My experience with AC&F of Royal Oak is just as I will proclaim "5 STARS". Although AC&F has many other locations and I personally have been to two others including many other bicycle shops in the last year. These guys and gals are the best when it comes to all your questions, wants and needs. The atmosphere is very pleasant and there is no push push sold mentality here at all. They will gladly help you fit your wants and needs, you can ask to ride a 5 thousand dollar bicycle and they will let you even if you just like the color. Before I made my purchase with them I really put them to the test and I mean it. Upon choosing your particular model of bicycle they will size you up and not sway you into anything you do not need unless thats what you want of course. The sales department are very easy to work with if you are on a budget or just want to splurge, they will give you the same individual attention and information whether its a 5 dollar purchase or a 5 thousand dollar purchase. Rick, Tabatha and the others will take excellent care of you. The mechanics are top notch!, they assemble and repair all of the bicycles and parts as though they were their own. If you are looking for a bicycle shop that stands behind superb customer service and what they provide you honestly can not go wrong. My hat goes off to the whole team!, and especially Brad he is an outstanding person to communicate with on any level. Extremely knowledgeable, honest and sincere. I highly recommend this bicycle shop to others. Keep up the outstanding work everyone Kudos!.

Awesome service! The guys are super friendly and very friendly. I ordered an 2015 Electra online from the website and it was at the Pontiac store, had it sent to the Royal Oak Store. Corey helped my husband and I and was very friendly and nice, even joking around and made us feel very comfortable. He was super helpful and very kind. Also my husband had a SE Quad Angle that needed to be assembled and we took it to the Royal Oak store because the guys there are awesome! The big guy behind the counter was also very cool and friendly. DEFINITELY Big thumbs up to the guys that helped us at the Royal Oak store. Oh and Corey saved my Electra bike streamer that was missing and gave it back to me when we were in picking up my husbands SE Quad Angle. So thank you, thank you, thank you! For being so cool and awesome!

After a couple not so great experiences at other bike shops (which I obviously didnt buy from) I was extremely pleased and pleasantly surprised with my first quality ($$$$$lol) bike purchase experience here. Knowledgeable, honest, helpful and not pushy are the words that come to mind. I ended up buying my daughter a bike as well and we have been loving our bikes and our rides together this last month. I actually got a flat on the way up to buy a water bottle cage yesterday and they fixed it on the spot as well as a couple other tweaks to the bike were handled quickly. The guys are fun to talk to and have a great sense of humor. TIP: buy the service plan, its super cheap if you really understand what you are getting. Dont just say no, have it explained to ya. :)

Good selection of bikes, but technician service leads a lot to be desired. Like any bike shop, the service is going to depend on the individual tech. I dropped my bike off for service with a request to look at something specific. It was even on the service ticket. When I picked it up and asked about it, Dan replied, "I tightened it and everything seemed fine." We both know this would not address my request, so I asked that it be addressed before I paid. Begrudgingly, he looked and - what do you know - the issue hadnt been addressed. The entire process took 3 extra minutes. I find it frustrating that complacency too often seems to be the norm... so, Ill continue my search for a shop/tech I know I can count on.

Haughty staff makes for a terrible store experience. Id really like to know who these people think they are. I didnt know Trek bikes were only for Lance Armstrong wannabe bikers. Unless youre decked out in head to toe bike gear and spandex expect to not be waited on...and be treated like an untouchable. I guess if youre not interested in riding your bike 100 miles a day you dont deserve customer service and assistance. These people were sickeningly rude and for no apparent reason. I dont know who died and made American Cycle and Fitness employees the uppity bike kings of the world...but someone needs to help bring these ridiculous salespeople back to Earth.

Trek service store, NOT!! I took my older but higher end Trek Y-frame in for service. I was missing the bolts for the handle bar extensions that came with the bike. After 10 days, I came back and they said they couldnt find the bolts. I was told to go to a hardware store. LESSON - If you want service on an older bike, DO NOT go this store. Sure, theyll take your money to buy a new bike and treat you like a king, but bring an older bike in for service and you are not worth their time. If my time writing this prevent anyone else from wasting their time, then I have done my duty.

Just so happened to walk into American Cycle and Fitness today after coming out of another store in the same area. Had been thinking of getting back into cycling . Met a salesperson by the name of Dan who was very friendly and informative about their bikes. He asked and I told him what type of riding I was looking to get into long distance and some hard riding on a fitness level. He showed me some of their hybrid bikes. These bikes were beautiful and well made and after talking to Dan I know Ill by going back to make a purchase.Got my mind set on a Trek Fx7.7 or the Fx7.4 !!!

I cannot tell you how impressed I was with the service at the Trek store on Woodward Avenue. Cullen was the sales representative that helped me pick the perfect bike and accessories for the type of riding I do (mostly light trails). They make sure that you ride around the neighborhood before buying. I left the store feeling that I had the proper education to safely ride the streets and trails. I would highly recommend visiting if you are a beginner with little experience, or if you are a pro at the sport. Thanks guys!

Purchased our Electra cruisers here and we love the bikes! Excellent selection of styles, sizes, colors, and accessories for this brand. We also purchased a Thule DoubleTrack 2 Bike Hitch Rack to hold our beach cruisers based on their recommendation so these big bikes avoid swaying. They assembled and attached to my vehicle within a few hours right before a holiday weekend. This place does get busy in the Spring/Summer, they have a big staff, really friendly. Be sure to join their rewards program to earn discounts!

Salespeople were not interested in helping me find the items I wanted to purchase. Nor were they interested in matching the price for the same item we found elsewhere. I had to twist the salespersons arm to look again for one item I wanted before I left for a trip, otherwise he would have been ok with losing $100+ sale. As it is, he let us walk out of the store without purchasing a $50 item because they wouldnt price match. I will never go to another ACF store again in any city.
