I have processed my own deer every year except for this year. With having a young family at home time was not a luxury I had anymore to spend half the day butchering my deer. A coworker of mine told me about Burks farm and I thought Id try them out. Best decision ever made. I was able to drop my deer and fill out the order form exactly what I wanted. They even took the time to explain to me in detail what cuts were what and what most hunters prefer. Even offered friendly cooking advice on how to prepare it! I received the call to pick it up shortly after and was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the price was and they even gave me a great discount for being a first responder! There was surprisingly much more meat than I expected and it was perfectly packed freezer ready! Tried the sausage they made the following morning and it was delicious. I will never process my own deer again after this. Do yourself a favor and try them out. You wont be disappointed.

In the Williamsberg area this place is about the only game in town for getting deer processed. I harvested one this past season using a shot gun slug. A neck shot did the trick. I contacted burks farm. Polite people welcoming to my business. I got my burger and sausage done and was back to me in a couple days. I had butchered the deer myself, knowing it was clean of all lead fragments. Being as the neck was no good and got tossed out prior to me dropping it off. Every single package of deer meat Ive attempted to eat has at least 5-10 lead fragments in it and Ive found half of a copper casing in one. The meat I got back isnt even from my deer.... maybe during archery season this place would be ideal. But once general gun comes around I wouldnt even bother. A total waste of money and even worse the meat is basically inedible.

I was looking to have some American Guinea Hogs processed here and I was turned away because of the breed of pig I have. I dont know if it is harder for them because of the black hair or what. They said they had a customer upset at how much fat was on one once so they just wont do them anymore. Its a lard breed pig and that customer raised it, so if it was too fatty definitely not the processors fault. So... one ignorant customer and they just choose to perpetuate the ignorance. Frustrating.

Have had several deer processed there over the past several years, always fast and efficient, and absolutely no problems at all. 5 stars is my honest, real-world experience....its too bad the anti-meat folks are able and allowed to post reviews against a good family business.

The slitting of someones throat occurs here. Mutiple conscious someones who want to live. Just think about that.
