My daughter made a painting at school turned out really good - I took it to Michaels here in Lacey to have it framed.. it cost $79 and that is with a blue metal frame not a wooden frame :( They call me a little over 2 wks later I go in thinking I am going to pick it up only to see that the corners are not flush with each other- needless to say i was not happy , the lady i spoke with said she didnt frame it that someone new did and she noted that the glass had not been cleaned and that the backing wasnt sturdy enough. She said for me to leave it and they would fix it.. SO a week later I get a call "your frame is ready" I asked "are the corners flush does it fit together perfectly" he said "yes" when I went in to pick it up it looked the same! I told the girl I am not happy with this- I paid $79 (which is alot for me maybe not to others ) and the corners dont match up you can clearly see the gap at all 4 corners and she got irritated with ME! She mentioned that all of them had worked on it well I could care less about how many people worked on it.. I want it to look like an $80 frame job not something I tried to frame myself. Seriously is that too much to ask for? So I refused to take it again- they are reordering the frame and if they cant get the corners flush I told them to just have me come pick it up and give me a full refund. Its really irritating - and it looks great except the corners . ggrrrr

I am truly disappointed. I received an i miss you email coupon of $5 of your next purchase of $15....no where on the coupon did it state that the clearance items were not able to be purchased with this coupon as their other coupons state. Yes, the coupon had a long list of restrictions but clearance items was not on the list. Got to the resgiter with $17 in clearance merchandise and I was not able to use the coupon. The cashier was not overtly rude but did state that clearance items are the lowest price possible so how could you expect to use a coupon. Then after communication with whom I am assuming was the manager, it was conyeded to me that the exclusions list stated " ask sales associates for details" and that was the reason my rewards member coupon was not valid. I have been going to Michaels because it is closer to my home but I will start going to Joanns since they have better customer service and their yarn selection is better. Very disappointed.

There is no one available to help you around the store. If you would like to ever return anything make sure you are apart of the rewards program or save the receipt because there system cannot find credit card transactions. I now have $40 worth of merchandise thatnks useless to me because I could only get store credit but when you live an hour and half away it does you no good. Next time Ill just go to Joann Fabric, they are always helpful.

A fairly small store, one of the older ones, I think. But, the staff is very nice and helpful. I think Michaels has been working on that. I think you have to go when new stock arrives, as the things I was after were a bit picked over. A good experience, though.
