When I brought in my bike, all that needed to be adjusted/fixed were my brakes. They told me it would be $25 to fix both the front and the back. A few days later, I got a call saying it was done but they had to mess with the rear wheel because there was a problem with it. The lady didnt go into much detail and said it would come to about $43. I wasnt too happy about that. Whatever, I went in to get it and the brakes were fixed. They then said that the front wheel had to be adjusted and the total came to $30. I was utterly confused but whatever it was cheaper than I had thought it would be. Heres where it gets good. I took my bike for a spin and the gears where definitely not where I left them. I was changing gears and as I rode, I consistently heard clicking. I had never had this problem before I brought the bike to them and I shifted through all gears seamlessly. I brought it back into them and asked them if they had to mess with the rear wheel or gears at all. They said no, but on the phone they said they did. Once again, I was very confused. So I told them I had never had the problem before I brought the bike in and the mechanic pulled out a rosary yelling at me that he swears on his rosary that he didnt touch the gears. I tried to reason with him but he kept yelling and threw me out. Needless to say, I will never be going back there again. Throughout this ordeal, they kept calling me Brian... That isnt my name... At all.... I would not suggest going to the bike shop unless you are severely desperate.

DO NOT GO TO THIS RUN DOWN STORE!!! Owner is a major you know what. I brought my bike and also my girlfriends bike into this shop last year to get a bike "tune up". Everything was fine, but my girlfriends front brakes were super tight. This year I brought the bike back into the shop and asked if he could please make the front brake much looser, because is was really tight when he worked on my bike last year. This guy went into a rant about how he will not be blamed for something he did not do. I tried to explain several times, I did not blame him for anything, and I was bringing my business back to him to fix my bike, and if I thought he did something wrong. Why would I bring my business back. His polish rant continued arguing with me about the wheel not being on correctly and that was not his fault either. This guy is way over priced also, I just wanted to keep my business in a local shop that looked like it could use some business. Now its very obvious why this shop looks so sad. STAY AWAY!!!

Consistently terrible experiences. These folks obviously have a type of customer (shall I say color?) they cater to. I have gone there on several occasions, trying to support shops in my neighborhood, but have been consistently treated poorly. They dont speak when you walk in, busy themselves with stuff behind the counter while you wait and then take care of folks that come in after you. Yesterday, I took in 2 bikes, got the usual treatment, and then after they took 15 minutes or back and forth to quote me $250 in repair, took care of a guy behind me whose repair came to $40. The place is grimy and I always get the feeling they are likely charging me way more than they should. I will not be going back. I took my bikes out of there, down to a shop in Oak Park where the experience was TOTALLY different.

Didnt have a single issue with the husband or wife who run this place. Came in, he was more than happy to show me whatever I had an interest in, wasnt pushy and even let me in the display area in front. Zero attitude, and I left without buying anything that day. Did some more research online on what BMX I might like, and came back the next day with my decision. He sold me the exact bike I wanted, even adjusted it a bit to fit my stature, and while he was going over it to make sure it was ready, his wife and I chatted for a few. VERY friendly Czechs (not Polish - get to know them and get it right, people), and I would be MORE than happy to visit them again! Thank you guys!

i wouldnt ask them to overhaul any bearings here - but then again they would probably outright refuse. but i am ok with that, as they are a convenient place to pick up the odd part and get simpler stuff done like having a wheel trued. an older couple has owned the place seemingly forever and i wonder what will become of one of my favorite bike shops when they decide to retire. i have had some great conversations with the two of them. we dont know each others name, but we know each other pretty well. great customer service and a fairly expansive array of bits and pieces of keep you rolling on down the road.

Very rude people. I went in to go get an inner tube changed and the man told me he was not going to do it because apparently my rim was "garbage" and that he did not want to be blamed for something he did not do. And kicked my father and I out just because we were looking around. Dont recommend going to that place. Go to Kozys cyclery on Milwaukee which has far better service and will get the job done.

Getting assaulted by a bike shop owner for changing a muddy tire on the sidewalk outside. Kicked my buddys rear wheel completely out of true and threw both of our bike while yelling and cursing the whole time, finally gave up chasing and harassing us down the sidewalk after we both put our bikes down and he realized he was severely outnumbered. He didnt even ask us to sweep up..

The staff at Grand Cycle go out of their way to help out a customer. I brought in my bike I had bought there for a tune-up and a repair. They fixed it lickity split, and didnt even charge me. They said it was a minor part and sent me on my way. I was very happy, especially when riding my bike that hums.

Worse bike store ever! The two people who work there (husband & Wife) are very rude people. When you buy a bike they give you one year free warranty and they wouldnt let me use the warranty. I will never buy another bike from them! But they do have a nice selection of accessories and part.

Very rude, they chase customers out, they sold me a broken bike, and refused to fix it. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF. Rudys is the better bike place to go. Grand Cycle refused to work on my bike because it was from Rudys.

Bike shop has been there since I was a teen. I just recently started riding again and needed a few things and stopped in. Older couple that work/own the shop were very nice and were very helpful and knowledgable
