I rented a book under B&Ns rental service. After returning the book to the Mayfair store, the Mayfair store refunded my book deposit on 12/20/12. Subsequently, I started getting emails from B&N that the book was not returned and that I would be charged late fees and a buyout/replacement fee. Obviously, I was shocked by this, especially when the deposit refund is documentation that I returned the book. I called B&N, went through a difficult fiasco, and demanded a full refund. Several days later they contacted me and REFUSED the refund on the grounds that I should have mailed the book back rather than dropped it off at a store. They claim the store lost the book and I am responsible. That makes absolutely no sense. I believe the stores acceptance of the book satisfied any responsibility on my part and overrode whatever "terms and conditions" I supposedly violated by returning the book to the store. What kind of company BLAMES THE CUSTOMER for a small thing like this? I have documentation the store accepted the book, and B&N still wont take responsibility. What kind of company is this?

They sometimes like to yell at me for ordering Doctor Who dvds, either lying that they dont have a specific title in stock even though it is right there on the shelf near their phone & theyre too lazy to look up & see it sitting there, or they angrily/arrogantly refuse to look up specific titles on their computer because, "I dont watch the show, I dont know the format, and there are too many of them." They like to play games & refuse to help or answer questions. They also like to argue & challenge my knowledge of my favourite musicians; they dont like the fact that even if Im younger than they, that I know more than they do about certain artists. I could go on & on. Sadly I have no choice but to shop here as they are the exclusive seller of some Doctor Who titles. Most books/other items are way overpriced, even on clearance.

Terrible customers service, the only time someone approached me is when they are telling me they are closing soon..than its all about being rushed out ( when still technically 15 minutes until close.) Most employees have little knowledge of what they sell, cashiers just ask if you have a rewards account but fail to explain it to get people interested, otherwise they just stand there looking unhappy and unproductive. I prefer the Southridge location if any to this...how about matching your prices to the online site.

Pretty generic B&N. Nothing really stands out about this one from all the others Ive been too. Staff is usually pretty quick and friendly and last time I went they were handing out 10% off coupons, which was cool. They seem to have a slightly smaller collection of books than I am used to for a B&N though.

Just yesterday, my sister and I were there when she had a seizure. She had no history of having them, so it wasnt expected. Everyone there was very helpful, especially a gentleman working there whose wife is epileptic. There is no other store that deserves such a good rating.

Ive been temporarily disabled in a wheel chair and the staff was super helpful in helping me find the books I needed. The baristas in the in-store Starbucks get an A++ review in my book too. They brought my drink to my table for me and everything. True customer service!

THE place to browse for physical books, which in todays world has become a dieing art. However didnt buy anything, considering the prices. 20-30% off new releases, but what if thats not what youre looking for? Time for a trip to Half Price Books. Sorry B & N...

Our favorite Barnes & Noble. The childrens section is fantastic, they even have events for the kids. We like strategy board games and they have a really good selection of those too. Plus, a Starbucks cafe if youre in the mood for coffee or tea.

Books are a bit on the pricey side for my taste, but they have a great selection. I really wish they had more sitting areas upstairs, but overall its a cozy environment to grab a book and coffee from the Starbucks downstairs and stay a while.
