There are some decent items in Harbor Freights selection but what keeps it from any higher stars is the professionalism and training of the staff. I have gone here for years and thats always the area I see as the biggest miss in this location. I have seen employees be rude or condescending to those not offering their phone number after asking if they receive the flyer. I have seen customers get brushed off when theyre asking questions. I have seen a manager not know specific items in the store and tell a customer, "youll just have to look yourself, were busy." I know theyre told/trained to ask for customer info but taking it as a serious mission that effects professional behavior is not worth it. Its a turn off. As well, their cashier efficiency has always been an issue. The reason I fault training here is because I see plenty of opportunity to increase sales and the locations reputation by teaching the cashiers and staff how to be effective and efficient. If it were a single case or employee, I wouldnt mention it but it seems to be an issue nearly every time I shop there. Its a culture and training issue, no doubt. Its a great location for the store and I am sure its one of the more (if not most) profitable stores but that is only more of a reason to improve the culture and expectations of employees.

I cant speak for other Harbor Freight locations but the one on 3300 South in Salt Lake City is an abomination. Granted, you expect the quality of their tools to be poor given the dirt cheap prices. But the appeal and service is by far the worst I have ever experienced in my life. The property looks like it just survived a hurricane. Trash is usually scattered about the front property and the floors are barely clean. But the worst thing about it is the customer service. The employees are rude, ornery, irritable, slow and highly unkempt. Its like the managers go recruiting at a homeless shelter or something and dont expect their employees to come to work bathed. Frankly, theyre all covered in disgusting tattoos, body piercings, and their clothes look like the back side of a canvas mess hall from Vietnam. If there is any HFT manager reading this, please please please buy a pair of glasses and take action immediately. Why do I keep going back? Believe me, Id switch to a comparable source in a heartbeat but its the only place I know of that sells the HVLP sprayers I need at $20 a pop! Just goes to show some of us are gluttons for punishment.

We purchased a steamer from this location. We purchased an extended warranty we have been known to be extremely hard on tools Anyhow, when Sherrie the cashier handed me the receipt she reminded me to get online and register to ensure our warranty service. Now in layman thinking that means if you dont register this we wont even pretend to know who you are if you attempt to have the product repaired or replaced. Well sure enough, when using the steamer it fell from about five feet and cracked the pressure lid. Not only had we forgot to register online the receipt had been submitted to our accountatnt for processing. So I put the steamer in the car and headed down to Harbor Freight Tools. I was greeted with a smile at the door and told them my predictament. I was amazed at the response. No Problem. Let me call t and register that for you and I will have Terry pull you a new from the back." WOW I exclaimed. That is what I call 5 star customer service. I will shop here again anytime! When you have employees that act like on site owners youve got it made in the shade!

Awesome place to buy tools you use occasionally. They are not the best quality, but will get the job done without spending much money. I would not buy any tools from them that I intend to use frequently, but they are perfect for occasional use.

Found the yard tools I was looking for at an awesome price. I even picked up that yellow electric fly swatter. That thing is a beast. Robert 7 flies 0. Picked up an extra one for outside by the BBQ for yellow jackets.

This Harbor Freight is a bit older and shabbier, but it still has the same service and selection of inexpensive tools and materials. The bathroom was especially worn here, but it was clean when I visited.

Its a harbor freight, you get what you pay for. I have had no problems with any of their tools but youre not buying forever tools youre just buying something to get you by. Comes in handy all the time.

Low priced tools. Not the best tools but for the price not bad. Store is clean although at times parking can be a challenge unless you park way on the back and walk around

Product prices cant be beat plus they offer many freebies and coupons online. The staff are helpful and friendly and pay more attention than at a lowes or Home Depot.

Just off of state street for easy access. This is fairly organized clean store even tho the outside looks a bit run down. The tool prices and sales are amazing.

Tools are cheap great selection. Tools are cheap and dont kast long, its always better to buy better tools then fight with cheap tools.
