Came here on a Sunday night, store is pretty busy. We were looking to buy an outdoor griddle. Decided on which one we wanted so my boyfriend went to get someone from customer servic up front....10min later nobody came. I call the front of the store and ask for someone to come back. 5min later nobody comes, I go up to customer service and see 5 employees standing around talking about how i called the store and they needed me to come up front first instead or actually coming to help us. We finally get help and theres only 1 register open even with 5-6 other employees standing around doing nothing. In line other people were starting to "ask" other employees to open more lines- shouldnt even have to do that in my opinion. Wasted a half hour of my sunday here, where was the manager? I dont want to ever buy anything from this location after this. Ill be sure to fill out the questionaire we got with our receipt to let management know.

Their Price Match Is A Joke. It says every where in the store. "If you see a lower price we will match it" but they wont. I found a golf item I wanted but looked up the item online before I purchased it, to see how their price compared. Academy was much higher, so I showed the manager that every one else in the area was selling the item for 20% -30% lower. BUT Sorry we dont match Internet prices. Just go online to our Academy site and see all the fine print and hoops you have to jump through to get us to match a price. Wow it took 5 minutes to get a price match at Target. But several employees and a manager later I found out Academy could careless about price matching. They make it look like they have really low prices but if you see a lower price they will not match it unless you have the newspaper ad from the other store. HA HA HA. My son asked me "Dad What is a newspaper? I told him a website with no links.

Went there to buy school shoe . There were 20-25 other parents there as well everyone trying on shoes . kids "running faster jumping higher" it was great . The only thing that was not so great was the service at this store it was terrible .The "employees" the young boys working there were throwing a football to each other, checking there cell phone .when you did ask for help locating a shoe .There reply would be "if we have it it would be on our shelves near the shoe" Just didnt care about doing there job .Now please dont get me wrong any other department you visit are great. And have time and knowledge to help you find what you need and get on your way .

I called ahead to see if they had what I was looking for 10 minutes later I finally talked to a person who has zero knowledge about baseball or softball helmets. Tells me that have lots of face guards, re ask if they have the one Im looking for is a specific brand and I hear him start talking to a person at the store another customer doesnt say anything to me. So when I get there I find they do not have the face guard for the helmet that I already own this is not the first time Ive had issues with the knowledge or customer service or lack thereof at this Academy. I think Ill be going to Dicks from now on!

Getting ready to try jogging. Needed some inexpensive shirts and shorts. Looked on-line and saw some deals. The price point on the BCG brand was particularly appealing (about $15). So off I go. I was not familiar with this BCG brand, but they have shirts too ($10), so I bought some. There are BCG socks too, but I did not like them. Bought Adidas. Did not have the shoes I have, Saucony, but there some attractive deals on shoes too, many on special. Needed help a couple of times, and staff was available and knowledgeable. All in all a very good experience.

Would not price match on a pistol from another retailer, manager citing, they could not compete with a government price. Even though, It clearly states in their price matching criteria, that they will price match ANY retailer. We will not match misprinted ad prices, clearance, closeout/"going out of business" prices, Buy One Get One Free, special promotions, rebates, coupons, prices that require a club membership, or limited quantity offers. That was cut and paste from Academys price match policy... did any one see government retail anywhere??

Went in there to look at baseball gloves for little league. The boy working in the department finally helped me after trying to get his attention for a while. He then would not answer my questions and just told me to go look over there. Then tonight i went in for a return and the sales people were unorganized and rude. There was only one employee who offered to help without an attitude and am appreciative of her help. Will not be going back in to this store. I will find another academy to shop at.

Out of all the Academys around me, I just find myself coming back to this one. The employees are always friendly and helpful. The clothing and products seems to be in folded and in order. Store always appears clean and free of clutter and trash. (Except the parking lot) They carry name brands, Under Armor, Nike, Reebok, Yeti, etc. The fishing, Golf and Shoes dept are sufficient with lots of different products for everyone. The Hunting dept needs some work. Go to Cabelas if you want hunting items.

One cashier open daily which dubs as customer service, line to service 6,7,8 customers. Staff unable to adequately respond to inquiries, was told they would honor on line pricing by manager however at checkout was told they were not going to honor pricing after I spent over 30 minutes in the store. Staff didnt seem knowledgeable or educated in their own policies/procedures. Little to no initiation/ownership taken by staff. My first and last visit to academy

What can you say about Academy that folks dont already know. Pretty pricey, but they have what you are looking for. Cheapest place for propane refills, no American made grills though. Lots of manufactured goods from overseas. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly enough, clean and brightly lit inside the store. Another example of a major corporation displacing the local stores, similar to Walmart. In short, I go there when I absolutely have to.

This Academy has become the Walmart of sports stores. Zero help and zero interest in helping customers. Not going back. I didnt want to leave a review because when I see negative reviews I usually assume the reviewer is a jerk that deserved the crappy service. Im making an exception because I really wont ever go back or spend money there again. I have 3 boys that play sports all year and will gladly spend money everywhere but Academy.

I purchased a safe which was damage on the front. Lady manager on shift was very unprofessional and waste my time on a Saturday. I spend thousands of dollars at this academy. Other staff was very nice but needs better training in situations like this. Who bring out deep scratched safe to your truck after I buy it. Not one to leave reviews but this staff was unprofessional and has lost my business.
