These guys are some of the dumbest around. I went to them for a 4 wheel alignment after having replace the 4 struts on my 2000 Toyota Avalon. I am very handy and do most of the work myself to save from paying someone elses salary. The guy comes back and said he test drove the car and hear popping and told me that I needed new struts. I then informed him that I just replaced all the struts all the way around. He leaves, confers with his colleagues and then proceeds to tell me that the lower control arm is garbage. He then asks if I replaced all the bushings and I informed him that I installed Detroit Axle complete strut kit. To which he replies, " the mechanic is afraid to work on the car because you may have done the struts wrong." I asked him if they were going to do the alignment like I originally asked to which he replied, "not without replacing the lower control arms." These are some of the most incompetent people Ive ever dealt with. Definitely dont recommend. I purchased the struts myself on eBay with free shipping and it took me 3 hours in my driveway to do the job with all hand tools. They have air tools and told me it was a 6 hour job and they were going to charge me $1600 for parts and labor. These guys are crooks. Save your money. The car is 16 years old and has 208k miles on it.....of course it pops and creeks when driving it.....moron.

My case was pretty crazy. Went in for engine miss-firing. They worked on it Wednesday and into evening Thursday. Got a rental car on Wednesday and since they were going to take longer than the afternoon, I had to extend my rental car longer. They helped me with the rental car because they had problems fixing the issue. So got the car back Thursday, had to go back again right away Thursday night after turning in the rental because the coil had to be recognized by the cars computer and they were not talking. So Friday evening on the way home, the car starts acting up again. Take it in Saturday morning and they work on it for another 4 hours. I take the car for a short drive and it starts acting up AGAIN. At this point I could have been furious, but the strangeness of automobiles these days is something I dont understand. So I had to wait until Monday morning when the Master Tech came in. This time they diagnosed the issue as a major computer component has failed and will be $1500 to replace. However, they promise to refund the previous money spent towards this repair. By some grace of GOD, I find out the part is covered under an extended warranty I bought when I got the car, but PepBoys still refunded the work and sent me on my Way! I will be back.

No such thing as Money Back Guaranteed!!!! Dont go to this place. They completely money hungry and under experienced. I have a 2011 Chrysler 200 Limited and never had bad car problems because I stay on my maintenance. I brought my car here to get the battery changed because it all of a sudden wouldnt drive over 15 mph and kept dying.They did a diagnostics to see if I had any other problems and they said Everything is fixed. The next day, my car wouldnt start again!!!! Had it towed Again with additional charges and did another diagnostic on it and said it was the alternator, fixed it, Charged me again, and gave me my car back. A couple hours later, my car does the same thing and dont drive over 15 mph and keeps dying. So, I look it up on the internet and come to find out, it the throttle system. So, I called them and told them what it was, the next day and had it towed again with more additional charges. Now they wanna charge me for another diagnostics, and the throttle system even though we all know what the problem is now. Total without counting this last tow, diagnostics, and throttle system......... $830.00 Satisfied 100% Money Back Guaranteed My Ass!!!!!

Brought my car in for an oil change, tune up and an alignment. They did not do the tune up, and they did not properly align my car. I got on the highway when I picked up my car, and I had to hold the steering wheel sharply to the left to get it to go straight. Two days after I brought it in, my maintenance required light came on. I took out my receipt at that point and realized that they had not done the tune up. In hindsight, they probably did me a favor considering that they screwed up my alignment... Id be terrified to think what they could have screwed up if they did the tune up too. My car now wont go over 60 mph without idling high and the engine knocking. Took my car back to this place, only to watch Jenae, the assistant manager, light up a cigarette in the mechanic area and bend over the engine of my car with a lit cigarette in hand. She proceeded to tell me that the reason my car was idling high and knocking was because of my tires, REALLY?? She had a horrible attitude, and kept us there so long that my kids missed their easter egg hunt. I will never return here again, EVER!!!

Worst place ever. Had to spend 3 hours here for them just to mess up. Okay so I went in to get 2 new tires. They said that would take 45 minutes to and hour to do. 2 tires really. Okay fine. Well then they run into a problem over a messed up lug nut. Had to buy a whole new set $33. Then they tell me I have a stripped strut. Okay another $3 but $52 in labor. They spend 3 hours doing just this. Well then I get my car back they park it I went to reverse. Hey I hear something rubbing against something. Not quietly at all. It was very loud inside the car. I park the car walk in and let them know. The guy acted surprised to hear this.... It was so loud I heard it over my ac and over the radio. Your not going to tell me you didnt hear it when there was nothing on. The guy, I had looked over at one point and he was hammering my calibers... He hit them into the router. And claims he didnt even notice or hear it. Spent $350 here for them to pull that and waste 3 hours out of my life. Oh and they were supposed to balance my tires. No. No they didnt. Worst place on history.

Im not normally a review person. I just wanted to say THANKS for the great service I got today at Pep Boys in Bedford. I asked them to check out my AC system, which was cycling on/off quite often. They said it was $35 to diagnose it and I didnt hesitate (thats cheap!). Turns out it was overfilled the last time I had somebody work on the engine. The mechanic at Pepboys said it was another $35 to fix the problem and I told him to go for it. Come time to pay, and the service guy said I owed $35 (I think plus tax). I told him that I was told it would be $35 to check and $35 to fix the issue, so I owed $70. He said they werent going to charge me for repairing the issue and apologized for the wait (which wasnt bad, I knew they were busy today). I know they cant do that for everybody, but that was awfully nice of him to both diagnose and fix my AC for a mere $35. Ill certainly take my car there without hesitation after this type of service. I also felt they were very honest and strait up with me about the issue. THANK YOU!!
