The place to stock up. It has the best deals around, but of course you need a costco card and they say you cant bring anyone else in that isnt immediate family living with you. I never see much staff around, but you dont really need them to find what you want. Its always nice to sample all the things they have, but dont wait around just to get a free sample because then you become the person crowding up the isle. The food they have is good. I tried the Salmon once and really liked it. Checkout is always quick too. The thing they do when you leave, where they mark a line down your receipt saying the stuff in your cart matches, is useless and a waste of time. Nobody Ive seen does anything but take a quick look at the card and then draw the line.

Tried signing up for a membership in the past. I expected a certain amount of upsell on the membership level, that is the unfortunate reality of buying things at this point, but I did not expect the hard sell. The employee was too insistent in pushing the Executive Membership and became insulting when I continued to attempt to get the basic membership. She eventually asked me "Do you just like wasting money?" After taking a moment to digest what she had said, I tore up the application and went across the street to the Woodmans and did my shopping there. I choose not to support retailers that foster this kind of sales environment.

While shopping here we noticed the double bottles of pine sol cleaner where right next to the double bottles of cranberry juice in a center display. It looked very much like cranberry and apple juice next to each other. There were two employees down the isle right next to it so I mentioned to them someone could easily mistake the cleaner for apple juice especially if they have any impairment. After we left my wife and child told me that the employees mocked and laughed while I walked away. We dont live in sun prairie but we went there after every doctor appointment my child had. I wont be going here again.

I was so excited to get my first Costco membership but my experience started on a sour note due to an overly-pushy sales associate at the membership desk. She kept trying to upsell me the Executive membership and I had to explicitly tell her no three times before she dropped it. She tried to argue well why wouldnt you want to upgrade for an additional $55? Um, maybe because $55 is a large out-of-pocket amount for some people. Its $55 that Id rather spend on groceries... It was a bad start to my Costco experience. Luckily, I bought some bulk pretzels and a $1.50 bratwurst to make me feel better ;)

Its a Costco with all that entails. A membership based store with a wide range of bulk goods including food, clothes, furniture, car service, electronics, eyeglasses, pharmacy, etc. They treat their employees well, they have goods deals, a nice return policy, its well lit and its clean. This location is the smaller of two models the store comes in. The other location in Middleton is slightly larger. One thing most folks dont know about is they also offer members some online services like a discount on new cars, car rentals and advice on healthcare.

The Best Customer Service Ever!!!! No matter how good prices may be, I will not go to a store with poor customer service. Costco not only has good prices but the employees are what brings me and my family back on a regular basis. Employees are courteous, friendly and will go out of their way to help me with whatever I need. Great store!

Absolutely love this place. They sell a lot of different things, from grocery to paper supplies to furniture and jewelry. Great prices for bulk buying, we always stick up on meat and freeze it. Lots of parking but its always busy, especially on the weekend. The membership fee isnt that bad for the value you get.

Good prices but inconsistent inventory, requirement for membership and ofcourse buying in bulk is not always the best choice. However the worst is the "would you like a box" question and the ridiculous superficial checking of the receipt when you leave the place.

This is my preferred Madison area Costco. It has a better flow and is better stocked than the West Side one. I really appreciate Costco and how it values its employees. They are all very happy, very nice, and very courteous. Good food, good deals, good samples. ;)

Trucking Crazy

One of the best stores I deliver to. Nice staff, fast and there is lots of stuff within walking distance if your delayed. Not much area to park but its manageable. If you park behind the building dont idle your truck as the neighbours complain about it.

This is your typical Costco. If they have what you are looking for, it is often a good deal. Be careful. If you dont mind buying off brand products you will often find lower prices (for example for food, prices are lower at the nearby Woodmans grocery).

First time Id been to that Costco. Went on a Friday and they were out of red potatoes and cabbage. It just felt like they were running short of many things when I looked at the shelves. Maybe Costco should look at sending them more product.

I like Costco, from the products including great produce and other fresh food items (Tuna steaks - never frozen!) to hardware, beer, wine etc. all the way up to the company philosophies on how they treat the staff. I get why people are loyal.

Amazing prices, helpful staff, and a parent company that doesnt suck. I love going to Costco, and I do my shopping there whenever I can. They dont necessarily have a ton of brand selection, but you can get huge amounts of what they do have.

Love it especially the frozen section. Since I buy for a small group some of the bulk purchases are not as feasible. I also have a hard time resisting the bakery since their chocolate chip cookies are some fo the best I have had.

Not as good as Sams club. Service desk staff do not follow through. Cannot count on buying the same products visit to visit. Meats are low grade and pricey. Woodmans has better handicap accessibility and mobility carts.

Decent amount of stuff. They had almost everything I wanted at competitive prices. I was a little sad at the kitty litter options. I only had two choices, so I was basically closing between clumping and non clumping litter.

East side Costco rocks. Staff is always friendly, and I look forward to going there. Comparatively the Westside Costco, I dread the experience. Keep it up east side, I love you! Also the Costco pizza is really amazing!!

Yes, its a Costco: big, bustling and brimming with bargains. Even though the checkout lines can get long here, the well-trained staff makes sure they move quickly. Hint: if you can visit at off-peak hours, do!

Costco is the best. Great food, great wine, great booze, great clothes, all at super affordable prices. Also, they participate in Google Express so even if you dont live close by you can still benefit.

Affordable and clean. Love how fresh everything is. Shopping in bulk is overwhelming at first but after 2 years, i rarely buy much at other grocery stores. I just wish they would come to Janesville.
