This review is long due.. I think its important that other people know what happened to me here. I would be careful about leaving your jewelry here. We had three rings, all family heirlooms. We didnt want just anyone to resize them since they were a hundred years old. So I did my research to find someone who specialized in antique and vintage jewelry. At first the experience was very pleasant. We had my engagement ring resized and I was so worried since we would be downsizing by almost a half. This could potentially weaken the part of the ring holding the diamond. I was so very happy with my resizing. It came out well with no damage. We brought in two other rings at the same time to ask them about each ring and if they could tell us about the gold content. We decided to resize just the one he liked the most. They sized him and said it would be awhile due to the holidays. That was fine. It wasnt ready at the stated time so we waited some more. Not a big deal because our wedding was a lot later. We came to pick it up and it didnt fit. So we had them size him again and they said they would resize it. We left it there and finally they called us. They told us the ring that they had at the store didnt match their original description of the ring we dropped off. They didnt have the original ring. I came to the store to get this sorted out and they ended up accusing me of switching the rings in order to get a free sizing for another ring. I was very upset that they were telling me they lost an heirloom ring and were accusing me of switching it to swindle them. They said they would have to charge me for another resizing since this was not the original ring. I took whatever ring they said was the one they found in our "client envelope" and left crying. I wish they had treated me with more kindness since it was their mistake. I hope that you are careful about leaving your beloved things here. Were always going to be thinking about if his wedding band is really his great grandfathers or someone elses.

I dont know much about jewelry, let alone buying it. So after reading all of the positive reviews on Galaxie online, I decided to give them a try. Tina assisted me as I looked for a necklace for my girlfriend. She asked the right questions, was extremely knowledgable regarding everything I looked at, and best of all, let me make my own decision on my own time. They have a personal message on their website and Ive copied this sentence, as I think it sums up who they are as a family business, but more importantly, as passionate jewelers - "We actually believe it is a privilege to handle natures bounty and love nothing more than to share our excitement and wonder with the world" Its a great outlook. This is my first time shopping for jewelry in Houston so I dont have much to compare to, but I was overwhelmingly satisfied. Im sure my girlfriend will be too when she sees what I got her.

I love the Galaxie and its current owners, Kip and Colleen Stodghill. Ive been visiting them since they were at the old Westbury Square location and I was a teenager, some 40 years ago. In all that time Ive never spent a huge amount of money there, but theyve always treated me like a valued customer and friend. Theres no one else Id trust to work on my grandmothers vintage jewelry. I was pretty embarrassed that my husband bought my wedding rings elsewhere, but they didnt say a word and have graciously sized and resized them over the years. Kip and I share an interest in gemstones and hed give me expensive rubies and emeralds to hold while he went off and helped another customer. It just doesnt get any better than these folks, they do quality work and are lovely human beings. They even help spay and neuter feral cats in their neighborhood.

I came to Galaxie Jewelers as clueless guy looking for an engagement ring. Kip and crew were friendly, knowledgeable, and patient in helping me choose a good ring for her within my budget and also helping me decide whether I should get the ring before I propose or to get it afterwards so my fiance could choose what she wanted. I decided to let my fiance choose the ring, but with her not being used to having much jewelry she didnt really know what she wanted. Kip and crew again were very helpful and patient in helping her find something that is suitable for her. Service was excellent and timely. The rings were wonderful and just right for us (I purchased my wedding band there also). I cant recommend this place enough for finding jewelry that suits you. (On a side note they also repair jewelry, even costume jewelry!).

I found this place while looking around the internet. I really wanted a custom wedding band, as did my fiance, David (we didnt do engagement rings, although, I would do it here as well). I had done research on stones and metals and Kip (the owner) answered every question and is EXTREMELY knowledgeable. He will tell you the truth, even if it is the answer that will get Galaxie less money. I trust them completely! The rings turned out wonderful! (just two weeks until the wedding, YAYAYAYAYAY!!!) You wont be disappointed!
