Its not a bad place, its not a great place. They have a fantastic, and unusual selection of produce, as well as some really cool snack, and drink items! Is it truly international? NO! Are the prices fair, and competitive? Absolutely not! However, if you want to spend some time wandering through, and trying some new things, its a good spot to start. They have a nice selection of Indian spices, and various cooking necessities if youre looking to try that. Otherwise, its a larger square foot version of Mekong market down the street, and most of the time Mekong is better stocked, so keep that in mind. This place does have a couple of cute shops inside run by independent owners, one has cute, inexpensive handbags, and jewelry, and another is a Korean cosmetic shop run by a very nice gentleman... Great folks! Worth a visit if youre looking for a hard to find Asian item, but dont expect a true international experience.

I used Shop and my Asian stuff shopping at Mekong but after this new spot recently open I started going there more often (AZ international Market) because its convenient and I like the openness floor design not to crowded. But after the last experience I had notice product arent as fresh and old. What made me more furiousis that the last 25 lbs of rice three ladies jasmine ive purchased we was just flat out gross ! as we almost finish the whole bag down to the bottom when I was getting to scoop to cook it, I observe a ball of mold that looks like a dead rotten. To my shock and disgusted out of my mind. I cant believe I have been these crap to my family.. My appetite was just destroyed for weeks after the experience. I stop eating rice for a weeks. Now we purchased our rice from an organic store just to be safe. I never went back there and will never shop again!!!

Disrespectful employees. When I walked in the store The security guard asked me if I was going in the store I said yes, he asked me because he saw i had a bag on me but then realized that it was a small hand held bag then apologized (for his hostility). I smiled and accepted his apology. All the time many employees were revolving around us, the security and I. As i was walking away all the employees walked toward us telling the security guard not to allow me to walk in the store with my hand bag. He told them that he could not stop me from going inside the store since it is a small hand bag. All the employees were upset that I walked in. If you dare bring a small hand bag and make sure the the security guard is not there to protect you, you will find out what I mean, maybe it will make a difference if you were a guy.

This is the biggest, best stocked asian market I have seen. It is HUGE. It is still being worked on inside- like the small food court area, but that is just a small part. Prices are good. They have a 15% discount for military (need DOD ID card). The customer service person said they may go to 20%. They deserve a big thank you for this display of recognition and support. They have separated out Hispanic foods, Indian foods as well as African staples and commodities. And much more including a great produce department. They accept credit cards with a 25 cent service fee. I was looking for Kansui, a hard to find lye water for making Raman Noodles, and they had it at a great price! You need to go here and just look around, it is an education and a lot of fun.

Horrible experience. If I could give a negative 1 star rating I would. Communist type, wierd, unprofessional totalitarium experience. Approaced after I paid for the groceries by some managemental person about how my Walnuts were packaged and may scatter on the floor. How did this person even know that I purchased walnuts? Who cares? Wierd. Will not return. Walnuts were fine by the way and tightly packed The nut who came up to me after I paid for my groceries, not sure why he did that. I called and complained, but probably a family member and nothing will happen. either way, I will not spend my hard earned money in a communist oriented busibess in my American opinion .Dont put up with this crap. Respect to all is a must.

Dont expect to get great customer service here. Employees walk around, stare at you, and they dont say a thing. This place is huge and they sell a variety of items. (Hispanic and American products as well) Prices though seem to be much higher then the other Asian markets that are around the area. I stood 5 minutes at the dairy counter even though there was an employee right in front of me and two which seemed to be managers, standing next to me talking. I got a stare and that was my que to tell him what I wanted. No "how can I help you?" Nada. I didnt even get a thank you. The cashier was no different. Rude. Never coming back. This was my first and last time, byeeee.

AZ International Marketplace as opposed to Mekong is a lot bigger and wider aisles. The food they sell are comparable and they offer military discounts for veterans also. I asked one of the clerks and they said they are one and the same as the marketplace at Mekong. The poultry and seafood areas are clean and you dont see the machinery to cut the frozen meats like at Mekong. We had to pull several carts to find a clean shopping cart. Customer Service was on target and they have those automatic carts on wheels, unlike at Mekong. Overall, with Mekong just less than a block away, the options are more at Mekong, which is inside a shopping plaza.

First time here, and was suprised at how much stuff they carry. They have a big assortment of coconut water, thia teas, seafood, and the meat department has a big selection of fresh beef, pork, goat, and chicken meats and fresh and frozen seafood. The guys at the meat department were very helpful. There is so much stuff in there I took about 2 hours just looking at everything had. The only thing I was disappointed at was that some items didnt have directions or anything that would tell me how to prepare in English, but Im sure if I asked they would have explained it to me. Will come back for sure.

We traveled from the far west side of Phoenix to check this place out as we heard it was supposed to be International however when we got there come to find out really all they have is Mexican products which you can find at any food city and Vietnamese or Chinese products would you can find that any lens grocery on the Westside of Phoenix. Not worth the drive if you dont live closely to that area. Only positive was that there was some fruit in the produce section that I may have not seen in other stores but that was only a handful of them.

I give it 3 stars. I used to work here and know some things that wont let me go for a full 5. Unless theres a manufacturers expiration date on it, dont buy it. Otherwise they have awesome prices on produce, alcohol, and import cheeses. Any of the "Not Your Fathers" brands they will carry if you ask the grocery manager. It could be so much better, if they focused more on the full range of international, but hopefully theyll learn.
