Our salesman "John" was the most arrogant, annoying, and unpleasant person to interact with, and thats relative to other salespeople! Perhaps it is unfair to judge an entire dealership by an individual, but restaurant critics judge the service based on the wait staff they had. How to begin? First of all, he took forever getting the keys to the Mazda3 for a test drive. Then he said that he needed to drive the car to the gas station because it was empty and blamed the lot personnel. Then he slammed the VW Rabbit (another car we were considering) saying that he would never, ever buy a Rabbit, but did he say anything good about the one we were in? Nope. Then he insisted on taking our personal car insurance information, informing us that if we got into any "accident" while test-driving our car, that we would be held responsible. We have never, ever been told that. And why would we be responsible? Because he couldnt be bothered to take the test drive with us. He was "too busy," (I believe there was one other couple in the entire dealership.) He claimed that "no one in his entire sales career had ever asked the dealer to ride with them," and that "EVERYONE would prefer to take the car for a drive by themselves." While that might be true, how many time has anyone ever been able to run around freely in a house for sale, unwatched by a real estate agent? So it seems that he was just too busy of a salesperson to deal with a new customer (unless maybe he was covering up a crime! His behavior seemed strangely reminiscent of a "Law and Order" criminal trying to cover his tracks all the while pretending to live a normal life...) He never called us back with any pricing or financing details, like we had requested when we left. He then had the gall to send us a post card, with the greeting "Hello Folks," and said asked when we would be ready to "move ahead on our purchase" and that he would "like to earn our Mazda business." Does the idea of piggies flying seem like a reasonable time frame? I believe that the first step to any business interaction is to actually INTERACT with them. Funny funny guy...

I have been a loyal customer of Toyota but with what happened recently, I started looking at different brands. After visiting Honda, Volkswagen, Subaru and Nissan dealership I was sick and tired with the way sales people treated me because all they care about was how quickly to sell their car and get their commission. The experience I had at University Mazda was different. A very friendly sales person named Frank was so patient hearing my concerns and answering all of my questions, spending 2 hours to make sure I was comfortable with Mazda Brand and understand the car I bought (Mazda 3). This is my 4th car but never met anyone who is so knowledgeable about cars(not only the ones they carry but also about other brands) and would spend great amount of time explaining about different functions and features. He was very polite, friendly, knowledgeable and wasnt pushy in any way, had a great sense of humor. The only negative experience was with the finance manager who tried to sell the extended warranty/protection program really hard even when I firmly said I dont want it. It came to the point where I started thinking if I should expect my new Mazda to break down in a near future. It was way too pushy and made me uncomfortable. Then when I asked her if she bought any of the protection programs, I found out she doesnt even own Mazda. But other than that, the overall experience was great and I would definitely thinking about buying next car from this dealership.

Ive bought many, many, many cars. No dealer can compare to University Mazda as it sits today. About 5-10 years ago, I would have said the same thing for Harris Ford, but lately.... Anyway. Our salesman was Gary Chairez, and having this guy around is like shopping for a car with your dad. Hes just there cracking jokes, helping you when you need it, and overall wasnt a shark! I was relaxed the whole time. He never put pressure down on anything in the transaction. Gary is by far the best salesman Ive ever met, because he wasnt really TRYING to sell me anything. He was informative, fast, and extremely friendly. He was aware of my needs, at no point did he try to patronize me for being a woman as happens too often, you know the type. They come at you like since youre a woman you automatically dont know anything about cars like-"Oh, are you sure you want the Mazdaspeed? The Mazda 3 is just as good, and IT COMES IN PINK!" He wasnt like that at all! Just friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Even better, he didnt make up stuff about a car that he knew nothing about, he said, "I dont know, but when we get back from the test drive, I will find out." Which he did. We will be coming back again. TL;DR Buy from here, deal with Gary Chairez, go home happy. The parts department is also outstanding. My husband has been going here for parts for years, they seem to have the best stock and know much more than your average Mazda dealer.

I have to say Im very disappointed with the service we received from University Mazda in Seattle. Shortly after we purchased our 2014 Mazda 3 sedan we noticed a "white noise" coming from the rear speakers. After many appointments we would either be told that they were unable to reproduce the sound and/or they did an update to the software. At one point we were told they installed a new amplifier - which didnt resolve the issue and later we found out that Mazda has no record of this ever being done. So we question whether or not this was actually done. We were even told that the sound is "normal." I had to disagree because why would Mazda make an irritating sound "normal" in one of their cars? Needless to say the issue was never resolved and we moved back to Colorado. The Mazda dealership in Colorado was able to fix the issue. Although Im not happy with University Mazda for multiple reasons, I will give them credit for fixing my car when one of their employees ran into something and dented the fender and scratched the mirror. I love my Mazda and I will most likely buy another - but I would not recommend University Mazda to anyone. There are many other Mazda dealerships in the Seattle area.

I leased my first Mazda here and had a great experience with Anthony Wilson. There was no pressure and no haggling that make your eyes roll back with irritation. I said I would look to University Mazda again when my lease was up. Just so happens I run into Anthony and asked about used cars because I was looking for my sons first car... He said let me know what year, miles, etc I was looking for. He got back to me right away! Had such an amazing car we couldnt pass up! Unbelievable actually! Everything was spot on. I said it last time and Ill say it this time, Anthony totally changed the negative experiences Ive had dealing with dealerships. Being a little lady going in by myself I always have my guard ready but that was never needed with Anthony. He doesnt have time to mess around and neither did I. University Mazda will receive my return business and will definitely refer my friends. Winnie the finance director was super efficient and friendly. Even down the the service dept. No complaints at all. Way to go!
