On Sunday May 12, 2016 at the Academy Located at Lakepointe Crossing in Lewisville Texas (2428 Stemmons Freeway) my wife and I purchased a bicycle for our daughter. Within two hours of having the bicycle home, the front brake malfunctioned and the bicycle was unable to be ridden as the front wheel was unable to rotate. My wife returned the bicycle. This was around 5:00PM. She informed me that when she got to the store, she struggled to get the bicycle inside and struggled even more to get it to the customer service desk. No employees helped her to do this even though an employee at the customer service cash register saw this. As she was waiting to be served at the customer service desk, another customer purchased a pack of gum. When she asked the aforementioned employee for assistance, he replied by saying "Im over here" as my wife was not immediately next the register he was assigned to. Not only did this employee not offer to help or ask other employees to assist my wife, he joked with the gum purchasing customer and laughed at her as she struggled to get the bike closer to his register. Up to that point, my wife was considering trading in the defective bicycle and purchasing another one from the Academy. But after the treatment she received, she elected to purchase a replacement bicycle at the Lewisville Toys R Us store which is in close proximity to where the Academy in Lewisville is located. When my wife went to Toys R Us, the employees were very helpful. Not only did they not laugh at her predicament, they assisted in loading the bicycle into her car by holding it at the front of the store while she drove closer (as it was raining heavily on that day) and actually helped her load it into the trunk of her car. I mention this just in case the employees at the Lewisville Academy want some pointers as to how to treat customers in need, they can simply walk down to Lewisville Toys R Us which, as I said, is very close to where the Lewisville Academy and observe how the staff at Toys R Us do things. Perhaps that way, the employees at the Academy can learn how not make aggravating situations worse for customers and make them feel so appreciated, they may actually want to buy replacement products from the Academy. Just a thought

I have gone to this store several times. It is always stocked with product. Personnel same to have changed thou. I past several employees and at no time did they ask if I needed help looking for anything. That was not really a big issue though. On Feb 2 2012 between the hours of 6pm and 8pm. I went to this store to look for a few guns to purchase. When I asked if they had any in stock the employees looked like a deer staring into lights. Neither of the employees knew what type of gun I was talking about. I would be very concerned when trying to ask for any type of info from these people ever. I have bought over ten rifles/pistols from this store over the past four years but I will be looking for a new store or better yet get my Federal Firearms License.

Went to Academy to go purchase a new home gym about 4 months ago. The fitness associate advice us on all the different products that they had in stock. After comparing the home gyms that they had on display we decided to go with the Bowflex pr1000 only because the "fitness" associate said that the resistance rods can be removed and changed to a higher resistant weight....FALSE!!! RE-TRAIN YOUR STAFF! I AM OUT $600 DOLLARS ON EQUIPMENT I PROBABLY WILL NO LONGER NEED IN A FEW MONTHS. If your fitness associate knew the product we would have purchased another home gym that did not include weights and just buy it separately. Ill stick to Sports Authority their staff has more knowledge.

Went in to buy a gun that was discounted at cabelas through an add in the paper, the manager on duty at the time told me that he would not match the price because they are already cheaper then cabelas. Whats the point of price matching if academy leaves it to the managers to make the call? If I was the manager I would do what it takes to keep my customers happy and coming back not to make them feel stupid. Even though cabelas is higher priced you pay for the customer service that academy does not have. Academy you have lost my business and I hope more from this post!

This place is extremely dirty. Everything is not placed in the proper place. Most things are continually out of stock. To top it off, everything is at full retail prices. I was looking for baseball batting gloves. Most of the selection was laying on the floor of the ones which were hung on the wall were not located in the correct price tag slot. I never found the glove I was looking for. The employees seemed nice and courteous. Unfortunatly, the condition of this store firmly lies on the shoulders of the managers.

The team lead in the shoes spent over an hour and a half with me helping me find the best shoe for me. She worked with my budget, and knew her product well enough to recommend specific brands based on what I needed. Unfortunately I didnt catch her name but I definitely would go there again!

I went in to buy a gun and some other items that I saw in Sundays Paper. The guy at the Gun Counter was unable to get a manager to come over to the counter to approve the sale. Apparently the three managers on duty were all busy, so I cancelled the sale and left. Not Happy.

John at the gun counter is extremely helpful! Got a great deal on a rifle I have been looking at for awhile. All the staff was very polite and helpful. The manager Dee was helpful as well. My entire experience here was positive and cant complain about any of this.

They have a very good selection of product and are reasonably priced. The people in the hunting/fishing department are usually very knowledgeable. The wait is sometimes fairly long to get assistance in that department. Usually very good prices on firearms.

Ammo deals are rare here and they appeared to be reworking the shelves the last time I was here. There were multiple isles with little to nothing on them. Staff has always been very helpful.

I always enjoy visit this store because they have a lot stuff that you can just leave the place without buying anything. We also had moved couple gun safes to the customers house.
