Dr. Benjamin D. Crowell was amazing. He put me at ease, informed me about tools and procedures, did everything he could to help me out. He himself laminated a card with my prescription on it, which is an incredibly helpful kindness Ive never had in any optometrists practice before. His office staff, though, was amazingly bad. Frequently there is no one at all at the front desk, even though there are at least four people on staff. They disappear while phones ring, customers wait for 30 minutes at a time, even when the doctor is looking for help. At one point a customer raised her voice after being ignored by a staff member for a solid ten minutes, then had to argue about whether or not she had an appointment. (She did.) When Dr. Crowell did find staff and ask them to replace my lenses, they told me to go get a coffee. I tried but of course, I couldnt see, so I quickly came back and busied myself in the office while I waited. After an hour or so the staff told me that they just couldnt cut one of the lenses and handed me back mangled frames. They didnt screw the frames back together completely and the lenses are now set at different, jutting angles, and only one lens is replaced. I asked if I should just go ahead and buy frames, as Id intended to anyway. They told me I should go elsewhere and buy them, since they wouldnt bill my insurance for frames. They had already billed my insurance for the exam, and they do take it; they just insisted I should go elsewhere to order frames. Ive never experienced that. I asked why they wouldnt bill for frames, as I knew it was covered, and they just insisted a third time I should go elsewhere. I asked if they had any specific place to refer me to, as my insurance sent me to them, and they sent me up the street to an unrelated business that does not take my insurance and was equally weirded out by the request. My insurance also found it inexplicable. Today I called to follow up and reached an answering service despite it being their operating hours. Im torn because I actually fell in love with a pair of Kate Spade frames they had in the office and Im willing to fork over $300+ over my insurances coverage, but they are making it incredibly hard to do business with them. Dr. Crowell, I hope you find better staff soon.

I am really happy with the services I received at Seattle Eye.The Staff were so helpful and knowledgeable that it made my experience that much better. I would say that this place has some great designer frames and the selection is wonderful. I really like their prompt service. The prices here are reasonable especially for it being located in downtown Seattle. I received my new frames and prescription in the mail in about a week and half which I think is a great turn around service. Will keep going back. Dr. Crowell is great too.

Heres the real secret about this place... If you go in, during business hours, and you dont buy their glasses... theyre still actually super nice. Theyre genuinely friendly, and not just trying to sell you something. They help you, they listen, pay attention to your needs, and will even clean and make minor adjustments to your personal glasses, while youre looking around. In Seattle? Thats unheard of. Its everything Ive been wanting from an optical store. Thanks to Rain, Im a customer for life. :)

I had a good experience with the doctor but the half that fills the prescriptions for the glasses are really terrible. They charged me 400.00 for someone elses glasses and was rude about it when I came back. They didnt even apologize for it... happens everyday? -1 for incorrect charge -2 for rudness -1 for not apologing and making me feel like I wasted my afternoon and coming back twice. +1 for a good healer in party.

The appointment was fine but when I called back later it was almost as if I didnt exist anymore. I tried calling multiple times with no answer (left messages with an answering service) and also tried emailing. My phone calls were never returned and my email went unanswered. All I wanted was my prescription information but now Id rather just get a new exam elsewhere rather than return to Seattle Eye M.D.s.

This place is definitely worth the visit! They have the largest selection of Oakley eyewear Ive seen in town! And, if youre a gamer like me, and want to protect your eyes, they carry some Gunnar brand products as well! When I went there I had three people giving me feedback and suggestions; A+ service! If youre in the market for new shades or glasses, check this place out, highly recommended!!!

Great staff, amazing group of frames to choose from, tons of lens options to get that perfect feel in any Rx frame even with a pair of sunglasses. Ive been helped by Eva and Tim, they both knew what would fit me best, work best for lens options and were super friendly the whole time. If you do need Rx glasses this is the place to go, they even have Maui Jim Rx direct from MJ themselves.

Dr. Crowell is awesome! I had issues with previous eye exams with another doctor (not at Seattle Eye MDs). Dr. Crowell saw me the same day I called to get an appointment. Excellent exam, he listened to my concerns, troubles, and questions. He was able to correct my vision issues. I left being able to see clearly, I havent been to for the last few months. I highly recommend him.

Rude..I bet the optometrist are nice but from just a very rude phone call from their staff I know for sure I will not waste my time here. The lady hung up the phone before I was even finished getting the information I needed and when I asked further about how to go about something she gave a vague answer and hung up. Not worth the time.

I have bought both prescription glasses (multiple pairs) and sunglasses from Seattle Eye M.D.s and had nothing but a great experience. From their doctors to their sales staff they were great to work with. Best selection of glasses in the city! If you need Maui Jim, Oakley, Tom Ford, Prada, or whatever! Visit Seattle M.D.s!

Went to check out this place last week because I heard they carry Costa Del Mar suns. The girl I talked to was very nice answering all my questions regarding my prescription. Unfortunately my prescription expired so Im going to come back next week. Everyone was chill, got a great feel here.

This is the only place I go to shop for prescription glasses and sunglasses. The selection is the best in town, and the doctors and staff are excellent. Do yourself a favor and visit if you get the chance, they have great frames!
