Went into this hobbytown on 3/28/16 to buy some paint seeing as they are the only ones who have Mr color in dfw. They had a model kit I had been wanting there but for $80 something. I asked if they would price match seeing as the Dallas and Lewisville stores are very good about that. The lady working the register said no we do not price match. I asked what about to another Hobbytown and said they had the Model Kit i wanted for $45. She told me to just go there then. (wtf?!?!) So I put the kit back while she rang up my paint. I told her I was part of the Texas Gundam Club and she said it only apply s to Gundam Kits and only to one per purchase. Lewisville/Dallas Does the discount to anything that can be related to Gundam Kits. Kits, Paint, Tools, ETC. When i told her that again she told me to just go there. So then I told her I was Also part of IPMS. She accused me of lying. I get there franchised and Owned by different people but thats not excuse to be so rude long story short there prices suck Rude and Idiots only reason they probably have any model customers is because there lucky enough to have a supply of Mr. Color paints

The store has just about everything you would need as a hobbyist. If not they can order it delivered to the store or delivered to your home. There are usually interesting displays up sewing products for sale set up and operating. I once went into the store and ordered something to have it delivered to the store free shipping and the store was going to call me and I would come pick it up. It was a $100 item. I never got a call on the day I was supposed to be in. So I waited a few days and call them asking whether they had received my shipment. After a lot of telephone tag and excuses, I found out that my item that I had already paid for got put on the Shelf for sale. I know it was my item because when I went in there my name and telephone number were still on the box. This was the last time I ordered anything in-store for delivery to the store.

Stay away from this store. I asked the sales guy to show me a decent RC car for my ten year old nephew and I finally bought one as they suggested. When I opened the box there was no battery wall charger and instead it came with cigarette lighter adapter for charging and when I called the store, they asked me to bring back the adapter for an exchange. I drove back to the store which is 40 mins drive and the store manager told me that they wont do exchange and the adapter is not available... Christmas is ruined for my nephew .... Paid huge price for an RC Car which we cannot charge ... Keep away from this store ... If you buy an item then pls do double check all accessories before leaving the store

Spent some 40 minutes looking at helicopters today and was dissapointed with the customer service here. The guy at the back of the shop had a line he could not handle and other employees were standing around looking bored. I needed to ask someone a question who happened to be pottering around at one of the other pay stations and he was actually ignoring me till I got his attention by just asking the question. He looked at me with a "dont disturb me" look on his face and said the guy at the back of the shop should have some leads on that. Told him about the line back there and he just said "oh well"!

I live in Frisco and drive to Plano every time I need something. They have great service and people. I live 5 minutes from a store near my home but will not go to it because of the bad service. It is called RC Zone. Dont ever go to this store and waste your time. The prices at Hobby Town are reasonable and they are super helpful. They really love what they do and want you to be a happy customer when you leave. I will never go to another store since I found this one. I got my Traxxas Stampede XVL from here and continue to get the parts to fix it when it breaks. Overall this is a GREAT place!

I have to agree with all the negative reviews and complaints about the customer service and bad pricing. I do not mind paying a little extra for retail but the general attitudes of the employees and managers is about the piss-poor level. When I ask questions I hope to be greeted with knowledge and information not defensive, angry, questioning of my lack of knowledge or prior research. Also - the prices are STUPID expensive no matter if they have stuff not readily available elsewhere. I will wait or even pay MORE just to not have to deal with useless employees. Bye!

I just bought my second RC car from these guys and I have bought several upgrades throughout the past year or so and they have always treated me like a valued customer. On top of that, they almost always have the parts in stock that I need, and 99% of the time they are cheaper than what I would pay for it online somewhere else. If I ever have a question about something, they always answer it, and if they dont know the answer, they find out for me. So I gotta give the guys at this Hobby Town 5 stars for their service, price, and personable service.

Had a great experience. Great customer Service with two of their employees, one was very helpful, Mike. Had tons of questions about RCs and he answered everyone. And the gentleman at the cash booth told me about an event, he overheard me talking about my kids, for the kids, handed me a flyer and off I went. Now the one in Walnut Hill was not like this at all. Not helpful and sold me something that already came with the RC, at the time I did not know, new to RCs. So I will not be going back to that store.

My wife and I visited this store today with the hope of purchasing one of their remote controlled boats. We were there for about 30 minutes (not that big of a store) and not once did any of them ask if we needed help. I wanted to catch the attention of one of the guys at the front to ask him a question, but all he was doing was talking with some friends. I will defintely call and complain about one of their employees. Ignoring a customer (espcially when the store is pratically empty) is just not right.

Very poor experience so far. Smart RC guys, when theyre there. Dont usually have in stock what I want, its always "well have it Wednesday" and you just hope they do. Was waiting for my 350 QX2 on wednesday but never showed. was there tonight, no RC guys on duty, nice gentleman that was there didnt have keys for the cabinet so couldnt inspect anything. very pooly managed not to have staff necessary. How I wish I could like this location! But I cant.
