerships earlier on in the day and was so pleased to see how great Honda cars were in comparison to the Toyota Corolla that I had been looking at. The car salesman at Toyota didnt really tell me much of anything about the car, didnt tell me where to go during the test drive, and paled in comparison to Abdul. Abdul was very kind and pleasant to work with. Chris Rodriguez stayed late and worked on getting me good numbers to work with. Rich Wykoff didnt pressure me at all. I was definitely expecting to be pressured to buy the gap insurance, extended warranty, etc. Everyone was just so nice and made my car buying experience a very pleasant one at Tempe Honda. Having those bad experiences at the other 3 dealerships that I visited, really accentuated the great experience that I had at Tempe Honda. I will try to find ways to get people over to Tempe Honda. Autonation Toyota hid my uncles deal for the Toyota Corolla that he bought 6 months ago. Eli said that sometimes they purge their records, but my uncle JUST bought it. The info was not under my uncles cell number, but under my aunts husbands number. All of the pricing info for their deal was gone. Autonation Toyota DELETED my uncles records. Rusty, the manager over at Big Two Toyota, made it seem as though I had lied and made up the price that my aunt and uncle paid for the Toyota Corolla. Rusty said that they didnt have any of the LE Ecos and neither did Autonation Toyota because he called them. Rusty also said that they sold 100 more cars/mo. than Autonation Toyota. He had kind of a jeering/sarcastic attitude toward me. Two bad experiences with the Toyota dealerships led me to Tempe Honda, which is where I ultimately bought from.

In 2013 My parents got me a New 2013 Honda Civic Sedan. Which was leased. That lease was scheduled to be up in August of 2016. Only 3 more payments left which would qualify me to do the pull ahead program. Or for them to at least buy the vehicle off of us. I was looking to trade it in for a New Civic Coupe or Accord Coupe. I went in a couple times and worked with a gentleman each time, Who had a thick Russian Accent and was near to impossible to understand, Whos name i cannot and do not want to remember. He was rude, wasnt willing to work with us or even get off his lazy butt and do something to help a potential customer. I also work in new car sales at another Car Dealership here in the valley, and providing excellent customer service to customers is a way to gain sales, referrals and good reviews. This gentleman lacked product knowledge and the ability to do anything to sell a vehicle. He kept saying in my "7 or so years this has never been possible".. Well, He was saying Honda would need to schedule to inspect the vehicle which could take weeks. And there wasnt anything else to do. My dad and i asked to speak to a manager and he refused to get him. My dad and i thought we would return to the same dealership where he was treated amazing in the past, to return our business with them. But that was short lived. He Argued with me and my dad, and because of him and the lack of ability to be professional, we took our business elsewhere. The same night too. We went over to autonation and not only purchased a touring civic coupe in the color i wanted, but they also bought my 2013 Honda Civic off of us. Where we dont have to make a single payment or payoff fee anything. AutoNation got us the deal we wanted, we spent hours negotiating, but we left happy and now i am a proud owner of a new 2016 Honda Civic from a dealership that knows how to treat their customers and would not pass up a deal and work around the trade. This is coming from Someone who does new car sales, Who knows what is like to be on the other side of the deal. And i am saying if you want to be treated properly, with respect. Then go buy a new Honda at autonation. They will do everything in their power to get you the deal you want and on the car you want. To say i am disappointment with both of my recent visits with tempe honda, Is an understatement. The only reason why i am even giving this place one star is because it doesnt give me the option to not put a single star.

While in the market for a new-to-me car early in this year, Tempe Honda was recommended to me by my co-worker (and when the Head of New Business Development tells you that a dealership has honest salesmen, you tend to listen). I went in, fell in LOVE with a 2003 Jag that was for sale at a very good price, bought it, and drove it home the next day. The salesperson WAS wonderful and my experience at this point was great. I took it for a test drive that night (a cold night in February) and my biggest concern was "does the AC work?" (Hey - I spent one summer here in Phx without AC and Never. Again.) He assured me that it did, and I turned it on to test it. It blew cold from the start - not surprising given how cold it was outside. Heres the thing - the warmer it got outside, the warmer the AC air would blow. Took it in to have it checked once those lovely Arizona temps got up to triple digits, and found out the AC compressor is shot. Went back to the service area at Tempe Honda, and was told "What do you want us to do? We wont fix it for free. YOU mustve broken in; it worked when it left here with you." (And yes, those are ACTUAL quotes from throughout our conversation.) When I asked how I couldve broken something I hadnt used, I was shrugged at. The gentleman did say hed "try and give me a better price" than Id been previously quoted after I asked him about it blowing cold when cold, etc, but the price he gave me ended up being several hundred dollars higher than Greulichs (seriously?). He "spoke to his manager," or so I was told, but the manager never came out to address the issue with me for the entire 40 minutes I sat in the dealership. I also asked to see the service records, and needless to say, I dont have them. (He did read a few things off to me, but -nothing- to do with the AC.) So, here I am - dropped 10k on a car without a working AC, and no help from the dealership. My guess is that because the AC blows cold when its cold out - and it was cold when it was brought in - no further tests were done. Had they been, perhaps that AC compressor wouldve been fixed, I wouldnt be hot and utterly miserable, and I wouldnt be leaving a poor review for the dealership. I do plan on mailing a letter to the GM - and above, if I dont hear back - so Im cautiously optimistic that Ill soon be able to come back here and tell the intrawebs how happy I am that my problem was fixed properly.
