compared to other places in the area they are way over prices and the quality of the items are most of the times very poor. Ive have multiple experiences of having very rude employees. I used to like the deals but now they are almost triple the price of what they used to be before they expanded. Even selling items is awful. I sold some collectible items and got a OK price but they they turn it around and sell if for so much more so I felt they jipped me on my items. Honestley I would rather go to Mega Media Xchange. Better prices and deals

Im not sure what the person below experienced, but Ive always foundbooks for half price or less. I even found a good bible commentary that goes for $80 for only $14. Maybe it was a collectable that he had. Its a great place to shop. If you have books to sell however they dont give you anywhere near a good price. It wasnt even half the price they sold the same books for. In fact it was less than $1 a book.I chose to give them away.

Do NOT sell any books or movies to this place. After turning in about 15 giant boxes of movies and books, they gave us less than $25 for ALL of it. It was about a penny per item. A COMPLETE rip-off and very rude staff. You are better off donating your books and movies to a library where they can sell your things to use the money for good. Or if youre looking for your own profit, youre better off selling your items in a garage sale.

Huge second hand book store (possibly the largest I have ever been in). Very well organized. As with any second hand shop, what is available depends on what has been supplied. Prices are good. Easy access for handicapped and the staff is very helpful. You can even submit your read books for a cash or credit allowance. (Note: the more copies they have of a particular book, the less they offer but that is to be expected.)

Their books they sell are a great price. The people who buy your books are slimy cars salesmen. I brought in three large bags of book, some were hard back, some were new and so forth... they told me that it was only worth 15 dollars for the lot. What a load of garbage. There was at minimum 50 dollars worth of book there. I left feeling like I was robbed.

Who doesnt love HPB?? They just remodeled to make it more customer-friendly, with the check out counter at the front now. The only negative thing I have to say about this location in particular is that they keep repeatedly cutting their adult clearance section, so now its half the size it was a year ago and 1/8th the size as the Brookfield location.

More like half priced crooks. I collect comic books. I saw a guy bring in a collection of about 3 long boxes. They offered him $125. Two days later I saw they had his comics for sale. X-men 101 ungraded $300. Saga #1 ungraded $150. These are valuable books,, yes. But sold at the graded markets top dollar? Come on now.

Mainly because the staff was very helpful in helping finding the book I was looking for. They didnt have it but they told me where I should try and they had it.I am not from the area, I am a Frenchman from Montreal, Quebec, Canada and I have appreciated the fact that I didnt have to drive to their bookstore.

Bought several books and got decent deals on all, including one clearance paperback for $3. Other titles I wanted were available elsewhere, and they were willing to order them for me, but the prices were a bit too high yet. Staff was courteous and helpful. Always a fun way to spend an hour or so

Great prices and typically friendly service. I tend to only buy books from them since there have been too many times Ive brought books and received practically nothing - seems better to donate at that point. I will continue to shop there for discounted books though!

I love this store. Extremely friendly, helpful & knowledgeable staff, very inexpensive books (paperback & hard copy), and good selection. It gets a little busy on the weekend, but its nice to see so many people interested in reading!

Nice selection of books, movies, CDs, games, and funny and interesting little toys. I recommend you go here if you want to find nice little treasures or if you want a good deal on books and CDs. Great, reasonable prices.

What can be bad about here? Books are cheap, you can find books you have been looking for for a long time. They dont pay much for books i am sure, because they are so cheap, and the internet is some serious competition.

Staff was rude and belitted me. Different staff told me different things. Dont sell your books here, donate them to a library or something and save yourself the trip... They give you next to nothing anyways.

Used to be a great location now staff is rude and offers on sellingv items had went down to next to nothing. Recommend forgetting about this location and taking the extra drive to the Brookfield location .

Been going here for years. Great selection and a staff that is fine and really loves books. Jason Berkowitz is a particularly great guy. Dudes been there forever and knows anything you could want to know.

You would think over time DVD prices are supposed to DECREASE... The $2 movie section is now the 3$ movie section... Plus all of the other overpriced used movies... Not going to shop at a greedy store.

I love coming to HPB. I usually can find what Im looking for and if I cant the staff is very helpful to find any book. Most of the time I walk out with a handful of new books, well new to me.

If youre going to go to a Halfprice Books, go to this one. The staff is much more helpful than the Brookfield location. The selection is better, as are the prices.
