Ive made it a point to truly explore the coffee shops of Austin and Thunderbird never fails to deliver a perfect combination of deliciously caffeinated beverages, a solid selection of food, and a laid back, inviting atmosphere. Their chai might just be the best in town but I really love their food. If you are early to rise and have a bit of luck, you can chow down on Taco Deli tacos. Thats right, you read me right, Taco Deli tacos. The Jess Special is life affirming. Exaggeration intended.The chipotle chicken sandwich is amazing. And when Im wanting something less savory, the Giovanni (nutella & honey) is heaven on ciabatta bread. Thunderbird is great for studying with a big cup of coffee, lounging with friends with a pitcher of Lone Star on the patio, or a quiet cup of chai and people watching. Love the coffee, love the crowd, love the neighborhood. Nothing but love for Thunderbird Coffee.

The food here is really great, but the coffee is eh. Its okay. When I went, it got a sandwich, which was delicious and a pre-packaged kombucha. The service we really awesome and the sandwich came out speedy. When I left I got an iced coffee. This is where I was let down, the coffee tasted weak. After I left, I had asked my best friend about their coffee and she commented their iced coffee tastes more like weak tea. I have to agree. Go for the ambiance and maybe a beer and sandwich, skip the iced coffee if you can.

Thunderbird is great place to feel like you are in 60s because there are a lot of hippes/hipsters that work/go here. It is cool place none the less and its well known in the Austin community. The coffee is here is something I never feel disappointed in, but the baristas are kind of snobby. I guess that can be justified because theyre hipsters, then again welcome to Austin. I really do like that place though it has a comfortable feel it and I really enjoy this spot.

coffee is top notch! the owner really knows whats up w/his beans. staff is, well, super hip. i would marry each & one of em. where do they find these kids?!?! the 1st friday folk showcase has been going on for over a year. some really great austin artists performing inside in the winter/outside in the summer. all brought together by unwed fathers, an amazing austin act. + tons of beer specials! a great time to be had before you hit the downtown scene.

How can you tell if a place has great coffee? Follow the hipsters and the americanos will appear. This cute little coffee shop is a great place to catch up with a friend, get some work done, or just relax and enjoy the music. It feels like everyones favorite neighborhood coffee shop, as if you wont be kicked out after 30 minutes. Id recommend trying the Greek salad and the selection of Cuvee coffee-- very fresh and reasonably priced.

Thunderbird is a really cool coffee joint to hang out and chill at. Im not a coffee drinker so I cant comment on that per se...but I am a Wifi and Internet junkie and coffee places are the venue of choice when lounging. Their pastries are fresh and delicious...and the staff are always really nice. They have plenty of open spaces with tables, couches, and stools. I enjoy this part of central Austin and Thunderbird is a big reason.

Thunderbird Coffee has a great atmosphere to go and get some work done. Quiet, peaceful, good coffee and a friendly staff make for an all around great experience. Good beer prices all day and a fantastic patio to enjoy a cold beverage on a hot Texas day. Can be quite busy at times and people tend to camp out, but that doesnt take away from the quality of the coffee shop. Keep an eye out for the cute redhead staffing the bar!

This used to be my go to coffee spot in town. It has a great Austin atmosphere and great people watching. The coffee is good and they also serve a few beers on tap. Their breakfast tacos are from taco deli and their cinnamon rolls are from Quacks. Theyre recently hired a grumpy person who works on Sunday haha. Thats alright Ill cheer them up and show them how awesome it is to pour me a big ole cup of coffee yeee haww!

Coffee + Beer, two of my favorite things. This thunderbird location has a much larger and better designed outdoor area than its counterpart on Koenig. Youll see alot of people hunkered down with their laptops, both in and outside, but can usually find a free picnic table for a group to gather, I havent tried the food yet but their salads look great! One of my new favorite places to spend some time relaxing outside.

This is my neighborhood coffee shop, and I couldnt be more lucky! I walk here every morning to get a latte...and sometimes a bagel or breakfast snack. They have tacos from taco deli, lots of vegan options, and other fresh baked goods. The barristas know what theyre doing and are really nice. If you havent been here before you should definitely check it out. PS - Great place for a beer during happy hour!

Came here on a date while we were waiting for our table across the street at East Side Cafe, and had a great experience. The place is really nice and quiet and had some really good coffee. I usually drink my coffee black, and it was very pleasant. The atmosphere was really cool, the baristas were very nice and chill. Great place to study or have a quiet conversation to catch up with an old friend.

I know nothing about coffee. Nothing. However, every time I order from Thunderbird, the staff treats me as if I am a royal coffee connoisseur: "Large drip coffee? Excellent choice! Coming right up!" Their genuine enthusiasm for the craft of a perfect cup of coffee is contagious. Thunderbird is a great place to work, or socialize while enjoying coffee that will keep you going for hours.

This is an awesome place for students, entrepreneurs, and corporate men all alike. It has great coffee, good beer selection and above all else and awesome atmosphere. It has great food but if youre not feeling what they have then hope next door to the many selections of restaurants that are available. A new Mediterranean trailer just openned, its my favorite on the entire manor strip.

Beautiful shop with great light. Nice place to go alone if you just want to work, but also a good place to take a friend. It has a pleasant but also calm feeling to it. All of the workers always make the most lovely foam art in the espresso drinks, like I feel like its a requirement to have a beautiful soul and awesome clothing to work there. Get the honeynut latte! Its worth it!

COME ON. I know people want to smoke, but maybe make a policy that you cant here at a COFFEE shop. Who wants to smoke while drinking Coffee? Oh yeah. They sell alcohol here. Those people want to smoke. This is the worst. Coffee and pastries were really good, I just wish their patio was smoke free. I want to be outside enjoying coffee in the morning. Not smelling smoke.

Thunderbird Coffee is my go to place for a cup of black coffee and a croissant. Its on my way to work and the staff always seem really warm and friendly. The only reason why I did not rate them excellent is because every time I order an extra dry cappuccino, they cant seem to make it dry enough. But I wouldnt hold it against them that bad cause I always still go.
