These guys helped me get a nice, respectable budget bike - a Cannondale Catalyst. I thought that by buying cheap (for a bike shop, at least), I would be sacrificing part quality and customer service and was basically buying a cheap throwaway bike for the shop to make an easy buck off of. Im about at my 1 year mark with this bike, and I gotta say - all my fears have been laid to rest. Every time I go to the shop with it, Im treated like anyone else. Ive asked them several times if I need to replace parts to get something more trail worthy, and Ive had different people on different visits assure me its good to go. The do great at honoring their 1 year free service and labor warranty, and have always done it with a smile. The Cannondale has been beat up on the rock gardens of Austins Green Belt, handled soft and deep rocky riverbed crossings with ease, brakes exactly as good as I need, flies along up hills and along the windy trails of Brushy Creek and Walnut Creek. I travel an hour to come to this shop, and I pass up two local shops along the way. Its all about respect. Treat your customers with respect in your attitude, pricing, and service, and youll retain a loyal customer.

I had two older bikes, a 15 year old Schwinn and about a 10 year old Giant, that needed someone to go through and refurbish as needed. I received multiple quotes, all in the $400 to $450 range each from other local shops including Bicycle Sports Shop, Performance Bike, and Bucks Bikes. Considering the Giant was $450 new, I thought this was pretty unreasonable. Instead, I bought two new bikes (from Performance during a sale). For curiositys sake I stopped in The Peddler to see what they would charge. They were absolutely reasonable, to the point that I just did it for sentimental value. The Schwinn ended up running around $200 and the Giant, $85. Great people too, and I enjoyed visiting the shop with its convenient location. I havent really had many occasions to return, and I cant speak to their pricing on new stock, but their service is great, and they are a GT dealer (although they dont keep any in stock) so they can get parts for my new bike too with no problems. I enjoy supporting this type of business, so on the small stuff I dont mind paying more, especially if I know they are going to treat me fairly now and in the future.

Fantastic experience! My wife and I were unsure about the direction we wanted to go in upgrading our bikes, road bike or mountain bike. The owner AJ and his staff were patient and knowledgable. There was no rush and plenty of discussion despite the fact that the store was busy. To all the folks in my network if you are looking for a bike here in Central Texas make sure you make Peddler Bicycle Shop a priority to visit. You will not be disappointed. We bought two great bikes from AJ after a very informative and fun experience at the store.

Great shop. Relax atmosphere. Ive been running around town looking for a bike that fits my needs. Im quite petite so it makes things challenging. AJ was extremely helpful and friendly. He could easily talked me into buying a bike but he didnt. He patiently answered all of my questions. Ive made my decision on the bike & will gladly give up my cashback from REI to get it from this reliable place.

Was referred to AJ and was very thankful that I was. I was looking for a bike for my son to take to college and hadnt looked at bikes in a pretty good while. AJ listened to my needs and found the me the perfect bike. Super friendly, very knowledgeable, and a nice product line. Go see AJ!!! Great shop. AJ and everyone at the shop do a great job. The shop has a cool vibe and the service and attn given is genuine and personal. The other nearby jobs usually give a very long lead time, charge much more, feel much less personal and provide inconsistent performance when servicing my bikes, I am very happy The Peddler opened this location.

They ride a lot, they race themselves (and do very well I would add). They sell a nice array of bikes, and they service any kind of bike.

First time in I needed a new helmet, Mike took the time to help find just the right one. That night on my ride I found the helmet felt loose and not as comfortable as it did in the store. Went back the next day and they exchanged it for a smaller size even though I had used it. I will be back.
