This has to be the worse experience w/ a bike shop I ever had. I live in Shorewood and for convenience sake; I brought my bike into Rainbow Jersey to get a tune-up. When I went to pickup my bike the 1st time, there were two people in front of me. I waited 10 minutes for the 1st person to get serviced. I then waited another 10 minutes while the 2nd person was being attended to. They never acknowledged my presence or asked why I was there. They continued to work with the previous customers on their problem while making me wait. All I wanted to do was pay for the tune-up and pick up my bike. So, after 20-30 minutes of waiting, I left. I came back the next day to pick up the bike. I noticed that they took my quick release seat post clamp and replaced it with a cheap crappy one that was not adjustable. I confronted them about it and asked for the part back. The store associate said they no longer had the part. They then had to order a new one for me. It has been over a week and I’m still waiting for a call. Rainbow Jersey has the worst customer service of any bike shop I have ever experienced. I will never bring my bike to Rainbow Jersey ever again and neither should you. They have lost my trust. Learn from my mistakes and take your bike somewhere else to be serviced.

These guys are great, and they know what they are doing. I do most of my own wrenching on my bikes, but I bought a beautiful used bike with some really odd parts that I couldnt figure out within the time constraints I had. The bike has S&S couplers with cable splitters, an adjustable American Classic bottom bracket that isnt being made any more, linear pull brakes that I couldnt get to work without chattering, etc. I brought the bike to these guys for a tune-up and they did everything perfectly. The other thing I dont do on my bike is true the wheels. Bring your wheels to these guys, and you wont have to have them trued very often. I bent a rim a while ago and brought the wheel in to these guys to have it rebuilt. They did a wonderful job. Ive got a season on the wheel now, it is still perfectly true. Whenever I stop in there for some odd part, like a washer for my pump head, or parts to rebuild my 10-year old pedals, they have it. I cant say enough about these guys. Its a small unassuming shop, and they dont carry the latest and greatest carbon fiber wonderbike, but if you need a nice bike or if you want your bike worked on by someone who knows what they are doing, come here.

I brought my bike there for an annual tune-up. I picked it up in about 10 days. I almost got into accident because my break was not working. Then I looked more closely and realized that nothing had been done. My chain was rusty, tires soft, shifter unoiled, lines dry (they were supposed to be oiled) just like I brought it in. I realized that they may have forgotten to do it, so I brought it back. To my surprise the guy who took my order tried to persuade me that the bike was done! He said that he only forgot to do the breaks. I tried to explain to them that I am not an idiot and had been biking since I was a child. They seemed to not care, did not give me refund nor took my bike back. Even though the shop is right by my house, I am now going to different a place.

I entered the shop with my personal bike (carbon hard-tail MTB), and gently leaned it next to a row of comfort hybrids. I did so because there wasnt a dedicated place to leave it while I shopped. I took note of my crank arm and bar-end position to make sure my bike couldnt possibly damage any of their product. I came back to my bike after shopping, and found it laying on the ground drive side down :( My bike didnt fall to its now horizontal position because the act would defy physics due to me leaving it drive-side towards the bike row. My spendy hard-tail was moved by an employee (which I would have had no problem with) and laid it on the ground...on the drive side. Pretty disrespectful to a potential customer, and not the best way to leave a bike..

Jerry runs a solid local bike shop, with great brands and reliable service. I am loyal to Jerry partly because of the great service I have received int he 25+ years I have been a customer, but also because he has been a leading supporter of bike racing in Southeastern Wisconsin for more years than I have known him. He hires good mechanics and they care about their customers. One of the things I value most about Jerry and his team is they try to get people onto the right bike for their needs. He leads people to good value for their needs, rather than to the coolest or highest technology.

I have been going to Rainbow Jersey since it was founded on Hampshire Street, many decades ago. The Pearce family has been part of the fabric of Milwaukee cycling for decades before that. This is a small shop, so dont expect a salesman to wait on you within 10 seconds like a car dealership. These guys are incredibly knowledgeable, fair, and dedicated. They will do everything that they can do help you, and fix any problem. I recommend Rainbow Jersey without hesitation. Andrew Mishlove

For merchandise, I find their prices are as good as the big Internet shops. I have been happy with repairs. The staff is knowledgeable. It’s too bad the previous poster did not have a good experience. Indeed, the staff will spend as much time as you need as a customer. Sometimes I have to wait a little when I get there, but it means the staff is spending as much time as another customer needs. I really like this shop. They are usually able to do small repairs while I wait.

Ive taken my bicycle in to this shop several times for tune-ups and repair work. While Id really like for this to be my shop of choice, I wont be going there again. On two occasions, I had to return to the shop several times after work was done to have mistakes corrected. Also, the shop did not bother to call me with updates on the status of my bicycle. Frankly, this customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

Literal perfect customer service experience. I went in to purchase a new bike and everything from the customer service to the product knowledge to pricing to acquisition and set-up time was perfect. If you are looking for a bike product or service store in the Milwaukee area, look no further. This is the first review I have ever been compelled to write for these reasons.

Best mechanics in town. I am a pretty good bike mechanic, but the guys at Rainbow Jersey are always able to figure out how to fix the problem when I get stumped.
