This ones human. I visited the office last year and had one of the most negative experiences at an optometrists office ever. The doctor and I disagreed on the prescription of my computer glasses, which my previous doctor had kept at the same prescription for almost 10 years. Dr. Overmann wanted to increase the prescription to give me 20/20 vision. If any of you spend any extended amount of time in front of a computer, youll know the kind of headache youd get from wearing glasses with such a strong prescription. After I raised my concern, Dr. Overmann promptly lost all patience and said that he could not understand why I would want glasses with such drastic undercorrection (they were only -1.0 off from my regular glasses, which are 6.5). Without further discussion, he ushered me out of the patient room and back out to the front desk and continued berating me in front of the front desk staff, before storming out without so much as a goodbye. I left the office in tears. Yes, this doctor will "get your attention" if he doesnt think youre listening. But how do you get his attention when he isnt listening? This year, I will be looking for a doctor who listens to his patients without the "I am the doctor, aka. He Who Must Be Obeyed" attitude.

I do not recommend this doctor and unfortunately I never got to the point that I actually saw him. The staff member that initially took me into the room to do the "standardized" tests before my exam with the doctor was so rude, I walked out. I needed an eye exam for contacts and I also needed the doctor to check out a red spot in my eye where I had accidentally poked myself but this rude lady (who never introduced herself) said they couldnt do both... she was so insistent on telling me what my insurance would pay for and what my insurance would not pay for. I could either have a regular eye exam or a medical exam but not both she rudely told me. Why not? If I am a paying customer, who cares what my insurance will pay for and not pay for. I just wanted my eyes checked out. Also, in the 25 years I have worn contacts, I have never ever had to have my eyes dilated during my yearly exam.. EVER!! But here they either make you get your eyes dilated or pay for photos that cost $29 a piece. No thank you. I will gladly take my business elsewhere.

I found Dr. Oevermann with Cypress Family Eyecare when I drove my sister to an emergency appointment. While I was waiting for my sister to finish her exam, the staff was exceptionally friendly with my 10 month old daughter and myself. I inquired about the forms of insurance they accepted, as I was looking for a new optometrist near my home. When I discovered they accepted my vision insurance, I asked to make an appointment. They offered to fit me in while I waited for my sister to finish her appointment and the staff took the time to enter my information directly into their computers as opposed to me completing the new patient paperwork since my hands were full with my squirming baby. The doctor was thorough and careful in his exam and made me feel completely at ease. They even let me know that they offer free eye exams for children under 12 months. I would definitely recommend Cypress Family Eyecare for your optometry needs!

I found this practice through my health benefits. Dr. O helped me greatly. I have 44 year old eyes and my previous eye Dr. had prescribed contact lenses that did not allow me to see close up very well or far away well either. Dr. O worked with me and because of his level of experience, he was able to adjust the prescription and voila! I was able to see up close details again. The staff was helpful with figuring out my benefits coverage and his assistants were very nice and informative every step of the way. I would recommend to my family and friends.

Dr. Oevermann and his staff are awesome! I thought I had a half a contact stuck in the back of my eye but wasnt sure because it wasnt continuously irritating. I walked in without an appointment on a Friday and asked if he could check as I didnt want to go into the weekend then figure out I had a problem. They fit me in for a quick look between paitents - took less than 3 minutes - and indeed it was in there and he got it out! They are always cheerful, helpful and as accomodating as they can be!

i got glasses for the first time and enjoyed the dr, staff and selection. i brought my boy for his first apt and the doctor was very engaging and patient with him. only thing i didnt enjoy was him giving him big granny glasses to detour him from wanting glasses.. but the thing is it didnt work, my son wanted to wear them every day. haha. it was funny. I had a great experience and my husband goes there regularly and has had no problems.

Everyone is awesome!! I want to thank Dr. Oevermann for the last 7 years of care plus the next years to come!! He is always very caring, sharing, and knowledgeable of procedures and witty with all his answers. My mom has been very pleased with his service too. I wouldnt trade him nor his front desk staff :) You guys are all awesome and not to mention the fact that its nice to see the same faces every visit!! That alone is a plus.

I have a very complicated fit (required to wear gas perm lenses to correct astigmatism) and was wearing the same contacts for six years. My doctor retired, and the new one tried unsuccessfully 3 times to get me a comfortable fit. Dr. Oevermann got it right the first time!! Hes very precise, and an engineering background means that he understands how lenses are manufactured. Id recommend him very highly!

What a great experience. Great customer service!!!! After having many issues with customer service and issues with my eyeglasses prescription I went to Cypress Family Eyecare to find the best experience. I will continue to drive past many places to arrive at your door step. Great Job!!!

I have been twice and was very satisfied both times. The staff is friendly and I was never left sitting in a waiting room or exam room for more than a few minutes. Everything was explained to me and all of my questions were answered. I would definitely recommend the practice to anyone.
