This fantastic hobby store in Rockwall is any childs dream come true. In fact, its most grown mens dream come true too! The store is clean, well organized and packed full of fun stuff. RC toys of all varieties, trains, planes, boats and tanks. Puzzles, Lego, model cars and even vintage candy. This is easily the best "toy" store in Rockwall, and one of the best hobby shops in the area. The reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is for two reasons. Number 1 is that the prices are on the high side of the spectrum. Most of the items here can be found online at substantial discounts. 2nd is that their main location in Dallas is literally 3-4 times larger with a vastly improved selection. If the Dallas Store was Barnes and Noble, the Rockwall location would be half price books. All the same, a friendly staff, cool selection and high end items make this a must visit destination for the kid at heart. Just bring your credit card with you.

I actually visit this location frequently for years now and have had nothing but good things to say about the employees, especially Joe and Bruce. They have always pointed me in the right direction or pointed me toward the bigger facility in Dallas. Ive read some negative reviews here, but many of them complain about "prices" or receiving no help. First of all, it is a hobby not toys, yes they will be more expensive; and if you read the signs posted in the store, in order for the employees to work on YOUR vehicle, there is a timed charge fee. Joe has always been honest when recommending a product there and really backs a product if he has had experience with it. I have been to many hobby shops around the DFW and even in Austin, Belton, Houston, and Oklahoma. You will get great service here.

told the fat clerk i wanted i wanted a rc car for around 100.00 he told me i was wasting my time all that was available was cars that cost 3-700.00 dollars. now i see there is the Losi micro, or even traxxas make 150.00 dollar cars. then this guy walks away as though i am wasting his time..... I will never shop here, I have a traxxas truck and will buy other cars and parts. but not from Hobby Town. I hope they go bankrupt. and fat boy can get his job at burger doodle where he should have stayed.

Be careful & pay attention when checking out. Each item has a "retail price" & "HobbyTown" price. Both times Ive bought from here, they rang the items up at retail price. I caught it the first time, pointed it out & he apologized and then gave me at the Hobby Town price. Went a second time & didnt realize until I was back home, (50miles away) that they did it again. So I ended up paying $20 more than what it said it cost. I am beginning to wonder if this is done on purpose.

bought my son a quadcopter for Christmas , out of the box it didnt work correctly , took it back , this place does not give refunds at all , so they said they could fix the problem , two weeks later , they call and say its ready , then they say its 32.00 to fix it , they dont back their products and they will never get anymore of my business at all . all that I can say is , BEWARE OF THIS PLACE ! Bought a latrax quad copter. It ran great out of box but after about 20-30 min of flight it started acting erratic. Took back to hobbytown and they told me to take it to the manufacturer. No help. I brought it back the next day after purchase. I understand the liabilities of purchasing hobby junk but good lord. Save your money and buy from China... At least you know youll be buying junk!

neat store and great customer service, the music in the store is quite agrivating and seems to promote more of a dance club then a hobbyshop. offensive rap was playing as me and my child were in the store ...not really something i want to return to if its something thats continues. other hobby shops in the area are more tastefull and apealing with what they provide for an atmosphere

I have been trying to get a part for an RC car only sold through Hobby Town USA. They can not seem to keep the part in stock and they wont reserve any. They tell me to "Keep coming back. They will eventually have one in stock". I was even told over the phone once that they had one in stock when they really did not. The manager is very helpful. The other employees, not so much.

I bought a UMX RADIAN there. I forgot the name of the guy who helped me (my fault not his) but he was friendly and passionate about the hobby. He opened the box and checked the little glider to make sure it was legit. It flew great! I recommend the UMX Radian as a first plane, easy to fly and glides wonderfully Thanks guys!

I bought a motor for my plane from this store. After one month, and a handful of flights, it stopped working. Took everything back to store to get help, only for them to say they couldnt help me. The clerk behind the counter was actually rather rude on top of not helpful. I will not be returning to this store or this chain.

Awesome place to visit to find all sorts of hobby related gear, from RC Planes, Trains, Boats, Cars, Airsoft and Scale Model vehicles. Prices can be higher than finding similar gear online, but still an awesome place for hands-on shopping experience.
