I was a Frys shopper until I moved and this Safeway is 2 miles closer. It used to bother me that I wasnt shopping at Frys because I was convinced they had better prices but then I found the prices, deals and coupon policies are relatively the same. Plus, this Safeway is more than willing to give you a rain check on an item thats out of stock. I think there are a few couponers in the area who clear the shelf of a single item occasionally. The staff is always willing to accommodate though. If you have a WIC question, go to Jason. He is an expert at it and will get you in and out of the check out just as fast as a credit card transaction! Update: I posted a few years ago. Ive moved again. I still travel past 3 grocery stores to go to this one. They have an amazing selection of fancy cakes, tarts and cupcakes. I go here for specialty cupcakes for all my kids parties! Everyone asks where I get them.
I like the store for many reasons. The location is good. The parking lot is designed to where its easy to drive and find parking. Their prices are reasonable and they carry tons of products. They have a whole end of the store that make things fresh and instore...from subs from the deli or cakes and cookies in their bakery. So its a great place to shop when you need a few items or wanna shop for the week. And if you have any problems, questions ,or concerns....the customer service is great. Oh yeah, if you have their club card, they have a gas station out by the road that you could use your rewards to lower the gas prices even more that they already are.
I used to have an enjoyable experience going to this location because the people are friendly and I could self-checkout to avoid waiting in line. Now the store took out the self-checkout lanes and never has enough people staffed so most days you can expect close to 10 minutes just in line, let alone in the store. This was a poor business decision by Safeway corporate and management at this location has not responded by keeping more people working to handle the increased demand from reducing their register count. If I could rate them less than a 1, I would.
I have been a fan of Safeway for years. This store features a full service deli, on site sushi bar, full service butchery, fresh produce section including organic choices, a great liquor department and a pharmacy and a Sonora Quest lab. Prices are very good, especially if you join the stores buyer club that results in 30 to 40 percent price savings. You can even use the in store bank. Then use your purchase points to get up to a dollar a gallon off your charges at the gas station in the parking lot outside.
This was a 5 star store... Until they got rid of self checkout. I heard several different reasons why from Albertsons does not want it to the new credit card readers to they wanted more interaction with customers. I was told there would never be more than 3 people in a line or they would open a new register... Wrong! I can no longer go in to pick up an item quickly, which is the main reason I went there. I loathe the no self check out!!!

Used to like going here despite Safeways high prices because it was fast and very convenient. Now they have gotten rid of their self checkout counters and they expect you to pay more than you would elsewhere AND wait in lines behind people with large buggies and chatty cashiers who are scanning the items slowly. I wont be back. 67th Ave Frys and Walmart isnt a bad drive at all, since there arent many lights on Happy Valley Rd.

Staff are alway polite, but hard to find. Common items are out of stock or never stocked (Orange Juice with pulp, Minute Maid lemonade.) Staff ask if you found everything, but dont know what to do if the answer is "No". Listen politely to suggestions, but you can tell theyre not paying attention. Better to shop at Wal-Mart....
We moved in the area a few months ago. We shopped at the Safeway in Vistancia. It is a great store & loved an associate named Rhonda. Well who would have known, but Rhonda transferred to this store!!! My family shops here all the time! It is wonderful to see a familiar face. The manager Rhonda is fabulous!!!
Interdimensional Healing Light • Joyful Stones
I have called several Safeway stores looking for a specific cat food. The woman who answered was way nicer than the other stores .... took the time to walk across the store and look and get back to me in a polite manner. When we are in this area we will definitely shop here!
I like the store, however they got rid of the self-checking lanes, which now cause longer lines at the regular cash registers. The "3 people in line - we open a new cash register" policy doesnt always work. But I love their in-store US Bank branch that is open 7 days a week.
Its huge and its Clean . Everything is front faced and the store has a nice lay out. Their bakery as well as the deli has a wonderful choice of prepared meals . They even offer a wings bar. Many types of buffalo wings to choose from. Its a beautiful store really

This store always smells like fish! It is a simple solution, just change out the Ice in the seafood nightly and that awful smell will go away. I hate going into this store and if US Bank wasnt in there I would never go in there, because the smell.
Have been shopping here for the past 3 years. Now that they have rearranged the store and removed self check out, this place has gone downhill. No longer convenient. I shop at Frys now. Way better.
Nice and clean. Bakery is a little limited and geez the cinnamon rolls really need a little more frosting...why so stingy?? They need to be trained by staff at the 67th and Beardsley location.
They have great deals sometimes. I had hard time activating my membership with them for some reason my phone number would work at the checkout and had to contact customer service to correct it.
Very clean and well kept store. The deli and bakery have great fresh items to choose from. Customized sandwiches can be purchased in deli area as well as soup, and fried chicken.
What they have is good quality, but they are very slim on healthy choices (organic, no preservatives choices, no gmo choices) and they are the highest priced choice in our area.

Very friendly environment! Only issue I have is they removed the self service for paying. It gets extremely busy around 3-6 and there isnt enough cashiers open to help you.
Fast, friendly and always clean. Today I noticed a sign that said if there are more than 3 people in line they will open a new register. That is good customer service.
A lot of new staff with bad attitudes. Ever since Albertsons bought Safeway the prices have gone up and service has gone down. Used to be a great place to grocery shop.
Their sale tickets are misplaced;check your receipt because you will be overcharged without knowing it. Lines are long and they overcharge for basics if not on sale.
