I will never shop at that Academy in Burleson again.....I found a Mossberg 702 magazine that had been returned and the package was taped and stapled 10 kids of different ways. It looked like hell so I asked the girl if I could get a 20% discount atleast because judging by the way the package looked, I was taking a chance of this magazine being messed up. They are known to to stick after putting 12 rounds in it and if you start forcing them in after that then you can damage the inside and you can see it from the outside, Its fixable but a pain to do. The checkout girl asked the little blond headed "team lead" teeny bop girl if she could give me a discount because of the package, even she agreed it looked bad. The "Blondie team lead" told I couldnt have a discount that I had to take a chance and if it didnt work than bring it back for a refund.....so Im going to do all of that?!?! Ummmm....NO!! I will definitely be going back and talking to the manager tomorrow. Last time I asked about the magazine they were okay with giving me a 20% discount but realized I forgot my wallet at home and didnt go back because I figured it would be gone by the time I got back. I ran in to it tonite again (having my wallet this time) and now theres an issue with it?? Im sorry but they need team lead that ACTUALLY knows customer service.....that tonite was not customer service at all!! I hope a Burleson store manager sees this....I will start shopping at Gander Mountain or Cabelas, they always make it right when the customer isnt happy.......

Purchased an Eliptical from the Burleson location. Took product out of box to assemble it and it did not come with any instructions. I called the store and was told we will call you back. Manager Paula called back and said we cant get any instructions for it. I will call them tomorrow because we close soon. Waited until 430 pm for call from store and nothing. When I called and talked to Paula she said she was still working on it. I told her its been 24 hours and she said well I am in a 1pm. I told well then you have had 3 hours she said its not her fault and she will get to it when she can. I cant believe the attitude and horrible customer service from a manager.. I will never spend another dollar with them .

This store has decided to Hide that they are selling Modern Sporting Rifles! They are hidden behind the counter that is full of all types of Hand Guns! If you believe in 2nd amendment rights. Dont spend money in their store! If you do you are basically giving them money to use as a Political Action Group against you! If Academy is afraid of guns doing harm arent all of the pistols they are selling the same ones that killing people in Chicago every Weekend!!!! What Hypocrites!!!!! Cabelas or Bass Pro for me! Speak up if you dont like something or nothing will change.

Check out line had 4 people in front of me. After several minutes of not moving I looked at my watch, the next time I looked, there were now only 3 people waiting, fifteen minutes had passed! The reason I looked at my watch was, I had the same lengthy wait a week before, this time I wanted actual verification. I put my purchase on the counter and walked out. They have lots of business, so thankfully, they want miss mine.

Can you say over priced? Many items are found elsewhere at better prices but if you know what youre looking for and need athletic or active wear or gear, this place probably has it. Staff was either friendly or ignored you completely. One guy in shoes dept. sold me a great paiir of shoes and that redeemed the other staff who walked by us many times.

LAZY Gun Counter. I will never recommend them. They just want to be left alone. They have a rack full of Bianchi Holsters that are labeled for Springfield XDs, They dont fit that gun. Not one. All I got was attitude. I would not recommend this over priced, no service store ever. The store I an talking about is the one i Burleson Texas.

Called ahead to make sure they had a shoe in stock, they said yes so I made the trip out to this location (25 mins away) and they had the shoes but they were obviously used and very dirty. Kinda shocked that they restocked them. I attached a photo. Luckily my husband found an extra pair in my size way in the back of the shelf.

I concur with other raters that the customer service at this site is some of the worst I have experienced. It always seem that the staff is disengaged or too involved in their private conversations. A true reflection of inadequate management, If there were other options in Burleson (Dicks or Sports Authority), I would be there.

Rude employee behind the gun counter by the name of Joshua. I usually look for deals at Academy with very little expectations of any type of customer service. This guy today was just plain rude. I will spend a few dollars more and go to Cabelas because I receive great customer service as I usually do when I shop there.

This a good place to shop. I spend more than I should because they usually have a "hot deal" I cant pass up. The customer service can be lukewarm, so if you are not sure and have some questions about a product, you may face some challenges. The store is busy most of the time and the employees are stretched pretty thin.

I was treated like crap. I was buying a gun, but was talked down to, babied and waited on last though I was there before another customer. Even after calling ahead to hold what gun I wanted and being knowledgable about the process. I will never go back to this location. Misogyny at its worst. Is it seriously 2016?

Customer service was excellent. Im disabled and wanted to make sure they had the boots I wanted, in my size. They took time to go find the boots, but when I ask them to hold on to them for me, they replied, no problem & be up front at customer service waiting for you. Pretty dang cool !

Worst Academy ever. I am a huge fan of Academy, but this one flat out stinks. Unwilling to help customers. Manager and staff should be replaced, with people who actually slightly care about customers. Very disappointed, going to a different location. Two thumbs down

It was 3 days after black Friday and the black Friday tags were still up. Had to ask about ammo since it rang up wrong. Prices was normally 12.99 but it was selling for 9.99 and I had to find someone to verify.
