When I think of BHS, theres a lot of things that come to mind. The shop itself, is a wonderful example of what a tattoo and piercing shop should look like. Custom artwork on the walls, beautiful entry way, open layout so you can look at portfolios and talk to the artists. It has an overall warm and welcoming atmosphere. Next thing is the artists themselves. They are friendly and welcoming to new clients and take the time to talk to customers and really get in their heads to figure out what exactly they want so that they end up with a piece or piercing they love. Blue horseshoe is the exact opposite of every other tattoo shop Ive been in. They dont make you feel like youre a huge inconvenience when you walk in the door. There is always room for walk ins and if you come in wanting a tattoo or piercing, you wont be scared out the door. I think what drew me to this place, was that I always heard good things about it. Since I was 18, Ive come to BHS as my first choice to get tattooed as well as pierced. So its a name that has meant something to me for a long time. What makes me want to be here is the environment, Its positive, clean, and very light. Not just the shop, but the artists as well. Theres so much talent packed into one shop, its amazing to see how different all of the artists are, working together towards the same goal; putting really awesome modifications on people that they will have and love for years to come. A well done, meaningful tattoo or piercing can change someones life, the way they feel about themselves, and all of the artists here have been able to convey that onto customers time and time again. From fixing boozy tattoos to giving customers their very first piercing, these artists do it all. Ive never seen so much passion and love for a craft as these people have, and its very refreshing to see people who love what they do. It shows in the work as well as the artists themselves.

I came here for a tattoo on my back. I did my first session and paid half. Its a clean place and people are friendly. Unfortunately on the 2nd visit to complete my tattoo was not the same. I was greeted appropriately and filed paper work. I said you dont take card right so I went to the ATM and took out what I needed to pay the rest of the bill 360. Everything was going great until Nick my artist came up and said my tattoo would be 150 more than what we agreed on. I told him I have a receipt that shows I paid half and all I owed was the rest. Nick replied with does it have a total on it. Nick then said how about 400.. I already saw I was getting ripped off the total was suppose to be 700 I paid 365 up front. In fact the very first day I offered to pay the full 700. I drove 2 hours to get this done left work early. Where I come from that piss poor business. I said I am done went to my car. Nick came out and said he would do his best to finish it come back. and keep it 350. I was done. I went to Trinity tattoo parlor up the road explained my story the young lady with the blond hair states the Tattoo community is small and we dont like to step on peoples toes but lets wait for the artist to comeback from lunch. The guy at Trinity pretty much said with all do respect but the work done by Nick was crap and he would have to redo my line work and has no idea what Nick was doing because its bad line work and it would take 2 sessions to finish. I dont get why people try to take advantage of anyone. I was planing on getting another piece done and so was my wife. I know this wont shut the business down or change much but this has to be known. Thanks for screwing me over.

First off some of the staff here have horrible attitudes. I got one of my tattoos at this shop and it is the worst tattoo I have and I am getting it laser removed next week as a matter of fact. I went back to the shop a few days ago to see if they could fix it or what they suggest I do and the guy who did my tattoo basically blamed it on me saying it looks that way because of the font I picked and he said he warned me about it. 1) no he didnt "warn" me about the lettering going to be messed up & 2) When he was putting the stencil on me, it smeared and he didnt even fix it so he just free handed the lettering basically. The letters are too thick and close together where you can not even read it, the lower case is dont even look like they have dots, the e looks like an o and it is not even a straight line. It wasnt even the fact that all of the mess ups with this tattoo could have happened through the healing process because it looked this shitty when he finished the tattoo and I said something about it and he said to come back when it is healed and he will touch it up. I absolutely hate it and it was poorly done. I visited other tattoo shops to see what I can get done about it and they all said it is too messed up to even try to do a cover up over it so my best bet would be laser tattoo removal which Ill have to get done. Never going here again nor recommending this shop to anyone.

VERY POORLY MANAGED!!!!!! This was one of the worse experiences with a tattoo shop by far and I’ve been to many across the country. I spent two hours in there waiting on a tattoo that I thought I was getting but didn’t get that day, so I scheduled an appointment for the following week, which required a deposit. So I show up the following week to find out the artist was engaged in another tattoo, ok that’s understandable, so I wait for another two hours to find out that the artist didn’t even know I was scheduled nor did he know I was waiting, nor could he do the tattoo……keep in mind, these appointments are also managed through the staff up front. So I ask for my deposit back because they couldn’t hold the “scheduled appointment time” or do the tattoo for that matter and was told that I couldn’t get a refund. This place is a rip-off!!!!! There’s to many tattoo shops here in Virginia to deal with this type of F***ery. All my Brothers and Sisters in Arms, stay clear of this place!!!!!!!

this was the worst experience i have had when coming to a tattoo/piercing place. I called them prior to my visit to reassure the time they would be open and the person on the phone was speaking very low and had this tone was not professional. He sounded very uninterested and unenthusiastic and gave me a kind of "duh" response to my question. i went into the store to find out i needed a birth certificate that a parent and i.ds werent enough. so i drove all the way home and back with my birth certificate. i walk in and hear they dont take cards. so i pull money from the atm. the lady behind the counter then tells us she cant accept the birth certificate because my parents name was not present on the birth certificate(being the original copy). they didnt try to offer any help or other option after this. i walked out very frustrated and i will not be going back there again. i wouldnt even give this place a one star if i didnt have to. terrible service.
