I brought my new $2300 carbon frame in to have parts swapped over from a previous bike. They damaged the frameset cosmetically near the rear drop out area, nice chunk of paint down to frameset material. Hard to see, but when I did notice it a day later, they basically conveyed, I checked the bike and walked out our store, so its my problem, even though I had pic/video proof to say otherwise, which they ignored. Asked to speak to a manager/owner, never contacted. Best part is they charged me!! Bill, Allen and Marc, thanks for hack job! I will certainly not be buying parts or bikes through them especially the internet. I have zero confidence or trust in Colorado Cyclist from this experience. Response to Jacks reply: Let me correct you on a couple of things. 1. We were not looking at that specific area as there was an issue with the brake bolts and that was the area of attention, not the rear axle. The Thru Axle bolt hid the obvious damage. 2. I am 100% when the damage was done contrary to what you stated. Your shop did the damage. 3. When I emailed Marc about the video proof and that I wanted to speak to an owner, I never received anymore communication from CO Cyclist. You went radio silent so to speak. In the beginning Marc offered me a free tune-up for the damage done to my $2300 frame and since I dont know if your employees lied or didnt notice the damage when they did it, I certainly wouldnt bring my now $6k bike back to your shop. There is no trust or confidence left in your employees abilities and/or your company. I actually discover what could have happened in your bike shop, but as I said above, you ignored my last two emails. That kind of customer service isnt going to resolve anything with wronged customer and you might of learned some valuable information! It is interesting you all were so quick to back each other and ignore my documented proof of pictures and video, interesting! I am not sure if it was a "Cover up" or just incompetence, but I do know that Colorado Cyclist really made NO serious attempt to resolve or "take care of me". Well this is one former customer that is no longer a customer and I will make sure all my friends now know to go elsewhere as I should have done in the first place.

I feel swindled. I bought a Devinci Troy for $2500 from Colorado Cyclist in May of 2014 after they talked me out of the bike I wanted to purchase. Ive had it serviced at their shop for annual tune ups and maintenance, as well as purchasing parts and accessories for my other bikes. Last winter they had to rebuild the rear suspension due to a funny clunk during compression. As it turns out it hadnt been put together properly when they originally built the bike, however no responsibility was taken for shoddy workmanship. I was charged full price for the rebuild at about $250 for parts and labor. This last summer I had some brake work done bleed the brakes, replace rotors, and pads. Which I believe was done in that order, because as soon as it got warm the rear brake would lock up. I took the bike into a shop this weekend in Grand Junction, CO and was informed that the brake pads appeared to have excessive use. I found this interesting seeing as I was charged for new pads, and havent been able to ride since that brake work was done this last summer. Beyond that the shop in GJ informed me that the Elixir 3 brakes are no longer made because the tend to fail, and they had to replace all of those brakes on the bikes they sold with them. It would have been nice to have been informed that the brakes are more or less garbage, and that SRAM would have replaced them if I acted sooner. Beyond that the last few times I have stopped at their shop the sales staff has a pretentious attitude, and makes you feel like your wasting their time. I started shopping at Colorado Cyclist in 1997 or so and will never go back. There are a lot of other bike shops in Colorado Springs who will be glad to help you, and make you want to continue to be a patron.

My most recent experience had all the potential for a five star review, until Chad with customer service let the bottom drop out. I got a great deal on a Niner RKT 9 with a fantastic build, with every part I had wanted according the listed part specs. The picture had a different seatpost, a KS drop zone, but the part spec lists the KS Lev which was the post I wanted. The website specifically says "parts may differ from pictures but will be those listed". I was excited but when the bike arrived it was in fact the drop zone. I immediately called and the first customer service rep, Mandy, was prepared to make it right and told me to ship the drop zone back and she would send me a Lev as advertised. About two hours later another person named Chad called and told me that wouldnt be happening and the bike was already a great deal. I told home i knew it was a great deal which is why I bought it, expecting the Lev and all other parts as advertised. Chad told me I could ship the bike back if it didnt work for me but he wouldnt send me the advertised seatpost. This is really too bad because the bike price was phenomenal, the shipping was super fast, and up until Chad the customer service had been great. Bottom line, dont expect them to stand by their word that the part specs is what you can expect, at least not if Chad gets involved.

Got a santa cruz bronson. Clearly assembling bikes as fast as possible over there. Arrived with a non matching rear wheel from another model of Bronson. Dropper post didnt go up or down because they jammed the post all the way down on the cable. Eventually figured out it had a kink and had to repull slack out of frame. Something on it has creaked under load since day 1. Bought the tools to pull apart cranks and bottom bracket only to find essentially no grease anywhere. Greased and reassembled. Still creaks. Ive put a lot of time into this brand new bike and cant figure it out. No carbon grease on the seatpost either, trying that next *sigh*

Just did a bike build at Colorado Cyclist. Dean Maxwell was the lead sales person/bike fitter on this one. A bike builder named Alan, or possibly Allen, built it. Superb. I had them match the geometry of my old bike. Did some wheel/handlebar upgrades along with the group set. I felt the vibration dampening/smoothness immediately. Really a pleasure to ride this new bike. This is the third custom bike that Colorado Cyclist has done for me in the past 26 years-theyve all been good-and this is the sweetest. Take the time to work with their fitters and techs. Really knowledgeable folks.

Ive purchased 4 bikes from Colorado Cyclist. They have great customization options, so you get exactly the bike you want. Every bike Ive bought was set up perfectly and the build quality each time has been absolutely incredible. Every detail down to the cable cable routing is spot on. When you order a bike, it comes packaged tighter than a nuns $#@$@ and all the spare parts and manufacturer accessories in an organized bag. The team at Colorado Cyclist know a ton, and will go out of their way to make sure you are happy your shopped with them.
