I went yesterday afternon for regular grocerie shopping with a friend. Since we walked there was someone following us through all the store. But we never knew why. We keept shopping and we payed. As we were walking out the store this big african american man grabed my friends purse trying to take it away. She didnt know what was happening beciase she doesnt speak english. Late a hispanic man asked what was happening and told her that " they saw us putting makeup in our purse". My friend asked to go in the store so they could check we didnt take anything. He just said go open the purse. Take in note we were outside in the street, while he was still grabing my friends purse. That was the most emberrasing experince i have ever had! That man had no iniform, no security tag. We were scared, it looked like he was going to rob us. This were cleared, my friend opened her purse and he went back inside. We did not even get an appology for the embarrassment. I officially will not ever go to this store.

I should have looked at the reviews for this safeway location. I needed to go to a grocery store, for us folks that work nights. shopping experience was a 5 stars, store cleanliness 5 stars, customer service at checkout -1 , horrible experience. self checkout was closed, lane 2 light was on, no one there, cashier comes over "guy this lane is closed", I said the lights on, she dais lane 3 is open (light was off and a cart with cardboard blocking) I told her its blocked and the lights of, she said well its open, Im guessing you dont have to have good customer service or brains to work here. I have been going here for years. Since the removal of the self checkout every time I have been to this location there are 20 people in line with 3 cashiers and one register down. There is never enough staff on hand to handle the amount of people there for a quick purchase and this has been going on for months. I have even called in to complain about this before writing a review and apparently have not been heard. Would like to come back but dont think I should have to wait in line for 20 minutes to buy 5 items. Costco is much better.

The manager is absolutely horrendous and doesnt know how to stand up for loyal customers. Ill never shop here ever again. I strongly suggest new management or this store wont last. She handled a grown man attacking a pregnant woman and toddler by BANNING the pregnant woman from the grocery store, causing a huge scene and refusing to listen to the incident she admitted she couldnt "hear". I used to shop there everyday.... Nobody I know will be going back there. Absolutely horrendous and humiliating.

If I could give negative stars I would. Since they have removed the self-checkouts the wait time to get out of the store is a minimum 15 minutes. Im not lying, literally 15-20 minutes in line, if not more, every time Im there and doesnt matter the time of day. The management has no sense of urgency and holds no one accountable. It was so much better when they had self-checkouts because at least I could check myself out and not have to wait on their slow, unattentive and incompetent staff.

This store turned me into a loyal customer, I could always find what I needed, great deals, the meat they put on manager special is never to close to expiring. The staff is great. I only had one bad experience, I tried to get a roll of quarters and instead got a spiel about store policy on Sunday, but I went back later that day and another clerk didnt hesitate to sell me a roll of quarters. Anyway, the store and staff are great.

I went in looking for corned beef and they said they were out of the packaged stuff but had the meat and would tell me how to make it. I get home begin to cook and a few hours into it realize he didnt give me corned beef. He gave me a crappy cut of beef. I have been boiling a crappy cut of beef for the past 3 hours, gross! Straight in the garbage! I am really angry that they just blatently lied to me!

Used to be my go to store. Then they ripped out the self checkouts for a "better customer experience", so now I stand in long lines every time I go there. Which is hardly at all anymore. Why would you go from 4 self checkouts to 2 express lanes?! Making me wait is NOT a better customer experience. Im not here to hang out with the cashier, just to get my food and go. I dont waste my time here anymore.

Ive been shopping here for two years. They took out self check out. Why? They have 2 express lines and the staff move very slow when there are large crowds of people. I just stood a total of 11 mins in line!!!!!!! Its called express not slow motion. The food is way over priced and they dont have a good selection of meat.I only go when I dont feel like going to Walmart and for Srp.

The seafood department is very slacking. I go there on Wednesday afternoon to get their sales on Seafood. Its never in the display case. I must ask for it and then wait while they dig it up wrap it label it and put out 10 at a time while Im standing there waiting period Then with all the nerve they tried to sell me something thats not the product do you get my drift?

The store is clean, and the prices are average. Checkout lines are always long and they dont have self checkout. I frequently see people in the store with dogs in their shopping carts as well as the small hand held baskets so I never get more than I can carry in my hands/arms. The neighborhood is not the best, so expect someone in the parking lot ask for money.

Decent store and havent really had any problems. I recently had a horrible visit to the pharmacy and I will never go back to this store. The pharmacist there is so rude and sarcastic. I went there to get some help and have my wifes prescription filled and he was just rude as hell. Ended up going to frys. Probably going to start shopping there too. Dont go here.

I like that they are close to me so for convenience they would get 5 stars but the fact that they are so expensive and no longer have self check out... Im always waiting in a line it seems. Also the customer service woman isnt very friendly... She borderline RUDE. But strawberries were on sale CHEAP so it made everything kk! :)

I like this Safeway because its close to Sycamore Station where I transfer from the light rail to the Broadway eastbound bus. Im always able to get in and out of this store in less than minutes. This includes the time it takes to get through the checkout. The clerks are always SUPER friendly and the bathrooms are clean .

Its decent but generally pricier compared to Frys down the road. The bakery is good but I dont trust the deli here. Update: I think theres a new manager in the deli because things seem much cleaner and the food is fresher from when I wrote this review at the beginning of 2017. Level up from 3 to 4 stars!
