Third Rate service here. There are plenty of better options for car electronics and installations in the Salt Lake Valley and you would be better off steering completely clear of this place. My wife with all her good intentions purchased an iPod/iPhone kit and installation for me for Christmas. $300 later and assuming that the people helping her knew what they were talking about she walked out with the most basic of kits, which also happened to be the only product they carried. I returned to ask if they had a kit with the iPod adapter and not just the aux adapters (which were online for $140 less than this place charged) and was informed by the individual that my car wasnt compatible for iPod adapter only the aux adapters. I found this interesting as 4 other car audio stores in the valley and multiple online searches said differently. After locating 3 different stores (Best buy, Car Concepts, and Laketown Speed and Sound) who would install the kit with both iPod adapter and aux for $50 less than this place, or Bluetooth compatibility for same price, I attempted to return kit because it was not what I needed. I was told by associate all sales are final and I could only get in store credit. Yes this is clearly stated throughout the store as the associate pointed out. Problem is Sound Warehouse does not carry what I need (selection and options are horrible) and due to the poor third rate, unknowledgeable service my wife received I would not spend another dollar in this store. With that said my advice is steer clear of Sound Warehouse. The other stores I mentioned seem to have staff that truly know what they are doing and a much better variety of options and at a better price. Trust me take your hard earned money elsewhere you will be glad you did.

Dont waste your time going to Sound Warehouse in Salt Lake City, Utah I went in because my car alarm was not working correctly. That means the remote starter would turn the engine over but not stay on.(alarm system not installed by Sound Warehouse). I was told my system needed to be reprogrammed. Made an appointment to return. Day of my appointment I was sick and called them to cancel. The following week I went on their website and filled out their form to be contacted... *Never heard back from anyone. A couple of weeks later and the second time of my battery dead and needed to call another business for assistance. After getting my car running, I drove straight to Sound Warehouse and told them about the battery being dead because of the alarm system. They made me another appointment. I showed up on time. I was expecting the system to be fixed so everything worked. After talking to the technician about the remote starter, he told me he cant fix that. I told him to disconnect (this means unplugging the connection to the car just like you would unplug a lamp from the wall outlet) the system. I paid almost $70. I get home and notice the remote starter was not on my key chain. I called back to ask where it was? I was told the system got pulled out and the remote taken off my key chain to be thrown away! At this point Im really upset not understanding what happened. I went back again to get my remote and was handed a bag with the whole system and wires in it.... OMG OMG! Were talking about a $500 system yanked out that was FIXABLE! The employee proceeded to argue about what I had said and what had happened. Thats NOT how you treat people!

I went into this location, I have been price shopping for a system for my car. the guy I talked to. I asked him to give me a quote and told him what I was looking for. he wrote the parts with the prices in barely legible handwriting on the back of 2 business cards. gave me a total of 3200 dollars. I was not impressed with the show room, very disorganized. parts, tools, packages everywhere. he told me he was giving me top of the line amps just below competition level with a P2 sub, two of them. I told him I was going to continue price checking and would get back to him. I went to The HI-FI shop in roy Utah. the guy I talked to there was very intelligent, very organized, their show room is very clean and organized with displays set up to show you the sound. they also put me into a vehicle that they had installed the speakers in.I was impressed that they were able to do that. Sound warehouse is not able to do that. the guy at the hi fi shop also showed me that the amp the t400 has been discontinued by rockford and gave me a price on the newer model. I ended up getting a system with a T1 sub in a custom made box for the speaker to fit my trunk with alpine hi and lows for the exact same price as sound warehouse... I will never use or recommend sound warehouse.. since then i have heard horror stories about sound warehouse and I am very grateful that I did not use them... bottom line is, I got a better system, cleaner instal for the same price that sound ware house was going to do and they were going to sell me discontinued equipment.... stay away from this place if you really want to be treated right go to the hi fi shop and talk to Jason or Nick

This place installed a remote start and alarm on my car. Everything worked great and then randomly my remote start wouldnt work so i took the car in and they fixed it. Then shortly after it again stopped powering the car off if i stepped on the brake like it was supposed to as a safety switch so i went back. I ended up talking to Mike Wellington and it was as if i was the one inconveniencing him and his shop. After like 2hrs of trying to fix whatever the issue was he ended up telling me that the brain was bad and that unfortunately they couldnt fix it. Dont worry though he was quick to offer me a deal by knocking off $100-$150 off a new alarm remote start system. Why the hell would i buy another unit just to have it fail on me again? These guys seem to care about getting you to buy their product but dont expect much help when/if you have issues, that is something they dont really want to spend any time diagnosing. I get it, they arent making money on that so i will never support their business again. To this day the remote start isnt working correctly but after dealing with Sound warehouse several times i honestly fear that they would do something to my alarm or car that its not worth going back there again. Their customer service blows.

These guys have no idea what they are doing or selling. Two weeks ago I made an appointment to get a Kenwood Deck installed in my 2005 Toyota 4 Runner. The associate asked what kind of vehicle I had, and then said the Kenwood model selling for $139.99 was the most bought model, would include installation, and would work perfectly for my vehicle. Today (two weeks later), I went to drop my vehicle off only to discover I would have to pay an additional $130 to have that model installed so it would work with my steering wheel controls also. If I would have known from the beginning of the extra work NEEDED to complete the system, I would have never made an appointment to have these goofs install it in the first place. If you are a person who does not know how to install stereo systems yourself, you better find a company with a better reputation to do it, or else you might be another person these people tell you a system will work in your vehicle, only to have to pay more and more to have it completed. Good luck to you music lovers like me!
