Went on a weekday to look for running shoes. Their shoe selection is incredibly vast and confusing, which could be a good thing for some people. However, I couldnt seem to get anyone to help me, until I found as stocker and asked if he could get someone to help me. It took him two tries before someone did. The person who came to "help" was absolutely not helpful: without asking g me even what Id be using my shoes for (gym, pavement, trails, etc), he just brought me to the most expensive shoes on display and said I should get those ones. When asked why I should get those, he didnt know, and couldnt tell me the difference between those and a much cheaper pair except that they were "just better." I figured I could at least figure out what size Im should get in a given brand, but he didnt know how running shoes were supposed to fit. I left with no more information than I had when I walked in, and definitely no shoes. But at least the bored, unknowing employee got to go back to not helping customers!

I generally like Academy Sports as a chain, and have often purchased clothes and sporting goods from them. I generally do not use this particular store because it is inconvenient to get to from my home. Today I went there because it was on my way. I wanted to buy something that was behind a counter and needed a sales person to help. Three clerks were behind the counter talking when I walked up. They all looked at me, saw me waiting and went back to their discussion. I called out to ask if one could help me. I was ignored. After four or five minutes waiting, I left the store. I will never go back and I recommend that others find a different Academy Sports where they care about customer satisfaction. This one obviously does not.

Recieved a flier with a sale start date of 6/14 arived at 3pm and the only one of the PT111/RoughRrider combo I came for was in the display case. Just as I started to fill out 4473 the clerk came back and said they were out. I pointed to the display set but he REFUSED to sell me that one just because it was the display...said the sale actualy started 6/11. Also claimed that diffrent stores may have diffrent sale dates, yet this is the flier recieved in mail less than 2mi from this store. The clerk then checked the computer and told me the BunkerHill/I10 store MIGHT have some, and that I should drive halfway into the city to buy what was sitting 12in infront of me.

Hunting & Fishing Dept. My husband and I as well as about 6-8 people were standing around waiting for service. One guy was doing a background check. Two were standing in the corner on their phones and yapping their mouths on the clock while customers waited. Seriously? My husband called customer service to have someone call to have help sent to the department. Only for the employee that wasnt doing his job to open his mouth and yell, "Who here needed help? No one said anything!" Well smarty pants, isnt it your job to help the 6-8 customers without being instructed to?

I called ahead to see if they had a certain shotgun (Mossberg Maverick 88 12 gauge 18") in stock and they said they got one in. So i went in after work to find it still there and make the purchase. I had moved and didnt change my address so we couldnt complete the sale. The sales man said he would hold it for me since he know I wanted it really bad. I took care of the DL and went in and it was still on hold. It is always nice when people actually do something they say they will do. They were very helpful and I am very satisfied with the gun.

Recently bought a few riffles and fishing gear and can say the stay Id nice and much better to shop for guns knifes here then at bass pro shop buying Christmas time u cant get helped at bass pros hop it takes getting a ticket and 2am ting hours for ur turn and I dont know about all of u but I have a toddler and that was so not happening so I came to academy and was helped rightbaway...good job gun selling employees at academy keep it up and corporate if u see this give them a raise your dont ya they have earned it

In from out of town and i wish our academy looked this nice and organized in mesquite ... very impressed and the employees are very helpful in finding what you are looking for ... i am use to academy looking like a torrnato just blow thru the shoe dept. And attitude if you ask where to find things in the rubble ... if it wasnt 4 hours away i would only shop this location now that i have seen what it should look like

black guy in shoe department is a straight up racist! he called my 7 year old child a cracker not knowing i was right around the corner of the aisle. management was lackluster and basically shrugged their shoulders when brought to their attention. want to remedy the situation academy? Hire mature human beings, train them right , and sort out the shi&birds. quit hiring stupid aholes like that guy.

I will put 3 stars just because I got what I wanted, but only 1 person actually wanted to help me. I came in to buy an Adidas duffel bag, and I asked 2 workers about a strap problem that went with the bag and one gave me attitude and the other didnt even want to look me in the face. Such a great way to shop on Fathers Day. May not even come back to this store at all anymore.

Dont get me wrong the employees are friendly but ..this about last time I shop there EVERYTHING is ALWAYS OUT OF PLACE !! Especially the shoe department..Ive tried purchasing shoes and they always are in the wrong place or the sho looks identical but somehow at checkout they are slightly different so they are not the price on the display..rant over

They will pay you the difference if an item goes on sale shortly after your purchase. This is for the FM 1093 location only. The location at I-10 and Hwy 99 is terrible about saying online that they have the item and then you show up and do NOT have it. This has happened 3 times! Dont trust their online inventory! You will be disappointed.

Best Academy I have been to, seems that everything is always is in stock and the staff are helpful. Had a couple questionable returns that I was not sure would be accepted but Academy always seems to put the customer first. Keep in mind that Academy price matches Amazon and if their price is higher they will give you 5% off Amazons price.

I had a problem with some working boots i bought there. I wanted to exchange them for something also they say i could but when i came back with what i wanted to get they said I had to get exactly the same boots they were rude so I asked to speak to the manager and he never came out I lost $75 dollars they said the would not do anything
