I agree with Micah. The staff all talk to their customers like they are all 9 year olds. I once asked about a trilogy of fantasy adventure books, and the woman who helped me asked me several times about the name of the author, name of the book, and if I was certain I was spelling the name right. I said yes patiently, answered all her patronizing questions, and she still wasnt much help. Another time, they refused to give me a refund for a comic book I bought from them. I had read the back cover and saw only the first page of the book. I brought it back the next day, and explained the situation. The guy tried to tell me that I read the whole book, which was NOT the case. I ended up taking it to the Mayfair store, and they refunded me no problem. Another time, I was asked by 4 different associates why I was returning something. I felt like I was being treated like a criminal. All it was was I had gotten the same book from 2 different people. I told them this, but they wanted details. "Who bought you this? When did they buy it? Did they pay cash or credit?" Finally, I just gave up and again went to the Mayfair location, and again, no problems there. Bottom line: AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

I like B&Ns in general and frequent a few of the stores in the area. B&N stores are generally very good with decent Wi-Fi and customer service. This particular location is particularly bad. First, the location seems smaller compared to others. Very low ceilings give the impression it is very crowded. It is in a strip mall. So the parking is not usually a problem unlike at other locations - MayFair, Brookfield, Bayshore. That is one of the redeeming features of this location. Second, the Wi-Fi never seem to work at this location. At first, I thought it was just me. But, I overheard at least one person complaining about the Wi-Fi. I know, it is actually an AT&T Wi-Fi HotSpot, but the employees (in the cafe) didnt seem to be interested in or anything to do about it. Barrista snapped back that she didnt know what number to call to for Wi-Fi.

Horrible service. Went into the store to buy my wife a book for Christmas that she wanted. I did not know where to find the title in the store so I went to the "Customer Service" desk. This was my first mistake. There was a woman behind the desk who was greatly engrossed in a sheet of paper she had. She made no move to help. A second woman appeared who immediately helped the woman behind me. My second mistake was staying. Finally, the clerk put her sheet down, asked me what I wanted, and upon learning what I was after, ran off without a word. After wandering around, I found the book I was after. Shop Amazon. Your computer will give you better service.

This is the largest (and only non-religious) bookstore on the south side of Milwaukee that sells new books. (There is a large used bookstore about 2 blocks east of the B&N.) The staff is knowledgeable, there are reading areas and a section for children. Their collection is extensive. Other than ordering on line, there is no choice; all of the other brick a mortor bookstores have closed. In addition to books they offer maps, CDs, board games, calenders and a few other items. Parking is easy and the store is handicapped accessible.

The staff is super friendly and the cafe and its barristas are wonderful. Especially this one lady if you are a weekly customer like me she will recognize you and greet you with a warm hello. I agree that the only single outlet available sucks but if you are going to take and use your laptop charge ahead of time and if you need an outlet at that moment there are desks available scattered around the store with outlets available.

This is a great Barnes and Noble for reading while drinking a latte but dont bring your laptop if you need an outlet. Pros: The people are friendly and welcoming. The location is clean. Loads of books. Bright and open. Cafe has great food and A+ drinks! Ample seating in and out of the cafe. Cons: No outlets available in the cafe for laptops to be plugged in (and no plans for it in the future). Can get loud at times.

I like this Barnes and Noble. Clean bathroom. Clean store. My problem is with the cafe. Not clean. If you want soy or almond milk in coffee check the date on container and make sure they shake container. I have given up on their coffee. Trying to get a good cup is impossible. Really sick of their stale hard as a rock cookies also. Eat elsewhere. Ill go there for purchase books.

An atmosphere with light talking. Plenty of books for everybody in every age range. If you want to preview a book, just take it from the shelf and beginning reading. There is also a cafe for people who want to eat/drink something while reading a newly purchased book that they just got.

Not sure if theres a correlation, but it seems that everyone claiming the staff was rude, was at least only semiliterate. This is a fine store. Even better now that they fixed the lights in the cafe. Keep your amazon, Ill pick a real brick and mortar store any day.

EVERYONE that works here is rude af! They look and talk to you as if your an idiot, it was my second time there and it hasnt gotten better. If anything Id recommend ordering on Amazon if your looking for books. And if you dont want to be humiliated in public .

Its the ultimate bookstore. They have absolutely everything you could ever need and then some. If they dont have a book your looking for, they can order it to be shipped to your home or picked up in store.

Drove to this location from the racine WI one, which did not have the book I wanted. They placed their last copy on hold for me so I was able to walk in and grab it easily. :)

Can always find what Im looking for or not looking for. Staff is always super helpful and the stores organization is easy enough to figure out. Plus they have a Starbucks.

While I usually come to check out the toy and plush selection this place is well stocked in all areas. The magazine selection is amazing and the little cafe is delicious!

Theres something wonderful about going into a bookstore and perusing through the aisles of books - something tangible, rather than something virtual...

It is quite book laden. If I was an avid book reader, I would certainly be here. The Starbucks Oreo stack was amazing.

Been going here for years. Decent selection, could use more philosophy but sciencefiction section is large.
