After purchasing a plumbing item for 4X the cost of home depot I realized the part didnt fit exactly so I went looking to exchange the product simply for a different size. (I know, I know, that I should have been more diligent about getting the right size), however upon returning and simply wanting the other size I went to refund the first one and the gal at the front desk berated me for what seemed like forever on how the package was opened. She gave me some pretty harsh looks and fought me about the return simply for how I had opened the bag. To say I was surprised would be an extreme understatement. In a culture where customer service is a priority, this apparently isnt true at ACE in Olympus Hills. Apparently I opened the bag like a neanderthal and am not up to par with first world civilization and ripped it open like the Tasmanian devil. In going through business school, I understand that each negative review accounts for loss of at least 10 customers, while I dont want anyone to be out of business, I do hope this review does inform others of how this ACE operates. So, off to home depot I go with all my business, even though ACE is quite a bit closer, they will not be seeing this face again anytime in the near future. Hope this helps others and that home depot is significantly cheaper, more helpful staff members, not anywhere near the issues for returning an item, much larger selection, simply put... vastly superior compared to ACE.

My husband and dad went to buy a large light fixture for our garage, and two bulbs for the light. A few days later while looking at the receipt, we realized we were charged for two light fixtures. I took the receipt and went back in to tell the manager about the mistake. He said he checked the inventory and it was all accurate, so he couldnt give me my money back. I felt so humiliated. I wouldnt lie about a $13.99 light. Also, why had we bought only two long bulbs? If each light needed two we would have bought four. There was no point in arguing with him when he was basically telling me I was lying. Side note, I showed the receipt again to my husband tonight, and there was yet another mistake. We were charged for a snow brush that we did not buy. My husband said he remembered seeing some on the counter and somehow we were charged for one. I will not be returning to this Ace Hardware again.

So i went there today and was maybe 10 min early before they open and they where all putting things out and would not let me in said it wasnt time yet, i figure whats the big deal it will probably take me that long to look for what i want befor i need to be rung up, so i drove to Home Depot in less then 10 min, I also saw them turn away 3 others and i saw 2 of the 3 at home depot as well. I have other problems there so i wont be returning to that ace ever again, if i need an ace there are 6 others less then 30 miles from my home.

Brought in a tripod I bought at a thrift store, immediately was asked if I needed any help. Already off to a great start. Then I said "lets make this a hipster tripod lamp. That employee continued to help me pick out all the hardware I needed and for a total of $24 I had a DIY hipster tripod lamp in 30 minutes. They seem to hire whatever high school kids apply for a job there but regardless of swell or lame customer service i would say this hardware store usually has whatever weird crap I need on any given day.

Saw a $7.99 socket set at Harbor Freight and thought Id buy Craftsman since I like their quality. Im only removing a motorcycle drain plug, so pretty much anything will work. They wanted $32! I showed the manager that even on the Sears website that exact part-number was selling for $21.99 but he refused to price match. Funny thing, I just bought a 1906 home that needs EVERYTHING. Lowes and Home Depot appreciate this stores lack of customer service to the tune of about $10,000. Each...

This Ace has changed management recently. I am not sure how to contact those of you who have written good or bad. I would like to thank those who have posted positive feedback. For those who havent had such a great experience. WE have made a lot of changes and would love to see you back in here next time you need a part or just want to stop in for a bag of popcorn. We look forward to seeing you!!

The employee at the front check out desk didnt even know the prices of the items sold in the store and didnt want to look them up. He just stood there and wouldnt go and find the price so we could checkout. Luckily another employee who was sweeping the floor went back and found the prices.

Very Helpful. On the afternoon of July 4th, I went in for paint for a project. I didnt see the early closure sign, but Chris and Bill kindly stayed an extra hour after closing to help mix paint and make sure we had everything we needed. A-- Always C--Courteous E-- Employees

Not quite as much selection as the downtown location, but the staff have always been friendly and helpful. I usually go in without knowing exactly what I need to solve a problem, and the staff always comes up with creative solutions and points me to the parts I need.

Staff is not kind or helpful. That said, selection is fine. Have found that the store is always in shambles. The nuts and bolts bins are always mixed up and you have to use a guide to ensure that you are actually grabbing the right size.

It feels smaller than other Ace Hardware store, but they have a great metric selection. By the way, is it too hard to spell HARDWARE? It was harder than necessary to Google you. And they close in the PM hours, not AM.

A small hardware store with nice, helpful people. If you need something quick, dont run all the way over to one of the big box stores, try this place instead.

Ace at Olympus Hills is always my go to when I need specialty screws or nuts. I find the staff very helpful and knowledgable.

If you need hard to find hardware (nuts and bolts) they have a much more extensive variety than the big box stores.
