I was denied purchase of alcohol for not having an in-state ID? Really? Spent a good hour in this store , with helpful staff and browsed the good selection of ales, wines and beers. I was looking to purchase $50 dollars worth of alcohol for my girlfriends father for his birthday and thought this was a good shot as I was recommended it by a friend who shops here regularly. I am originally from the United Kingdom and knew id potentially put up with some hassle, as I have at other Texas based stores (Has never happened to me in any of the other 14 states Ive visited over the years, only Texas regularly denies me due to "policies") but I still find it hilarious that my passport is denied to purchase 7% alcohol just because I do not have a Texas ID. My passport can get me in to any corner of the world, to any country, and makes it past your countries customs to arrive in this state, but isnt ""credible enough" to buy alcohol. Hilarious. I understand this has nothing to do with the employees of this store, and its simply a policy from the company that they are following. But I think its pretty ignorant that I need a Texan ID to purchase British beer when Im actually from the country that you import it from. Great friendly staff, nice environment Your store catchphrase should be: "Total Wine, we sell beer from around the world! ... Buuut if you are actually from any of those countries, get lost, we aint selling it to you" Ill stick to smaller craft and liquor stores, as Ive had no problems with ignorance there.

So, I like this place. It has great selection and pricing but the checkout is a total cluster. Unbearable really. Both time I went there were 3 lines open but stacking 10 deep and the cashiers are averaging over 3 minutes per transaction. Yes I timed it. When its my turn I ask for a membership, but she cant because she is too busy. When Linda was confronted on her time to chat for 3 plus minutes to everyone about 6th street, her family and everything but what the store sells she blames the card machine being slow. Funny my transaction took a bit over a minute. She couldnt get me out of there fast enough, and I felt no need to tell them that I found someone has been taking them for over $100 a pop when I discovered that they were switching low aged whisky into high aged boxes. So check your whisky purchases from here before you take it home! I wont be driving by Twin Liquors to go here anymore.

The manager came over to me, while in line at the register, and took one of the beers I was about to pay for away from me. Their sign at the counter said "1 per customer" and, since they were all different beers, I assumed that meant 1 per on each of the beers. If this Total Wine location is going to be policing their customers on the amount of a particular product they are allowed to purchase, at the very least be attentive when a customer comes up to the counter instead of snatching the product away as they are about to pay. I used to come here every Thursday to pick up a 6 pack of singles since Total Wine has one of the best single selections in town. After this experience, however, I dont think I will be coming back. The whole experience was embarrassing, to say the least. The employees attitude left a lot do be desired.

I love this place! Some really good wine, at really good prices. Huge beer selection. Great prices on liquor, too. Staff is always helpful, and some are very knowledgeable. If theyd improve their signage inside the store, Id give them five stars. But its really hard to figure out their organization, because your line of sight is destroyed by signs that basically advertise themselves. I know where i am, Im here for a reason, I dont need to have signs *everywhere* telling me where I am, and why youre so great. Very annoying.

Always friendly staff and great prices. Wonderful selection of craft beers and import and domestics. Be prepared though most are not refrigerated. Kegs and popular beers and wines are refrigerated. Good Cigar selection as well. I am not into wine but have not seen as much wine in any other store. I would definitely recommend this store if you are planning your party in advance if you need to chill drinks. Great Spirit Selection as well.

This store is amazing and the employees are very knowledgeable and helpful! The selection here is really broad and also has lower prices than other name branded stores around Austin. I definitely recommend going here for a good wine or aged scotch for a really decent price. If youre not sure about what you want, the staff can help you with your type and provide really great recommendations. Awesome place!

I really appreciate the uniqueness and variety the store has.. funny how this used to be the location of "Toys-R-Us" for kids and now its a "toy" store for adults. I like the choices of imported beers and if you like wine.. they have a lot of it, as well as spirits for your party and casual needs. They have some basic party supplies and general food items also.

Total Wine has best prices you can possibly find. Their selection is incredible and the store (Cedar Park location, I havent been to the other one) is incredibly clean and so well organized. I wish theyd open one up in Pflugerville, but the prices are so damn good, that its worth the drive. We save more money at Total Wine than we spend on gas getting there.

Booze everywhere! Fantastic prices, particularly on wine (I do tend to find better deals on beer at Whole Foods.) They offer plenty of opportunities for tasting wine, beer, and spirits on the weekends and even have classes from time to time. Its a great place to stock up for the weekend or pick up a gift from their extensive selection of party accessories.

Best place ever!!!! If you have that something special, perhaps you tried a new beer on a brewery tour on vacation and you would like to get it back home, well guess what 99.9% of the time you will be able to find it here. You wont beat the prices unless its the biannual $1-over-cost sale at a local competitor. Better selection than all but the biggest locations of the local competitors. Due to overwhelming popularity, gets crowded on the weekend and rarities dont last long. Staff helpfulness is variable, but good for browsing on your own or for finding your favorites.

They seem to always have plenty of selections when it comes to purchasing your alcoholic beverages. The store is huge and organized quite well. I never have a problem finding what Im looking for. I also like that they have a nice selection of chilled drinks if youre looking for something a bit more immediate.

Great selection of wines. I like the section where I can find the staff picks. This is where the staff picks their favorites and provides a description of the wine and what it goes with. I love the selection of California and French & Italian wines. So happy to have this in the neighborhood.

The rating matches the bourbon they recommended to me. It turns out to be a product bottled exclusively for Total Wine, but its not a particularly good bourbon. At this point, I feel like I cannot trust any more of their recommendations. Otherwise, the place is big and has a large selection.
