PLEASE READ PLEASE READ PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i wish that i could just go back and never even go to this trashy awful place because my experience was terrible. first when i walked i was offerd a cigarette by a odd looking employee than i stepped in mud and nearly ruined my shoes because the floor was kept very unclean. next i tripped over a moldy pretzel bite that was left on the floor and no one asked me if i was okay or if i needed help i was actually even walked over by at least 3 people. then i went to clean my self up in the bathroom but i waited for like 15 mins until a employee sitting down drinking a Slurpee while on their phone said oh its locked by the way. And finally after being offerd 4 more cigarette i went to complain and the worker at customer services was asleep so i had enough and was walking out when a group of emo people tried to give me a tattoo. i managed to get away and got to my car and found 3 cups of soda on the hood and one was spilled and got inside the machinery along with 8 melted skittles. after i was offerd a cigarette i had to wait for someone to come get me because it would start up. Im never going back and i dont recommend it.

A man walks into a restaurant, hungry. His eyes adjust on a lady at the counter speaking to another customer. After a while the customer walks away and the man approaches the counter. She says hell have to wait 15 or so minutes. The man sits down on a plushy chair near the entrance. 32 minutes pass and the lady tells him that a table is ready. He follows the lady into the restaurant and takes a seat at the table. His hands rest on the white cloth covering and he holds the menu. The place is noisy with about three dozen conversations. Theres clinks and mumbles and a few laughs. He reads from the menu... Chicken something, beef something, beef something , beef something , chicken something , beef with something , fish something, chicken and something. Later hes eating chicken and something from a shiny plate with shiny silverware. The next day hes on the couch watching TV, its a western with a cowboy and something. Last week he was in front of the television watching an infomercial about something. 41 years later he dies. 50 years after that, hes still dead.

I have a great experience in the South Plains Mall every time I attend. I mean yes of course it isnt as glamorous as some other malls in bigger cities, but for a smaller city such as Lubbock, TX, it is pretty nice. They have 162 stores, each in which all the employees try their very best to appease your shopping needs. Their food court isnt extravagant, but the food is good and people do sure seem to enjoy it. They are currently remodeling on the inside and I already know that it will be successful. Many people complain that the exterior of the building is old, drab, or needs to appear more modern, but not every mall needs an exterior so modern that it looks like a big ol spaceship sat in a parking lot!!! It was opened in 1972, the exterior remains the same and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. So, like I said before, the mall is great for a community such as Lubbock in my opinion.

Just ugly. I went earlier this year. Ugly building, no Macys? Nordstrom? Not even a good food court (would it kill them to have a Sonic?) It is kind of big but not really. Sure it has a few stores worth mentioning, but overall this is one of the blandest malls in Texas. I hope the remodel turns it around. While you are at it, remodel that ugly brown exterior. The place looks like a fortress. I only gave it 2 stars because the movie theater is one of the best Mall theaters in the state! I like how its 2 stories...but the mall is only one? Seems out of place being so modern yet connected to that run down building. I have finally found a mall worse than Irving mall and Southwest Center. Just go see a movie.

South Plains Mall has seriously gone downhill in recent years. They are currently doing some major renovations that will hopefully bring it back up to standard, but it wouldnt surprise me to see it close entirely in the next few years. Many of the shop fronts are empty or have been transitioned into "outlet" stores, there are so many kiosk vendors chasing you down to try their makeup/hand cream/flat irons, that its almost uncomfortable to walk around, and the parking is awful. One great thing is Barnes and Noble. Because it has its own entrance from the parking lot you can get in and out quickly without ever having to set foot in the main mall.

M.A.C store, the girls were very rude. I waited nearly 10 minutes for help. At least two girls stood at the cashier staring, until someone asked if I needed any assitance. Although I did get some kind of help. I felt rushed, I didnt get everything I wanted. So as rushed and unwelcomed I felt, I left faster than the time they helped me. The whole time I waited I overheard a "supervisors" almost complete life story about graduating from LSU, other job offering etc and telling me we will be with you in a minute. I go to texas every year, and I will NEVER be returning to this so called M.A.C store.

The mall did a major renovation earlier this year and it honestly looks amazing on the inside again. Definitely a major improvement! The problem is that suddenly many of the stores inside are closing their doors - many of which are only closing their Lubbock mall location. Others are moving to locations outside of the mall. My guess is the mall raised the rent to pay for the renovation and seems to have spooked off quite a few stores (this is only a guess) but it has definitely made going to the mall considerably more pointless when 2 of the halls are now almost devoid of stores.
