I have purchased running shoes from this store in the past, it was recommended to me by someone who has run in the Boston Marathon and other marathons. What you get at this store is a proper style shoe for your stride. If you have running shoes, they will look at the wear, they will watch you run and then recommend shoes that fit how you run. The inexperienced person cannot do this on their own nor can you find that level of service online. If you go here, or any specialty locally owned store, and they are able to help you find a shoe ... purchase them even if a little higher because you are paying for that additional level of service.

This is a serious running store with higher than average prices but service to match. They make you run around the store to check your stride and recommend the best shoe for you (none of which are necessarily cheap). I am a fairly novice runner and have appreciated the advice although I always spend more than I plan to on shoes here. I think they are under new ownership but I have not noticed any real changes. Most of the same staff seems to in place. The staff is made up of die-hard runners (who look the part) but the environment is not at all intimidating for the novice or semi-serious runner.

My first job way back in high school was at a running store and I subsequently worked on/off in the industry through college, so I like to think I know a thing or two about customer service. The team at Road Runner is phenomenal! They quickly helped me locate a very hard to find shoe size and even a cheaper model than what was at the store. Then when the order was delayed, they offered to hand deliver it to my home. Really cant say enough about how awesome my experiences have been with the store. And hats off especially to Spencer!

Others as well as I think that the items in this store are very well OVER PRICED! You can go online and get the same things cheaper. Even with a 15% off coupon, I still didnt buy anything. The sale items were still very expressive. Not only that, you cant notice the building or sign from the road. You could walk right past it and not even notice it unless you visit the store regularly or just know where its at.

I had a great experience at this store. The service was professional and the associates were focused on finding the right shoe for me. I had been struggling with finding the right size and comfort. Also, the prices were the same as other major stores. Luckily, I walked out with 2 new pair of shoes. I highly recommend Road Runner for those looking for a personalized experience.

Went in and had an idea of what I wanted... Ariel was fantastic in helping me with the overwhelming aspect of trying to get the right running shoe. After trying a few brands from other sports stores It was nice to meet someone that cared about what was right and not just what was the latest or nicest pair of shoes. The guys were great. Although I had a brand and color preference, my sales guy reminded me to think of comfort and focus on training. He was patient and I tried on several pair - over and over - until I was comfortable. What a knowledgeable group of fellas! I will definitely come back to Richmond for another experience when my shoes are worn out!

I just started running more and was getting knee pain. I went here to get some shoes, hoping to correct the problem. Mark helped me out and was amazing! He took the time to show me multiple shoes and analyzed my foot arch, running style, etc. to make sure I had the right fit. I had a great experience and am so stoked on my new shoes!!

Terrible. No one spoke or acknowledged me when I entered or as I looked around. A young lady walked past me three times and never asked if I needed any help. Two other women walked in and she spoke to them. All $ is green and spends the same. I just wont be spending mines there.

Receive great service and a great pair of shoes. They organize free group runs on Monday night, which is awesome. Last Saturday I saw they were running as many miles as they could on a treadmill for 24 hours as a fundraiser. Cool store, cool culture, creating cool community.
