I am a current student of Renatos and I have found his, to be a very rare talent. His is a gifted master craftsman and a gifted teacher. He is such a great teacher, that in imparting knowledge and skill, he awakens the creativity in you. He teaches you not only the different techniques of making jewelry but several other ways to achieve the same result. He goes above and beyond to answer all your questions, spanning from design to business administration and this, you will witness day to day as he attends to his clients. His classes are small and very interactive. He creates such a friendly atmosphere for interraction and networking between his students, both past and present. I have made friends with some talented students and have learned from them also. Renato assists you setup a personal studio in a very cost effective way. He shows you how to create jewelry without the use of very expensive equipment and encourages you to do so before jumping off to spend a bunch of money to equip your studio. This way the art of jewelry making does not become the exclusive reserve for the rich. If you need a new career or want to take your jewelry making skills to another level, I can assure you that the best teacher to have is a Master Jeweler and Renato Ronquillo is the only registered Master Jeweler in houston Tx.

I was very disappointed with how Renato does business. I took some silver items to be cleaned a total of 4 which consisted of 1 charm bracelet, a heart bracelet, a rope bracelet and one thick necklace. Renato went ahead and sauntered one piece of the thick necklace and two charms which were loose without telling me. When I went to pick up and pay for the cleaning, the price was $142.00. The best way to do business is to call the individual and let them know what they plan on doing and let the customer decide if they want to go with the extra expense. But, Im to blame for not getting a written or verbal estimate of how much it was going to cost. Lesson learned. Today, I went down to the tunnel and discovered another Master Jeweler which is next to Renato and I took a necklace with no clasp and he fixed it for $4.00. I didnt have the money and he told me when Im come back I can pay him. He also has a sign which reads, "Free jewerly cleaning." I know where I will be taking my stuff to be repaired!!!

I just finished my last day of Renatos two week Basic Jewelry course. First week is fabrication, second is stone setting. This is THE way to go if you are interested in getting your feet wet for a hobby, or a career. Certainly, you would need additional training to become a bench jeweler for work, but this is a wonderful start. Renato is a fantastic teacher, and his curriculum will keep you interested, and challenged. To give you an idea of what you can learn in two weeks, I created close to ten rings, all the way from sheet, and a nice stone pendant. I became pretty proficient with soldering, and look forward to further practice on my own. Renato also taught me a wealth of information about polishing, and refurbishing old jewelry. Great guy, great class.

I have a gold earring charm that fell off my earring in my driveway and was run over by a car. I went to three different jewelers in Conroe who said they could not repair the flattened sandal charm. I took it to Renatos in downtown Houston and he said he could fix it. I picked up my repaired earring today and Mr. Renato did an amazing restoration job! I am so pleased with the work Mr. Renato performed. Ive had these earrings for over 40 years and they have great sentimental value to me. I was heartsick over the damage, but Mr. Renato made it look brand new! Mr. Renato is definitely my go-to master jeweler for any of my jewelry needs! Thanks Mr. Renato!

The other day was my first time in Renatos jewelry store and Im positive it won’t be my last! His metalsmithing skills are extraordinary! His earrings, fabulous necklaces, bracelets and other accessories fill most of his shop and he does carry a few other designers. The best thing is, he does custom jewelry work that is by far flawless in craftsmanship! He fashioned his pieces to accommodate a wide range of tastes. Also an added bonus, I found out that he teaches Metalworking/Jewelry making classes at his store. I have to say, I am VERY impressed with everything Renato Jewelers has to offer and can’t wait to go back!

Excellent jewelry making / metalsmithing classes! I really enjoyed the one on one attention Renato gives in his jewelry classes. Just completed a 5 day ring making course where I learned to saw, file, solder, bezel set a cabachon, bezel set a faceted stone and polish the silver to a mirror finish. I gained lots of valuable hands on experience from his class and it was great to learn from a master craftsman. I would recommend his jewelry making classes to anyone interested in learning the art of metalsmithing.

Renato gives one-on-one training that is second to none! through my 12 week course I learned not only repair and stone setting techniques but also how to create items most jewelers order from catalogs by hand. The patients Renato has is extraordinary and his passion for teaching proper technique shows. I have a very ornate, jeweled, metal business card holder that fell apart at the hinges. It is so unique that I cannot find or buy another one. I took a chance and asked if he could fix it and at first he didnt think he could but he told me he would try, even though there was a chance he might break it. 20 minutes and $10 later, he managed to repair it! So happy!

I had a great week with Renato for stone setting 1! In just four days, I was able to practice pave setting, prong setting, flush setting, and bezel setting. As a master jeweler, Renato was able to answer all of my difficult questions, and taught me new methods and metalsmithing techniques, including repair, tool making, finishing, and more.

I took my 20-year old engagement ring to Renato at 10 AM because it had a damaged prong. By 4 PM my ring was ready to be picked up and had four new prongs and was cleaned and polished and looked like a brand new ring -- as beautiful as it was the day I received it.
