This is an update: please read this whole review before even stepping foot in their door. I made a large purchase (over $20,000) and cannot be more disappointed. First, the delivery came well over the advertised 30 days and almost two months later, my order is not complete. I should have gone to Rooms to go for my furniture as the quality is the same and I would have had my order in a week and would have saved a lot of money. I found that it is much more cost-effective to go to specialty stores to get whats needed. For example, for drapery, go to a window treatment specialist. I realize that this might make for a slight inconvenience, but it would be well-worth it as your frustration would likely be spared. So, now, almost two months later, my order is still not complete, in addition, I have to wait for Bassetts installer to have the time to install what I ordered, that is, not until my order is delivered. I have lots more that I need to buy, but will take my business elsewhere. Overall, I regret the day I walked into this place and fed false promises. Months later and still having problems. No one to install drapery. Looking back, From all the crap that Chelsea sold us, I lost my living room space as I trusted her too much and bought everything she suggested. I have enough furniture to open my own store!!!!! They dont refund, but I am going to do what my lawyer told me to do and if that doesnt work, off to court we go and the better business bureau will know about this and the news and I will be posting a review in the local newspaper. More to come...............Bottom line, if you want good furniture and furnishings where someone wont try to sell you everything, then not deliver, go to Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware. The saleswoman made sense of her job by telling me "that I have the best job as I get to spend everyone elses money." What a shame.

After going through every furniture store possible in the SA area, we were pleased to find a quality bedroom set for a not so cheap price. Our sales woman looked up the time of delivery as Bassett does not have their furniture in stock, and we were told to expect 3 weeks. It was hard to wait 3 weeks for our furniture, but we figured it was worth the wait. One week prior to the original delivery date, we were told that it was on back order and it would take another MONTH. The month passes and we dont even recieve a phone call. Only after calling them several times without response, they said that they would have our sales person call back when they returned from vacation. I told them that was not acceptable and that I wanted an answer right away. Still... nothing. Two days later I call our sales person and she said that she did not have an answer. She then said that she had to send someone in her company an email to enquire and that she would get back to me (this was on a Saturday) no later than Tuesday. Thats too long for me.... Here it is Tuesday, and still no phone call and still no furniture. Why cant stores deliver on what they promise. Had they said that our furniture was two plus months out, we NEVER would have purchased. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN, AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND TO A FRIEND.

Do not shop here unless you want to pay a 33% restocking fee if you change your mind within six business hours. They will not cancel your credit order under any circumstances. They do not hit you with the 33% terms until after you have signed all paperwork for financing, and are walking out the door, which is very unfair to consumer. I found a couch cheaper, better color, and better quality somewhere else and store manager Lisa said too bad, either you pay us $1300 restocking fee for nothing, or you buy a couch you are not happy with. Bassett is extremely expensive, with only money on their mind, and don’t care about customer satisfaction. This is the first time we have been in situation where we were unhappy with a product and could not return. They basically said you are keeping the couch whether you like it or not. We both feel robbed and don’t want anyone else to feel this way.

I had recently bought a new house and wanted new furniture but didnt want the hassle of figuring out designs. On the recommendation of another customer in my neighborhood, I went to Bassett. I met a skilled designer named CindyG, who came to my house, took measurements, listened to my concerns, took thorough notes and said shed see what she could do. She selected a new bedroom set, an area rug, a china cabinet, a dining room table and some other items. Everything looks excellent and better yet, she found some items on clearance which saved quite a bit of money. Bassett is NOT cheap! I am very pleased. I gave four stars instead of five, because of Bassetts very high prices. But all things considered, I am very pleased with their products and services.

I have had my sectional for going on 4 years, I recently started having issues with it, when i contacted the warranty department, they have been nothing but rude. They have not been helpful at all. I have requested to speak to a manager but they are giving me the run around with that too. Although the furniture is good quality, the hassle with the warranty and their lack of customer service makes it not worth it. I do not see myself purchasing from Bassett again.

Our sales person, Carol Hilburn, is great, but I dont think I will be buying anymore furniture from Bassett. The media center we ordered was delivered without all the hardware and missing one of the shelves. It has been almost 2 months and we still do not have a complete media center. Carol has been great but their service department is horrible.

Worst customer service experience you can get in a furniture store in San Antonio -- do not buy furniture from this store -- if its defective and you call them as early as the day after it arrives -- nothing will be done -- very very disappointing
