By far the worst service. I custom ordered an item, despite the uncomfortable sales environment, and was told it would take three weeks. Three weeks passed and I received no call. When I called, I told it would be ready by the next day and they would call me. I called the next day, since no one contacted me, and was told, with no apology, that it wasnt coming, that it had never been scheduled to arrive that day, and they would call me the next week. No call the next week. I called and was told the order was lost, which was then corrected to say the jeweler was reordering stones and it would be ready the next week. No call. I call back again: mid week, next week. No call. I call this morning, they say it will be here this afternoon. I show up and it was never sized, despite my knowing they sized my finger in the shop two times. So it doesnt fit and now it is going back out. No apology. When will it be back? "Depends on the weather." Then Im told it will be back on Wednesday. I wont hold my breath. Ive never dealt with such an unprofessional staff and strongly advise against any purchases. UPDATE: I was contacted to come pick up the ring the day after posting this review. The owner apologized and made amends for the service issues. I find it unfortunate that I had to resort to public reviews to receive the service that should be provided when purchasing expensive and high quality merchandise. I could not recommend this business, but appreciate the apology.

Had a pretty bad experience with this place. I bought an engagement ring here and it was truly beautiful! Unfortunately, a month or two after I bought it, I took it to get appraised for insurance. The appraiser was appalled due to the center diamond having a crack on the surface of the face! It could actually be felt when you ran your fingernail over it. We took the ring back to this place to get an explanation and fix. The diamond was supposed to be an SI but due to the surface inclusion, it was dropped to an I rating. When brought to the jewelers attention, he said it was perfectly normal and we should expect this. We had to fight tooth and nail just to get a replacement diamond put in place of the broken one. They finally relented and replaced it. I would suggest people be very cautious when going here. Their jewelry is very beautiful but make sure to check it with and an independent appraiser. The people are also very nice when they are trying to get you to buy something but if there is a problem, expect them not to be so nice.

I purchased over $10,000 in an engagement/wedding rings set. Was told settings were warranted for life. The diamond subsequently fell out of the engagement ring. I returned the ring and loose stone to Tidewater Keepsake Jewelers. Jeweler states "wear and tear" is not covered!?!? Jeweler gave me two options, repair the ring at $250 or replace the setting for $450. Isnt "Wear" the intended use of a ring? I opted for a third option which was to take my business elsewhere and you should do the same. All the "talk" we heard about "after sale customer care" does not exist. If I purchased $10K in jewelry and my needs were dismissed by this Jeweler, what are the chances this jeweler is going to give a damn about your business? Avoid at all cost.

Came to Tidewater Keepsake for an appraisal on my engagment and wedding rings, John was extremely informative, professional and friendly. Throughout the appraisal I felt confident i was getting an honest and accurate assessment of the value of my jewelry. He even made pleasant small talk during the process. Overall it was a great experience, I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for jewelry appraisal!

I put $100 down on a watch in Oct. 08. 1 week later came back because I was laid off and could no longer afford it...needed the money. The owner said he would only give store credit on returns. He considered this a return! Then he said to my face that I could get the cash back when the watch is sold. NOW he says "Sorry, only in store credit" He lied. I am broke. Do not trust them!

For their retirement sale they are advertising 40% off of used Rolex. I visited them and they offered me a 0.58% (less than 1%!) discount off of the current msrp for a used Rolex 116610LN with a 1 year third party warranty. If you go into Finks Jewelers at MacArthur Center, they offer 5% off of msrp for a new one with a 5 year manufacturers warranty.
