These people are really awesome. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. This is where Ill be taking my bike from now on. Anytime I have a problem or need something, the staff here has been able to help me. They even are cool with letting me hang around and watch them do the repair on my bike all the while giving me step-by-step instructions on how to do the repair and what tools I will need to do it for my bike so that I can do it the next time. Ive learned a lot, and I never feel like Im being pushed into buying something I dont need. Support your local bike shop- even if theyre prices are slightly higher than walmart (ugh) or another large chain, at least youre supporting your community and helping it be a more vibrant place to live.

Called to ask if they could help me identify a kayak rack that would fit my car and my kayak that they might have in stock. The woman, Alison (sp?) scoffed and chuckled at me, was incredibly condescending, and not helpful at all: "Well, you need crossbars which are bars that go across the top of your car--does that makes sense?", "Any kayak rack will fit your kayak." Nice job, Wasatch Touring. Show your potential customers some respect. Would love to support a local business, but holy hell, that woman was miserable and destroyed any chance of me spending money at your store. Guess Ill go to REI.

While the initial welcome may have been a little sub-par, it didnt seem that any employees were mindlessly occupied, but, rather, genuinely busy. The store layout is inviting enough, so Id say just browse a little while you wait. Once it was my turn, the service was great. The bike mechanic was informative and respectful. And I liked that the bike shop-area is WIDE open. As for all the reviews that suggest this place is a little off (...because the employees are busy working, go figure), dont mind them; I waited my turn and I got what I paid for.

Wasatch Touring is a great shop with a big selection, but what really makes it stand out is the service. They really go out of their way to make sure you leave satisfied. I had an issue recently with an accidental overcharge on my bill, and they took care of it immediately . Thats what really makes a place stand out, in my opinion - something is bound to go wrong eventually no matter where you go, but if you find a place that can deal with issues quickly and professionally, stick with them! Ill definitely be coming back.

This place has turned around. Had a couple pairs of skis mounted here in the past, job was done properly, but I wasnt bowled over by the service or attention walking in. Came in last week in to have a new pair of sticks mounted, I was greeted immediately, escorted to the service desk, and a ticket was written promptly. I was told the job would be done on Friday afternoon, and I got a courtesy call to confirm it was done as promised. Staff was alert and eager to please. Ill be coming back.

If you are into "Specialized" this is one of the best places to go, best in Salt Lake at least. The staff is helpful, honest, friendly and they will help you no matter what type of bike you have. The service was a little expensive, but reasonable. Im happy. The only thing is that almost everything is "specialized" centered for bikes, so you wont find a huge variety, but its still a good place to find outdoor equipment.

The owners of the shop are friendly, attentive, and helpful - but many of the people working for them there are just the opposite, and worse. Prices on most things are typical. Selection is also typical for a brick and mortar store. I had some work done on my bike that took almost four times longer than I was told it would. This shop is okay - but Ill be visiting other shops for better service.

Just had a quick repair in the middle of the biggest storm system this year. My skin clip broke/wore off and I needed a new one. Not a big deal but an issue that would make getting out tomorrow or the next day a problem. They took me in and got me fixed up in 15 minutes for $10. I tell you, this is service. I will be back and buy some gear in the future. Shops like this deserve our business.

Not A great experience. They mounted the wrong size tele bindings on my brand new skis, despite having my boots there. When I went back and asked them to switch the bindings with new ones I bought, they wanted to charge me the full mounting price again (which is higher than any other shop in SLC). Some employees are chill while others are pretentious. I wont give them any more of my business.

Wasatch touring is incredible! I have come here to get bike parts and maintenance help on many occasions, and have always left extremely pleased. The staff is sociable, knowledgeable, and give excellent service. 9/10 I can ride my bike in, they immediately come to my aid, and Im in and out within 15 minutes. If I were still in town, Id for sure still be going here for my biking needs.

I love Wasatch Touring! I can always count on an exciting dinner and cocktail menu. I have never experienced a disappointing meal. It continues to exceed my expectations. Its been on my top five since it opened a year ago. Its become a favorite of many, so I definitely recommend a reservation when dining. The upstairs bar will do if looking to have a casual bite.

My Experience: You are greeted about half the time. Product knowledge is ok but seems that every ski would be good for me. Sales prices are ok. Will not negotiate on non sale items even when you can just walk and get it cheaper elsewhere. I guess this makes sense to them and that an inventory of 2011 and 2012 product models is better than cash flow.

Such a great local treasure! Allison was so knowledgeable and helpful last time I was in, seriously knows everything there is to know about whitewater gear. One question: how do I get that Wasatch Touring t-shirt she was wearing!?? Loved it, want to show my support for local businesses!

I went in for a mountain bike rental and received excellent customer service. The gentlemen that helped me were extremely knowledgeable and kind. They asked about where I was going and fitted me with a ride specific bike. Ill be recommending them to all my family and friends.

Ive been to this store many times over the past 19 years and have yet to have a negative experience. My wife and I both bought our bikes there and they have always been very courteous, patient, and knowledgeable.

Purchased a bike from them 6 years ago, and again today. Good prices and service then, good prices and service today. Actually better service, they now give 1 full year free of tuning instead of 1 free tuning.

Dont know the Utah wilderness? This is the place to stop and get your bearings. They are great for customer service and will point you in the right direction depending on the activity to seek.

The people there are helpful and professional. I feel comfortable going in and asking for assistance. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get a tune up or just browse around.
