At first, we were very pleased with the price of the furniture and the sales representative was helpful. We put down a small deposit while we were deciding between other furniture sets, and decided on a bedroom set from Atlantic. We called back the representative to ask about same-as-cash financing options. The representative told us about two options which were flat either $25 or $40. We confirmed multiple times that this is the fee we have to pay for the financing option. We had financed before at another furniture place with the same 90-day same as credit option, and the cost of financing was a flat $40. Thats it. No extra charges. The rest of the cost was what we would have paid if we bought it flat-out-- Cost of the furniture plus the taxes. We went back to Atlantic in person to apply for financing, and got approved for the $25 option. Again, we were told that the cost was just the application fee and thats it. Our receipt showed the cost of what Progressive was going to charge us We asked a few more questions, and then we were approved and moved forward. When we called up the financing place to set up the 90-day same as cash option with Progressive, they informed us that we owe a higher amount than we thought. Progressive said we had to pay taxes on the furniture. When we told Progressive this is a mistake, as the furniture was already taxed and included in the amount that we are financing for, they told us that we would have to call Atlantic, as they did not include the tax. On the receipt from Atlantic, it says that we paid 6% tax and the total amount we are financing for includes that. We called Atlantic to inform them, and Atlantic told us that even though the receipt says 6% tax, it doesnt matter because "We charge a 6% fee anyway for financing options." So, it went from a flat $25 to $25 plus a 6% fee. If we had known about this from the start, we might have considered other options, including waiting and saving to pay off the furniture in one shot. We already had the furniture delivered so we have no option now, but to pay. When we spoke with Atlantic Bedding and explained to them that we were not informed that the 6% tax on our receipt is actually a 6% processing fee, he told us "I dont understand what the gripe is," and wouldnt do anything about the extra charge. The representative in person had told us not to call Progressive until we received the furniture. It didnt make sense to us because the 90 days started from the day of application approval-- not day of delivery. They may have been trying to hide the 6% to force us into paying it. I was prepared to write a positive review, as I was happy at first with the furniture and the price. Mind you, we drove twice from Newport News all the way up to Virginia Beach for this set, so its pretty insulting to be told that its not a big deal that they didnt inform us about extra charges. Were really disappointed with the company over this, as it broke our trust in Atlantic and has deterred us from any future purchases. We have a whole house to furnish. We will definitely NOT be doing business with them further.

WOW!!! As a manager myself, I understand more than just a thing or two about customer service. Tim A, was my salesman and provided excellent customer service, was personable and understanding of my needs and wants. Tim helped me pick out a bedroom set, as well as a living room set. My total came out to a little over $1600. When I went to purchase my furniture, I found out that they didnt except American Express and that was the only form of payment that I wanted to pay with. Three weeks ago, my husband and I lost our home to a house fire and we lost everything (the house was completely burned to the ground). All we had were the clothes on our back that we were wearing when we ran out of the house. As you can imagine, we have had to drop a lot of money on clothes, furniture, a new house and so much more. When I told Tim that I didnt want to run it on my debit card, because of all the money we had already spent and will need to continue spending until we have everything we need, he went out of his way and made a phone call to make it happen. I was charged an additional percentage for the use of it (so was this company), but I was more than willing to pay it, and they were more than willing to accept the charge. What makes this even more of a meaningful purchase was, I went to Grand furniture the day before and had a bill of $2100. When I went to the counter to pay for it I was informed that they do not except American Express (they also knew my situation), I asked them why and they said because of the fee that they would get hit with. The only option they gave me was to open up a credit card with them. I left empty handed after shopping in their showroom for about an hour picking everything out. I ended up buying those items at another furniture store. So again, what Tim did for me was beyond anything I had expected when he first told me they didnt take American Express. Not to mention, you cant beat their prices. This one person just made me a customer for life. I will always recommend shopping at Atlantic Bedding and Furniture. I will be back, seeing that I have two more rooms to replace. Thank you Tim, even though that didnt really do anything for you, it meant a lot to me and I appreciate it. Im not sure what we would have done if I couldnt have used that card.

The customer service was great. The employees do everything in their power to help customers find exactly what they are looking for. My only complaint would be that this business does not price match the same exact item, which leads to customers being drastically overcharged if they have not looked in other stores as well as online. I researched the furniture I wanted and checked several stores. It wasnt until I checked online that I noticed that the furniture I wanted was listed for about $200 less than this business was selling it for, but they claimed they "couldnt go any lower." I understand having to make a profit but if a customer brings it to your attention that the maker of the furniture brand is selling the piece for a drastically lower price, then a price match of some sort should be made. No one is going to give this store way more money than necessary once they realize this store is overcharging for their items. Even the items inside this store are listed as a higher price than it is on their own website. This is not a good way to build trust with customers.

The products they sell are not of good quality. If I could give a negative rating I would. Also there is no other person to contact then the rude acting sales manager to talk too according to them. Which is why Im writing this review. I purchased a bedroom set and mattress and after about 1 weeks the bed frame started squeaking every time you moved in bed. I tightened all the hardware and it still keeps making the same noises. Now the mattress is uncomfortable and my back is sore every morning. I called to ask about returning my mattress and bed room set and i was told we dont take returns and we have different mattress out for you to try out before you buy. As if laying on a mattress for 10 minutes will tell you if its good for the next 5 years. There so called acting sales manager is trained to basically tell you that once its delivered or brought to your home its your no ifs ans or buts. So beware of what you purchase because its most likely not worth the money. Please learn from my mistake. If I could give no stars I would.
