Duck Donuts has expanded like crazy in this area! Theres now one in Arlington, Fairfax, Herndon, Rockville, Gaithersburg, and one coming soon to Alexandria. As a fan of this donut haven that originated from the Outer Banks, Im stoked. I have previously visited the Fairfax location, but yesterday was my first time at this Arlington branch. Donuts are fresh and made to order at each Duck Donuts store. So if youre in a rush and think that itll be similar to picking up a donut from Dunkin, youll be mistaken. If you have the time though, its well worth it. Order forms are available at the front, which you fill out and present to the cashier. You can purchase as little as one to as many as a bucket. I opted for a dozen and chose the following: +Maple and bacon* +Vanilla, Oreo, and hot fudge drizzle* +Blueberry with powdered sugar* +Chocolate and chocolate sprinkles* +Chocolate and rainbow sprinkles* +Vanilla with rainbow sprinkles +Glazed with coconut +Glazed with bacon +Chocolate with peanuts +Powdered sugar and blueberry drizzle* +Glazed with chocolate +Blueberry I would highly recommend any of the customer favorites (indicated with a * above). The maple and bacon was definitely a big hit with my coworkers. I also really like the blueberry ones. The donuts are super fresh, and you should preferably eat them as soon as you can to savor the freshness. No indoor seating, but there are some outdoor tables for the warmer months. Theres also coffee (both hot and iced), tea (both hot and iced), hot chocolate, and bottled beverages for sale. And if youre a rubber duck paraphernalia collector like yours truly, they have plenty of retail to purchase too. Come for the decadence, they donut judge.

This is the Chipotle of donuts. They dont have any donuts pre-made. They have machines that churn out fresh plain donuts constantly and they put the toppings on to order. The donuts remind me of my grandmothers homemade donuts. They are slightly more golden brown than Im used to. I dont know if this will describe it well, but the outside is just on the edge of having a crust/crispy. Insides are pillowy soft. The dark roast coffee is pretty good. They just have regular coffee, no expresso drinks. Because its new and made to order you may be waiting. I went 7:15 Saturday morning and waited 15 minutes for my order. They can get bogged down quick if there are big orders. Someone in front of me ordered 4 dozen and nothing came out for 5 minutes. By the time I left there were 25 people inside. I DO NOT recommend going early afternoon during week. Ive driven by twice and there were 40+ kids hanging out after school. 4 stars become I expect it to be busy for some time to come. Donuts were delicious.

I liked the Baskin Robbins that was here better, I know the management it started with was terrible. Hired ALOT of High school employees and proceeds to fire the majority of them by not contacting them. But hey, its in an area that is full of restaurants and stores that are ALWAYS happy to train our young adults and teens how to survive out in the real world. Its your choice if you want to go in and support an establishment that does not help the young grow and learn when there down the street from a high school. Anyways, thats my two cents. Take it and learn from it.

Its fun to watch your donuts get made right in from of you. The price is great, especially for a dozen and the quality you get. Toppings are all the same price so it didnt matter what Donut you get, youll sirens the same amount. Try the maple bacon! Its really great. They get it just right. Strawberry is also fantastic. Friendly people. Free charging stations at the Harris Teeter parking garage!

FANTASTIC, warm, delicious donuts. Making up your own combinations is fun, but they also have specials like cinnamon bun and Reeces. Give it a try. The only thing is there is a minor wait. If you were hoping to just run in and get a dozen random flavors, think again. Each donut is made on demand. Im sure you can call an order ahead, but nothing beats a warm, fresh piece of fried pastry.

Not a big fan of donuts in general, but Ill make an exception for these. OMG! Fresh, soft, tasty... In our family the lemon glazed (the tartness compliments the fattiness making optimal combo of fat, sweetness and acidity) and the vanilla glazed with coconut always get eaten first. Sinfully delicious! Cant visit too often or else our entire family would be diabetic!

The Chipotle model of customization - for donuts. You choose the flavor and toppings, they make them fresh in front of you. Hot and tasty, my experience was good - except for the donuts were not cooked through. I went back a second time and the donuts were done perfectly. Definitely worth the trip.

Check your prices. I went and got only 4 donuts but somehow it totalled to $15 - only 1 of it was a special donut. My friend got 6 donuts for $12 and she got 2 special donuts... Besides the pricing discrepancy the donuts are good. My grandsons love the strawberry coconut or the m&m donut.

This place is amazing the guys at the verizon store told me about this. You get to customize your donuts and the price is fair. Also checkout the verizon store those guys helped me get a new phone and a free tab ask for Bryan when you go very helpful.

As huge fans of fresh warm Krispy Kreme donuts, I think this may be our new favorite. Kind of apples to oranges as they are different types of donuts. Duck Donuts are easily the best cake donuts I have ever had.

Ok first time was great. Now very slow. One guy makes the donuts and another one is on his cell phone! I mean I think he is a manager and this is taking forever . Not a good follow up experience at all.

Cake type donuts with almost any topping you could wish. Order one to dozens at a time. The donuts are made fresh on the premises. If you are watching your cholesterol ... better drive past this store.

Very good doughnuts. Just make sure you get there before everyone else in the neighborhood (and all the kids!) does at 9am on Saturday mornings, or youll wait for while.

I really like fresh warm donuts; skip the heavy flavors and toppings, but a warm cinnamon and sugar donut fresh out of the fryer is all I need to be happy most any time

OMG unbelievable donuts. Cooked fresh while you wait and choose your toppings. This is a destination place. After one trip you wont buy donuts anywhere else again.

The batter used to make the doughnuts combined with the free icing and toppings options makes this place a must go if you are in the area. One of a kind doughnuts.

Bathroom was out of service, cash machine was out of service too. They wanted exact change or to write down a credit card number and name. Seemed sketchy to me.

Best donuts you can buy. Made fresh when you order. The only down side is the place is so popular that the wait time is a little long due to all the orders.
