My teenage daughter was looking for her first car, and we wanted to stay under $3000. We wanted the most reliable high mileage (low cost) car we could get, so after a lot of research, we went hunting for a Toyota or Honda. Wed done a lot of pricing research, and knew the price was right, our test drive and visual check of the Camry was fine, so we bought it on the spot. Its a great high mileage starter, or commuter, and had 170,000 miles. I took it to the the Toyota dealership after I bought it, just to confirm my own judgment, and they said everything was perfect, shocks, brakes, the works, aside from a small oil leak from the head gasket, which we had already noticed, and didnt mind. Hopefully shell take good care of it, watch the oil, and if she does, it should be good for another 170,000 miles. I did put a new battery ($140) in it (never a bad idea on a new used car), and got a four wheel alignment for $80 (it had a small pull to the right). Im almost 60 years old now, and Ive learned you never trust anything any dealer says, only trust your own eyes. All I want from a dealer is a selection of clean cars, with fair prices. Its up to me to determine if the car is mechanically sound, and worth purchasing. Buying a used car requires the buyer to know some basic things about cars, if you dont, have it inspected before buying it. I was very pleased with David, the owner, and his selection of cars for what we needed. Its not easy to find a reliable, high mileage, inexpensive car, in good condition, he had several. Ive bought many user cars over the years, and I know Im going to get the best price on a used car from a small operator, with a very low overhead, thats West End Auto, not from a big dealer paying huge rent on a fancy showroom, with high overhead. West End had the best prices, and selection, in Richmond when we were searching.

The guys at West End Autos are strait shooters and hooked me up with a great little Subaru for a very reasonable price, even took care of taxes, title, and tags! When test driving the car, I pointed out to Troy a couple concernes that I had, and upon purchase of the vehicle Troy had the issues fixed at no cost to me. A week after purchasing the vehicle, the check engine light came on. I took it to the local Firestone who told me the headgasket had blown (oh no!) along with several other issues, and that I had to take it to a dealership. The dealership parroted what Firestone said, as well as saying I had axle issues, dirty transmission fluid that had to be flushed, and a loose knock sensor. Obviously upset, I called Troy, who told me in so many words I was being lied to and pointed me to the guys at Precision-Service-and-Repair-LLC. I took my car down their to have it looked over, and wouldnt you know it, the only issue that could be found was a small axle problem that cost all of $200 to fix (was quoted close to $800 for the same fix at the dealership). So not only was I sold a decent car for the year/price/miles, but also introduced to a great repair shop, all through West End Autos.

Bought a family vehicle last month from West End Auto and Id definitely recommend the dealer to anyone looking for a solid used car. David was incredibly helpful and accommodating, as well as very personable. He also was flexible with his pricing, and he prices pretty fairly. The property is very small and minimal but that keeps his overhead low and allows him to price reasonably. The vehicle I was looking at started having some issues (normal wear and tear for a 10+ year old car) and he made sure everything was straightened out. One of the issues resurfaced shortly after purchase and he even helped me out there and then instead of leaving me on my own since the transaction was finished, so I definitely appreciate that. None of the issues were his fault, and he was very upfront about getting everything situated for me. It didnt take long for everything to be fixed once and for all and now I have a very strong and reliable car which runs and looks great for its age. Overall, David (who is the owner) handled everything very well and if I or anyone I know is looking for a used car in the area, I would recommend West End Auto to them in a heartbeat.

Went to view a vehicle Robert was helpful and kind. Liked the car, so we decided to have it checked out by our mechanic. The car had real issues...had also had a hood and trunk painted by the dealer and they had not told us. We brought the car back and gave them the sheet showing the issues...Robert seemed thankful for the information. Later, our mechanic called and had received a phone call from the owner who accused him of "throwing (him) under the bus". He was rude, offensive and unprofessional. Based on the owner of the business attitude, I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. My impression is that he is unprofessional, dishonest, and less than forthcoming about his vehicles.

If you are smart don’t buy a car from West End Auto. I was looking for something inexpensive for my daughter and Troy and David told me the car runs great. Inspection sticker showed the car was rejected for headlights and brakes. Troy and David said that the car was fixed and passed inspection but guess what…headlights were not fixed and of course the engine needs to be rebuild in order for the brakes to work correctly. Dishonest salesman will tell you the car runs great but they just won’t tell you that it runs great for less than 30 days and then the next sentence is you brought it as is. So if you are smart don’t buy a car from West End Auto from Troy and David.

This was a great day this dealership was more than acomadating they were very professional but also very friendly , David the owner was amazing he made it easy and he was very patient and went way beyond his job. This is a great place to buy a vehicle and know that David and associates are only concerned with your needs and wants in a vehicle

I have dealt with this dealer for 2 years. He has been very forthcoming and honest with his vehicles. Some have problems and he will tell you about them. They are easy to work with and will do buy here/pay here if needed. They are good people and will help you get on your feet if you need to get a car again and have issues.
