The Cafe portion of Cafe Velo is fine, although they can be slow at time especially if you order food. The bike shop of Cafe Velo has something to be desired. I recognize local bike shops like this have to compete with the larger vendors like Bicycle Village and online stores. Cafe Velo cant compete on selection or price and therefore must rely on customer service to retain customers. I have been using their service department for the last few years usually for jobs that require special tools that I dont own. I was never impressed by their service department, it was "just okay," but because their are convenient to my house it was worth it. However the last few times I have been treated badly, having to wait a long time (30+ minutes) just to speak to someone, or have customers who clearly arrived after me helped first. So if your looking for good coffee then Cafe Velo is great place, if you are looking for mediocre bike shop, look no further they have you cover there as well. However you will not see me there. I prefer to give my business to a shop that deserves it, perhaps Criterium Bicycles.

As a hardcore coffee connoisseur I give these guys props for their selection in espresso machine, grinders, and coffee rotation. That being said, there are a few qualms about this place. First, their service is terribly slow. I get it, Velo is a small shop that doesnt have a ton of customers in a day, but thats no excuse for slow service. The coffee is not too shabby but dont count on consistency. Its way better than Mission Coffee Roasters access the street, and definitely the best place north of downtown Colorado Springs, but if you dont mind the drive head down south to far better options like fifty-fifty coffee house or the Wild Goose Meeting House.

John at Cafe Velo helped me test ride three different Cervelo road bikes. It was refreshing to have a knowledgeable and friendly technician fit the bike for me. Two other shops I visited prior basically filled the tires, guessed a seat height, and sent me on the road. John did it right by placing me on the bike in the stationary rack, and made all the adjustments he could to get the best fit for each particular bike. Impressive service, and John even offered me a cup of special coffee.

This place has a "big city" feel to it that I really enjoyed. The customer service was stellar, they really made a point to make me feel welcome, knowing it was my first time here. And, maybe best of all, they have almond milk and coconut milk as alternatives, so I was able to get a latte - much appreciated! Im not a biker, but I can see how bikers would get an additional kick out of it as well.

Terrific store and cafe. We rented bikes recently and Mike and his staff could not have been more helpful. The bikes were superb and easy to arrange. The time they took to show us routes was great. Gladly rent there any time. The shop had a nice selection and the cafe had excellent coffee and baking.

Not only great coffee but the service department is amazing. Dave was great to work with and treated my bike like it was his own. Definitely five star service; a couple of shops in town could learn quite a bit from this staff. If you are in need of a tune up this is the shop.

Awesome Shop and Cafe! These guys are great. Good food at a good price. Great bikes and great service. I dont drink coffee so I cant speak to that (I know, its un-american) but word from my neighbors is that the java is outstanding!

As a bike shop, they have a solid selection. Their staff is extent knowledgeable, and were helpful from beginning to end. On top of that, theyve got a great café right inside the shop so you can refuel while youre being helped.

Reminds me of an old Italian house in Rome (La Casa del Caffe tazza). Cappuccino done right and with a little flair. Reasonably priced with high quality coffee (they grind their own beans from selected parts of the world).

Just an awesome local bike store. Lee, Don and the gang are super friendly every time I go in whether its for bike stuff (that I never need) or for some stellar coffee. Definitely the premier LBS for northern C. Springs!

Cafe Velo is without a doubt my favourite coffee joint in Colorado Springs. Im a self-admitted coffee snob, and the coffee here impressed me a lot! The service is also excellent. Cafe Velo has become my go-to coffee house.

Sandwiches are original and good, good, good. Nice music at the right level. Of course the cappucino is thick and the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. Give these guys a try!

Super lame! I love coffee, I love bikes, but this place was disappointing on both fronts. Bikes and accessories were all of the light and overpriced variety, as was the coffee.

Some of the best lattes and espresso drinks in town, paired with a full service bike shop. Small friendly staff that remembers you by name.

Brewed coffee was delicious, but the latte I had was not. The espresso was not very strong and seemed to be mixed with too much milk.
