Many vehicle break-ins. Terrible parking lot security in a Beautiful Mall. Both the security guard and the San Antonio Police say they average at least 5 vehicle break-ins a day! No cameras in lots. I have a Sprinter Van (think of a FedEx van). All windows were blocked except the triangle window. That was the window they shattered. Nothing of value is in the vehicle and it appears they must have been in there less than a minute. Nothing taken. Both security and police say they were most likely looking for guns. I dont carry any. Also say vehicle they usually choose is a Truck and specifically they go for Ford Truck as they are easy to enter. Police officer said he feels he works for the mall. I was in the mall from 12-5:30 on a Tuesday. I was his 5th break-in call. He said the security guards dont do anything to deter this activity. No excuse for such an upscale mall not to have cameras and more patrol. Salesman in Nordstrom says he tells people not to put purchases in car and then return to mall for more shopping. The vandals are watching shoppers for this activity. This mall is in SW San Antonio. Police officer said this is where a majority of this activity happens. He said DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING OF VALUE IN CAR!!

If the Tanger Outlets in San Marcos is a bit too far for you to drive and the big all-indoor malls are too dark and drab for you; then head over to The Shops at La Cantera! Here, you can find something for everyone in your family and (around the Holidays) on your gift list! Youve got Build-A-Bear Workshop for the kids, LUSH cosmetics for all your bath needs!! Trendy shops like Forever 21, Hot Topic and more. There is also Neiman Marcus, Dillards and Nordstrom as your anchor stores. You have little snack stands that have Auntie Annes, Great American Cookies, Marble Slab Creamery and more. Along with full service restaurants such as Lucianos, The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Changs China Bistro and more. Fast food such as Chick-Fil-A for a quick bite to eat to refuel and keep you shopping! There is even a Starbucks! With jewelry shops like: Kay Jewelers, Helzberg Diamonds, fashion shops like: Coach, Macys, Tommy Bahama and Victorias Secret and more, tech stores like: Microsoft and Apple and places to get your vision checked, hair and nails done and so much more this place is another great one-stop-place to go! So bring some money, the family and make a day out of shopping at The Shops at La Cantera!

A nice walk but surprisingly little to offer. The mall is spread over a large area, so it would take about 20-30 minutes to walk around the perimeter. The mall is an open-air type, and there is more variety than an enclosed mall. However, many of the shops are high-end boutique places, i.e. those shops where there is limited inventory and no shoppers in sight, making you wonder how they stay in business. It has the usual mixture of clothing and jewelry stores, accessory shops, and the like. There are a number of restaurants available, most with patio seating. I cant say how the prices were at any of the shops or restaurants, as there was nothing that interested me; to me, its just a typical mall, just with some higher end stores available. If youre a mall-walker, then its a nice place to get exercise but, if youre a shopper, check the shop listings before you make a trek out there. The only added benefit is that it is near Six Flags amusement park, if that is something you care about.

I used to be an avid shopper at this mall but they dont know how to control their harassing security guards trying to tell me I couldnt take pictures at this mall or of anything at this mall when theres nothing on the code of conduct. The security guard was very hostile and the security office didnt care at all and tried to tell me some BS about how it wasnt allowed. So I called the SAPD and Bexar County sheriffs department. They told me that I wasnt doing anything wrong and that if anything like that happened again to call them and that if any further measures were taken about me taking some menial ass pics that it was harrassment. Well, Ill do that but this mall has left a bad taste in my mouth ever since. Its a shame because I really did like this place... Go to the Domain. Its better and the security guards there do not try to harass you for harmless stuff, they actually care about protecting you not harassing you.

Great stores, plenty of space to stroll around with your lady, solid places to eat. Steak, burgers, pizza, italian, chinese. You name it. Im getting hungry just thinking about the P.F. Changs over there, decent lunch specials. Good portion, just right for the hungry man on the go. Satisfying. Helping him contemplate the nature of existence by providing the baseline nutrition for his autonomous functions. Hes thinking... pondering... wondering. Dreaming of the America of tomorrow. Hes doing important things, making adult decisions, buying replacement laces for his fancy suit-wearing shoes cause he wore the other ones the F out! I AM GETTING SO STOKED THINKING ABOUT THIS MALL RIGHT NOW!! USA!! USA!! USA!! aaaaaaAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! **RIPS SHIRT AND REVEALS AMERICAN FLAG CHEST TATTOO** Majestic.

A number of years ago I was super impressed when towns in Germany sealed off their businesses from traffic for customer shopping. However, they lacked key essentials for making shopping a pleasurable experience. The Shops at LaCantera is what I envisioned a shopping center should be. It is my favorite over all the other centers & malls in San Antonio. No matter how large the center is or where you park your vehicle, you have easy access. The Shops are upscale and provide variety. The complex is well designed, excellent landscaping, public toilets, places throughout to sit & relax. Even customers who smoke have several outside areas to go to puff, relax & relieve their shopping tensions & stress. We always bring our guests here to shop.

Very nice outdoor mall with fancy high end shops. Think of it as a large strip center, but instead of being laid out in one long strip, they took it and turned it into a circle. This makes it SO much better than those HUGE outdoor shopping strips because traffic is MUCH less and you can actually walk from one end to the other without driving. Most if it is outside and they have even made it non smoking which is a plus in my book. Lots of restaurants to choose from - Yardhouse, PF Changs, Perrys Steakhouse, Cheesecake Factory, an Italian place, and much, much more. I dine there a lot but I dont actually recall purchasing anything from any of the stores. Too upscale for me I guess. :)

Check out maps first. This is a huge place of many major retail stores, eclectic shops, vendors, kiosk merchants and more. We walked around looking for "Build a Bear" and found Microsft, Aveda, Apple store, Barnes&Nobles, Chicos, and more before finding the Build a Bear! Maps are also useful in leaving. The traffic onto 1604 headed West was stacked in all lanes at 6pm. Chose to turn around and head to I-10. All directions were heavy traffic. Very popular area! Mid morning or mid day will be my choice next time! Fabulous place ... take good walking shoes!! Enjoy!!
