We stopped by American Tattoo Company right after lunch. A friendly guy greeted us when we walked in. I showed him what I wanted and he went to the back to grab an artist. Dominic took the time to listen to what I wanted. I showed him pics on my phone and he went to the back to draw them up, he shrunk it down as small as he could, but it was still too big for where I wanted the tattoo. He explained that with the water color like I wanted, it needed to be bigger or it wouldnt look right. I really had my mind set on getting the tattoo on my forearm and the drawing would wrap around my arm, so I asked if it was ok to change my tattoo. He was very friendly and didnt mind at all. I apologized for all his hard work he did creating the drawing for me and again he said its no problem, and how its part of the job. He went to the back again to draw up my new design. I asked for 2 humming bird silhouettes, flying in opposite directions. I wanted the wings to be faded color to look like they were flapping fast while hovering. I showed an example pic. Over all Im very pleased with my experience with Dominic. The tattoo color didnt fade from purple to pink the way I had hoped, and the color stops with a straight line (I wanted it to look faded and blurred on the ends like the example pic so it looked like the wings were flapping so fast they blurred...) but Im still extremely happy with my tattoo. Its a little different than what I envisioned it, but I like that its original and my own :) The hummingbird wing that faded from blue/ teal/ green turned out great. I may call him and see if theres anything he can do to help the purple fade to pink more smoothly, but for now Im letting it heal. Im 1.5 weeks post tattoo, all the skin peeking is done, but it still feels like a sunburn when I rub aquifer or lotion on it. While I was in there the first artist desk area was doing a really cool design on a womans back. Another guy was there and the artist all the way to the back of the room designed a very important piece for a Marine. He worked and worked until his client was happy with every detail. His tattoo turned out great. All black, thin letters. I liked that they didnt push sales for their tattoo ointment. he mentioned a few different ointments and I had auqifer already so I chose to use that. Followed the directions on the paper they sent me home with. Overall rating: 5 stars for cleanliness, staff friendliness, helpfulness, willing to work with me after I changed my mind. 4 stars for the tattoo, because the color of the purple to pink fade didnt turn out very smooth like the blue/ teal/ green color did. Ill add pics of the tattoo. Im very pleased with everything and would definitely recommend Dominic and Anerican Tattoo Company.

I went in the last week with some friends to get our first tattoos. The receptionist was very friendly and answered every question we had. When the artist, he never told me his name but he was the one with a beard, asked me what i wanted and i showed him a picture off my phone, he glanced at it and went to the back to draw it up. When he finished he showed it to me and it was a complete different drawing. I again showed him my phone to draw the exact picture and he came up with a lame excuse why it wouldnt look good. So in the excitement of getting my first tat i just agreed to what he drew. As he was about to start tattooing i told him i wanted the lines the be thinner, he nodded and ended up not doing what I asked. And by the time i noticed it was too late. I was just a little upset that he didnt listen to what I asked. But overall I do love my tattoo and i dont regret it, i just wished he actually listened to what i said. After he finished with my tattoo he started on my friend, when she told him what she wanted and how big he did the complete opposite and drew it huge, when she only wanted it the size of a quarter. When she asked him to redraw it he rolled his eyes and did what she said. After he finished tattooing we all realized the lines were not straight at all. It literally looked like a 5 year old tattooed her. Ive always trusted yalls shop for all my piercings but Im very disappointed how this artist treated us. I understand it was somewhat late at night and he must of been tired but literally im paying you to do something that will be on my skin forever, you could at-least humor us and pretend to be happy.

I went to this tanning salon in high school ( I graduated in 2003). It used to be a tanning and fitness salon...once more gyms where being opened in the area they closed the fitness center down to have it just tanning. Then they added on the tattoo stuido...At first is was no big deal and it wasnt so bad. Then once people realized there was a tattoo studio there it got horrible! I would come tan around 7 or 8 and there would be people drinking in the parking lot, tattooist smoking and drinking it was just horrible. I stopped going tanning there and started tanning else where! I was back in Spring visiting family and my friend needed to get a new nose ring, it was about 4pm that day so we pulled in and went in. They now had the owners wifes sister working the counter who was wearing combat boots...chains...spiked hair...tattoos all over...piercings all over!!! I was shocked. I could see hiring someone who looked like that for dealing with the people who are getting tattoos and piercings but not when they are dealing with both sides of the company. It was ridicouls. Not to mention that there are girls WHO ARE MINORS (may I add) that go in there to tan and are having to hear these people talking about getting private parts pierced and all kinds of unapproiate things. This place needs to get shut down or at least get seperated!!!

I went in about a month ago and got my tatto done by Hector my arm was cut several times during the process the cuts healed up but my tatto was very poorly done the ink was very light and fell off in some spots and I followed the care instructions as recommended! I went in on yesterday which was Tuesday for the free touch up he offered and was told we only do touch ups Monday thru Thursday and he couldnt do it on this particular day so I asked what about tomorrow his reply was no try back next Monday basically giving me the run around because he wasnt Interested in doing a free touch up! No one was in line or waiting he just didnt want to do it. I ended up going to another shop the same day getting it fix and touched up and it came out great Royal Avenue Tatto shop transformed my pale reck of a tattoo into what it should have been from the start!

I had a very pleasant experience with American Tatoos. I had my first tattoo done here and Cam was the artist. He went above and beyond to make sure I had exactly what I wanted. He spent hours on a design and had plenty of patience with me changing my mind numerous times... I highly recommend Cam. Also the staff / owners were very courteous and professional. Im surprised to see the negative reviews. Then again, most peoe only post a review when they have something negative to say. Im not saying people havent had bad experiences with this business, Im simply saying mine was very pleasant and everyone was very professional.
