Popular local grocery store, and the only one in the neighborhood. Slightly expensive for the area. Friendly staff, and an extremely good deli, offering top notch soups, sandwiches, pannini, and a burrito bar, as well as the usual spread of deep fried grocery store deli items. The meat department notably shines, with butchers on site, as well as locally smoked and cured meats. They offer attractively priced freezer packs of meats as well. The seafood department is limited in scope, but quite high quality. Produce department is well stocked, with most produce being a bit better than you would find at a larger chain grocery. The liquor department is well stocked, and well staffed, carrying a good selection of domestic, imported, and craft beer, wine, and spirits. It is particularly well curated for the limited shelf space available. It will never have the sheer scale of a larger chain market, but for a smaller grocery store, it has everything you could expect, and more. All factors that are within their control seem to be quite well managed. The only downside is that parking can be quite difficult during the busy times, though during those times they typically have someone directing traffic.

I love this grocery store when I can afford it. The stadium district has all the amenities required to be a self sustaining neighborhood with everything in walking distance including a real full sized grocery store; Stadium Thriftway, a pharmacy; Rexalls with a postal substation, a beautiful Park & Playground; Wright Park, Several great Restaurants, Coffee Shops, Gas Station, Bars, Taverns, Banks, and many small independent businesses, as well as Condos, Apt Buildings, Public Transportation and a Hospital or two. Stadium Thriftway has a great selection of all sorts of different food, produce, organic selection, theyve got an awesome deli, and an amazing staff and the only reason I didnt give it a five star rating is because it happens to be one of the most expensive grocery stores Ive ever been to in my life, so if you got lots of money its no problem but its not the best grocery store to shop in when youre on a budget, it is a little bit hamstrung by space so it doesnt have as big of a produce section as Id like either, but they have a great selection of beers and wines booze organic foods frozen foods and meats, but bring the gold card.

Overpriced. Mediocre Selection. Inconsistent customer service. My last 2 visits have been "fine" inside the store, but the parking lot security guard was so rude to me last week - I wont be back anytime soon. Rude, as in "scared my daughter rude". Which brings up a major point: one of the worst parking lots in the area, bar none. If you want to see what kind of problems our lack of street planning are going to have in the next 10 years, look at this parking lot and get a glimpse. The prices here are ludicrous. Shop at Met Market or Tacoma Boys and you will see similar prices with an exponentially better selection. Go to a regular grocery store and find the same brands for much less. The deli and baked goods are sub par. I bought some of the worst potato salad ever here last summer - thats when I stopped frequenting the deli. The main thing Im looking forward to with the boom in Tacoma is something like Trader Joes or Whole Foods pushing this store out once and for all. To paraphrase: let something superior skim off the dross.

We ordered 6 lobster on Thursday to be picked up on Friday for the Lobster special. We invited four guest for a lobster dinner. We went to pick them up on Friday and we stated we were here to pick up the 6 lobsters we ordered. They told us there were four in one bag and two in the other. When we got home there were only five. There was one on ice out front when we left and we could have grabbed that one if the staff was forthcoming that there were only five. To add injury to insult when we called the fish department there was no apology. The just said what do you want me to do we are sold out. I have 6 people for lobsters for dinner this evening a only five lobsters. They did not need to be so rude and unapologetic.

The selection is good, tho they do mark everything up from 30-40% over there nearest competitor. When asked about this, there Manager will even tell you, well the nearest other grocery is Safeway, if you wanna travel that far. So its not a hidden thing for them to say we are charging you more, and we are doing it because we can and will. As a potential investor, I can not in good conscious buy into a store that openly flaunts that they are price gouging people. If they dropped there prices they could make a better profit from the increase in flow that would happen from fair prices.

Stadium Thriftway is amazing yes it can be pricey but that is only based off if the location in which it is in. Great variaty from services given, whether its a choice in bag, help to car, assistance, interested in your day. The managers and employees are great. They allow certain high school students to work so they can go to college. They also everynow and then have disabled people or mental people work as well. Stadium high school staff.attends their, the local YMCA, Tullys, Francos tailoring. Point is, is that Triftway their is everything down to earth.

The food is so good here. Its perfect for the nights that you dont want to cook or go out. Its nice for indecisive couples that cant agree or when you are alone and want to cry and eat super nachos while people buy real groceries and go home to their loving families. I wouldnt recommend buying guide all of your groceries here. Just focus on the nice cheese selection and grab a scarf , some fancy chocolate and before you know it , you will have a bunch of accessories and no more money left. The staff is really amazing. They make this place feel like home.

I have been shopping here for over 20 years. While it is super convenient and has just about everything under the sun you could ever imagine, including many high-end items, it is at titch expensive and the parking lot is a bit of a hassle. The employees are always super friendly, though, and the deli has amazing food. Be sure and try the burritos and a homemade mac & cheese.

Got a problem with the prices? Go up the street to safeway where people are begging you for money, cupcakes have been stolen out of packages and you feel lile you have to look over your shoulder while youre shopping. Stadium is legit. Great food from the deli. Nice employees. And the people that can afford it shop there amd thaakes for a comfortable environment.

If you dont know about this place youre definitely missing a huge part of Tacoma. In the stadium district this is probably my favorite place. Tbere food is amazing and the workers are so nice and humble. Its a very different atmosphere than your everyday store. Its like theyre part of family. Been coming here since a child.

This store continues to impress me with its selection, if not its pricing. Its close to where I live, and I love that it has a good selection of organic produce and decent quality meats, as well as other random things that we may need in the moment. Such a great store, with wonderful people and great customer service.
