Carlos did my first tattoo in March of 2014. I originally went to Taboo because he is the father of a good friend of mine. After my experience there, I refuse to get tattooed at another shop! Shortly before that, in January of 2014, I went with the friend to get piercings after class. Tiffany pierced both of us and was so cool and laid back the whole time. She joked with us and we were all laughing and having a good time. I got two helix piercings and a tragus while my friend got both tragus done. I had, at the time, only one helix piercing and no tattoos. She was marking the spot for the piercings and noticed that my first helix was technically positioned wrong and then asked if I wanted her to match the new piercing or have her pierce the new one correctly. I loved that she gave me the option and told me! I feel like other places wouldve just pierced it and called it a day. Ive also been pierced and tattooed by Tim. He is hilarious!! Piercings are quick and, in my opinion, completely painless! And he makes you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in the door. Ive taken a few other friends there and they love it as well. I definitely recommend Taboo Tattoo!!!

Cyle at Taboo Tattoo was awesome! Everything was clean and the individual artist rooms in the back were nice (as opposed to one open area with many artists jammed into the space). I had initially gone to another tattoo shop... on ELM STREET, I showed the artist the look I was going for (a gypsy) and she agreed to draw something up for me. I did not want a traditional Sailor Jerry tattoo, but one that was a bit more updated. She returned after an hour (no line at this point) to show me a Sailor Jerry traditional tattoo. She told me it was true to the original. I said it was different than what I wanted and asked her what colors she was thinking (trying to keep an open mind to the artists suggestions). She said, "Just like the one on the wall here". A friggin generic tattoo she had done countless times. What is artistic about that, but shame on me for going to a american traditional shop. I left without any work done and walked a street over to Taboo Tattoo. Cyle was GREAT. He treated me with respect and gave me a wonderful tattoo based on what I wanted. Thanks again man.

Okay so heres the deal, my BESTIE of almost 40 years is up visiting me. We go resale shopping as we have a tendency to do when together. We see a young woman in the shop she notices her top I notice the tattoo on her bared shoulder. "look at that tattoo" we both go oh my gosh how cool is that? We go next door to eat and cant stop talking about the tattoo, my bestie says "I wish we would have asked where she got it," I say Ill be right back. As fate would have it she is there...Deep Ellum here we come. Long story short, we go to Taboo Tattoo, show them what we want and Cyle says "I can do that." We say okay ask how much, leave walk around and head back..together we get the same tattoo on opposing shoulders! They are BEAUTIFUL, Cyle does a spectacular job, he is kind, caring, and good to look at even if you are old! I would highly recommend him and the store..his rendition was better than the one we copied, by the way she recommended another place! So the moral of this story is go to TABOO TATTOO and ask for CYLE, you wont be dissapointed!

After being inspired by David Lee Roths recommendation to "get a tattoo and commemorate the occasion" after Van Halens June 20, 2012 concert at Dallas American Airlines Center, my wife and I discovered Taboo Tattoo during a Google search. We liked the reviews that we read. I knew we found the right place because it sounded similar to the VH lyric "Tattoo-tattoo..." We dropped by the Deep Ellum studio on June 21, 2012 and were the first clients of the day. We admired this establishments cleanliness, professionalism and upbeat attitude. Cyle Corse, artist extraordinaire, was very laid-back, personable and highly-skilled. He crafted my first tattoo, the VH three-dimensional logo, on my right deltoid. He also gave my wife a Wizard of Oz tattoo on her left forearm to commemorate the life and lasting impression of my deceased Mother-in-law. The quality of Mr. Corses work was amazing! We are highly pleased with the results and will drive 120+ miles from Wichita Falls, TX to Taboo Tattoo and get our next "poetry in ink."

I am simply ecstatic! Cyle Corse at Taboo realized my tattoo dreams. I had my heart set on a design & placement and Cyle not only made it happen, he made it an exquisite piece. Clean lines, fine detail and beautiful color make up the tattoo, but as a whole, the lines, detail and color work together to form a masterpiece. Cyle was professional, laid-back and fast. Definitely the best tattoo experience Ive had. I cant stop staring at my new tattoo and Im enjoying all the compliments on it. I cant wait to come back to have Cyle do more work and have him fix my other tattoos (which I thought were fine until I compared them to my new piece, lol). The long out-of-state drive is worth it; Cyle is my new go-to man for tattoos! Make sure to ask for Cyle at Taboo to get the best work done. He is a truly unique and talented artist.

I cant speak to the quality of the other artists, but Chelsi has done nearly all of my work. Shes a general pleasure to be around and can really put you at ease if youre getting your first tattoo. Any amount of time spent under her needle goes by in a flash and shes committed to providing the best quality tattoo possible. Follow her advice and youll have a tattoo that heals up beautifully and lasts a good long while. Shes not at all heavy handed, but still manages to pack in stunning color and detail. Shes the absolute best to see if youre in the market for any sort of nerdy tattoo, being a bit of a nerd herself. But if you look through her porfolio, and feel like you dig her style, I cant endorse her original work enough. Take a chance and let her give you something thats one of a kind and completely original.

I had a cover up done in April of 2015 by Cody. I moved to California and went to a shop out here to have some things added and a few things fixed that Cody did to the phoenix that I asked him not to, and things that just didnt look right. The beak looked like a parrot, I asked him to thin it out based on the drawing he did on my back. Also the wings were layered in a way where the one side looked staggered and looked like a chicken wing. Besides all that, the artist in SoCal, noticed that Cody decided to SIGN the tattoo, hiding his initials under one of the wing feathers. Not only is that extremely unprofessional and infuriating, I was having someones initials covered up in the first place. He had no right to do that. And the shop refuses to own up to it even though I have the photos to prove it

Im in the service industry and I come in there to get my very first tattoo. I ask about my tattoo and the receptionist is rude off the bat. Smirks when I tell her what I want and presumes to tell me that they will have to overcharge me because it will "fade".I end up getting my tattoo done somewhere else where there were no questions asked and the price was super reasonable. Heads up guys, get rid of your girl at the front because she is driving your customers away. Im not the only one this has happened to either. I came in willing to spend money and on top of that take care of my tattoo artist. Word of advice teach your rep. to not judge and come with a better attitude. You never know whos coming through that door. Will most likely never come back there again.
