I had a very bad experience while shopping in the mobile section when I purchased a Dell Streak and tried to return it 3 days later. While purchasing the phone, the salesperson gave me wrong info that the Dell Streak would immediately get an OTA update to Android 2.2. She also told me that if I decided to return the phone, I will get my old iphone unlimited data plan back. When I came back to return it (since this model is not qualified for 2.2 update yet), the 2 salespeople I encountered were very rude. They told me that the advertised label for Dell Streak already mentioned Android 1.6 and visibly scoffed when I told about the OTA thing that I was told about. They also told me that I will not go back to my unlimited plan. When I persisted about the unlimited plan, the guy looked at me and said "You are not listening to me, the unlimited plan is GONE. Forever. Its not coming back". He also threw out that I had signed a legal contract and I should have read what I signed. I just said that - "there is legality and then there is customer service" and then I kept quite, feeling utterly humiliated. I ended up going to an ATT store for my iphone4 and they were at the opposite end of customer service. They were nice, patient and they gave me my unlimited plan back with a smile and told me that there was never any question about it. In summary, I was sold a mobile under false pretense or by someone with incomplete info about the product. And then I felt bullied when I tried to return the phone. I am a regular at Best Buy but my recommendation to all my friends would be to buy at an AT&T / Verizon or TMobile store instead of going to Best Buy for any mobile device.

INCOMPETENT STAFF, I GOT SCREWED OVER BIG TIME: I bought an open-box laptop for $1000. When I started using it the display almost immediately started cutting out randomly, shutting laptop off and turning back on was the only way to get the display working again. It must have been sold as open box because of the damaged display. I came back to the store, told them what the issue was, and they took it in to perform repairs. When I got it back I found out they changed out the hard drive... W.T.F.?! Who switches the hard drive when the display is whats having issues? Their repair persons must be high on marijuana because they changed the hard drive when the display was having problems. Additionally I got random garbage packed with my laptop when I got it back that must have been from other computers. When I asked them why the hard drive was replaced instead of anything being done to the display, they offered to take it in for another repair. I refused and asked for an exchange or store credit because who knows what random component they wouldve replaced this time instead of actually fixing the display, both requests were denied. Who knows whats next they wouldve wasted my time with, changing out the keyboard? Frankly, the Geek Squad staff (more accurate name wouldve been Incompetence Squad), seemed incompetent, so I decided to sell the laptop on ebay as damaged because I didnt want to waste any more time and I needed a working laptop. I sold it for $300, at a $700 loss. What a joke their repairs department is! And that is a lot of money to get ripped off.

I own a 1990 VW Westfallia. I had a vehicle alarm installed at Magnolia, moved alarm work to Car Toys, then Best Buy. I replaced it at Best Buy. The last week I lost my set of keys (with car alarm) in Arlington. I live in Bellevue. The car was locked and alarm activated. Panic! Called Best Buy on 4/24/17 to find out how I could replace the car alarm button. The girl who I spoke with told me Best Buy could not help and I needed to call AAA. I tried to tell her that AAA could not help. She just kept saying ONLY AAA could help me. She then hung up on me. When I called back I spoke to her manager and she claimed I was harassing her. Also no Best Buy stores had installers who worked Monday or Tuesday. I called the Marysville Best Buy and Charles patiently listened to me and said to come right over to order a new alarm fob. Another day I stopped into the Bellevue store looking for Brandon (great guy!), found out he no longer worked there(he is a real estate broker also). I spoke with Matt Woodley and he said he would send out an email and he knew exactly who hung up on me. I havent heard back (5/8/17). He also said the installer is off Wednesday! PS When Brandon did some work on the alarm last year he found that whoever installed the alarm made a mistake which he corrected. Best Buy lost a really good worker!

While getting our sons laptop serviced at the Bellevue Best Buy Geek Squad, we were interested in the different phones and Family phone plans. Our son will enter high school this year, and would need a phone for at least emergency purposes, so we decided to look around. We spoke to a very knowledgeable agent named Rob, who spent about an hour looking through phone plans from the different Service Providers to find us the best deal for our budget. He wrote down several possibilities and let us make our own choice. He stapled his card to the worksheet he gave us and said come back any time when we made our decision. He also introduced us to the Verizon rep, and included his card on the paperwork sheet. We came back in two days after talking about it, and picked up our sons laptop from Geek squad (also excellent service with a low-cost solution). Rob wasnt there, and the Verizon rep called in sick, but a very nice young agent named Rachael helped us. She was professional, friendly, and made sure we were able to get several discounts on items and service to accommodate our low budget. Awesome Service, Rachael! Many Thanks! We now have 2 new phones and a new SIM card for our current one, and a good Family Phone Plan to meet our needs. A HUGE Thank You to Best Buy agents and Geek Squad! Keep up the great job!

Overall you can get a good price since theyll price match if you find a lower price. However, their customer service is some of the worst Ive seen. I bought a TV a month ago and while the salesman was very knowledgeable and helpful, it seemed every person involved in handling the transaction had no idea what to do. They ended up having to call the salesman up multiple times to help. That wasnt a huge deal but after changing the transaction to include delivery and ended up setting the reward points as 0. Ive gone into the store twice and the customer service and both times theyve basically said anything they could to get me to go without fixing the problem. It was very much a deer in the headlights situation for them. On the third try, I called and was redirected to another number where they opened a case which will take another 7-10 business days. I also witnessed another customer being treated very poorly by Geek Squad. The guy was trying to get a pair of headphones replaced and instead of trying to help him, the Geek Squad employee was basically trying to provoke an argument with the guy. Its definitely not good customer service when you keep say things along the lines of "In my 13 years of experience... so I know Im right."
